Hey guys, just wanted to know how sturdy/fragile are Figuarts and how careful I have to be with swapping hands? I know Figuarts isn't supposed to be for playing like you do with Transformers but just want to know how durable they are. I don't want to end up, like, accidentally breaking a super expensive figure if I get one. Thanks in advance.

They won't survive a young child, too many small and fragile parts, but as an adult I think build quality is comparable to Marvel Legends and stuff. Only difference is the articulation works a lot smoother because the figures are made with a higher budget, and the plastic is much better.
You have to use force to swap parts, but I haven't broken a single one yet. If you ever swapped a part on a figure that was connected via a balljoint you know the drill. Can’t hurt to be a bit more careful though, especially if you haven't handled a Figuart yet, but as soon as you have it in hand for a few minutes you’ll get the idea. |
Make sure you are pulling straight out; lateral force is more likely to break something

Only times a hand has broken on me was a fluke Cell saga Gohan, and a ROTJ Luke with a known defective wrist.
Only other breakages came from a Cronus falling off the shelf and landing on his horn. |
You can also overcome stiff joints with heat, either letting the figure submerge in warm/hot water or using a hair dryer
|
Worth noting that joint and parts-swapping (like the hands) are much more stiff right out of the box. They loosen up to a comfortable amount with a little handling.

I play with them like they're transformers and they're fine. these aren't statues or model kits they're meant to be extremely durable for the most part. I also recommend messing around and "breaking in" every single joint right out of the box.

I always get so worried and stressed that I'm going to snap the balljoint when I'm swapping out hands but it just never happens
