Anyway, finally finished Savers. I don't...I can't even...
I don't know where to begin. Well, I'll wrap up what I just saw.
So, the Royal Knights finally stopped being stupid, everyone in the world gave their energy for the final Spirit Bomb or something, and Yggdrasil got axed off.

Actually, to be fair, it was a pretty cool climax. I liked the Digimon evolving from their own will and desire to aid their partners, and I liked that the Royal Knights turned against Yggdrasil (Though immediately disappointed that all they did was group together. Yes, I know it was an important development, but I wish we got to see them do something cool). Them taking on Yggdrasil was quite fun and I enjoyed it's final defeat.

However, I despise how squeaky clean that ending was. It wasn't as face rippingly bad as 02's, but I just hated this one, especially with the return of Suguru. That was basically where I drew the line. Yes, I know they had to separate from their Digimon and tragedy and blah, but then Masaru gets to travel to the Digital World so he doesn't have to leave Agumon? Fuck that. Fuck you, Masaru.

As a series, it was a massive roller coaster of good and bad. Both in story and characters. While most series have their own pros and cons, Savers was basically a constant wave of them, making it hard to keep steady.
It had an incredibly fast beginning to throw every character at you, and then it slowed to a snails pace as it became a MOTW show, then it picked up with the introduction of Ikuto, and then it hit a dead stop when the show revolved around Ikuto to the point that you could probably recite Yukidarumon's lines from memory with how many times that damned flashback popped up.

The show had a hard time keeping things straight. The Kurata story arc was a good start, but then it devolved once it turned him from extremist into generic "Take over the world" (Literally) villain. He was already a terrible character, but then they made him eye rollingly bad...

So, basically, the stories themselves are good, but they make a lot of mistakes as they tell them.
I don't really know how I'd rank Savers compared to other series, primarily against Adventure.

You know what we need a legit semi-mature Digimon Royal Knights anime. Like honestly I think it could really be good if they actually tried, but who knows maybe a lot of people still love the kid and monster partner aspect of Digimon.


Also does anyone else here love the Frontier U.S OP? I wish they made a full version of that song.

Well, they could try. I'd be all for it, myself. And seeing as how we have a special that features no humans and Savers tried to attract a larger and older audience, they could try to make a Royal Knight series.
I doubt it'd be very mature, seeing as how, well...Digimon; but I wouldn't complain.

I do not think I will watch Xros Wars.

What? Come on. Now that is a really great series that is incredibly good. I know the final battle sucks, but it's still an enjoyable series and it's a fun journey. :)

Okay. The two seasons (I don't like to separate them but whatever) are really great. The characters and cast are likeable and the battle scenes are astonishing and the overall series has great quality. However I will say that the sequel, Hunters, isn't all that good. I'm going to say it right now. I wouldn't watch Hunters if I were you. :lol

Just watch a few episodes and see if you enjoy it and can get into the series.

I'll try it, then...I'm just not keen on the Xros thing.

It's an intriguing and amazing concept though. Even though it isn't original. The idea of combining two Digimon to become a stronger form is just badass to mine. That also hints at the name of the show: Xros (Cross) Wars.

I actually really like that final battle but i was disappointed because i wanted to see more.

I watched the entire Hunters series. I liked some parts, but it definitely wasn't all that good.

If we're talking Digimon-things you should (or shouldn't) watch, I cannot recommend „Digimon X-Evolution“ enough. It's a 3D-animated movie that's completely independent of all other shows and movies, it features a storyline that was popular in the card-games and other merchandise at the time, and because of that it has some similarities to later shows, with Savers in particular because of Yggdrasil and the Royal Knights.

The beautiful thing about this movie is that there are no humans in it, it's a story completely focused on the Digital World and features only Digimon as protagonists and antagonists.

It's a fun little flick to watch, you can find it on the net with English subs relatively easy. I think it's even on YouTube.

Runaway Locomon was a fun little romp.

Going to watch Revival of the Ancient Digimon/Island of Lost Digimon now. Yip-fucking-pee, Frontier time...

When I purged my laptop of old videos, X-Evolution was one of the few that I kept. Despite it's basic animation, it's really good and self contained.
And, once again, it makes the Knights complete asses. Dammit >>

yea Digimon all ways felt like it fit rpg more the dungeon crawler. also i love xreos wars. its one of thoes digimon season you have to watch to judge yoursaelf not go but what other people say.

Yes, he was in the opening scene chasing Dorumon in order to kill him and obtain his X-Antibody. Pretty heavy scene, but it sets the mood pretty good.

Yep, and he was one of the four playable starters. That game is one of the examples that also use the X-Antibody theme to an extend.

Digimon World 4 was cool but I remember it was a pain in the ass to level up and get your character to digivole into a super badass digimon.

Fir me world 4 was worest out of the lot. I preffered 3 out of all of them.

The difficulty was broken, it wasn't unforgiving as much as it was simply unfair.
The concept though had it's points.

I found Dawn/Dusk to be my favorites of the Digimon World games.

Never got far with the original, but I played Dusk non-stop.

They were so much fun. My team sucked, but it got me through the game :p
