dude that costume is awesome, i mean for an evil kuuga it looks perfect
|
No. Extreme is the worst looking Final Form IMO as well. As far as the main Riders go. Nothing can top DiEnds final form though.

And I don't think so. Ultimate's black with gold accents really worked. Just black with shoulder pads of doom. Rising Ultimate felt like they chopped up Blade King Form and super glued it to Kuuga. |

wat do u mean he was totally evil wen he got that form

And worst final form? Not CJX. I'd have to go with Accel Booster or Kabuto Hyper. |
gatack hyper's worst

If we're including non-main characters, then Diend Complete takes this by a mile. |
Rising Ultimate is a mess. The real Ultimate Kuuga is a beautiful suit with the black and all the gold lines. Rising Ultimate looks like someone let Xzibit take Kuuga to a body shop and go nuts on him. The whole concept of the suit doesn't even make sense if you know how Kuuga's Rising and Ultimate forms worked. I don't even count it as a final form - it's just some terrible thing that should have never been (yes, I'm totally getting the Kiwami Tamashii).
For my money, the worst final forms are Decade Complete and Climax Den-O. Again, both of them are kind of a mess. The huge card row on Decade's chest is incredibly silly while the masks all over Den-O look ridiculous. |

Just rewatched the Ryuki arc of Decade. I still love how completely stupid that world's rules are.
"So you're accused of murder? Okay, we're going to let a bunch of dudes beat the crap out of each other with swords, flamethrowers, and gigantic shoulder-mounted cannons. Whoever wins decides if you're guilty or innocent." I can't even begin to fathom how anyone would think that was a workable legal system. :lol |

The only thing I would want to know is, if the rider who won declared the criminal guilty, does their contract monster get to eat that criminal?

I got a quick Blade question.
The Evolution King monsters all seem to be similar kinds of creatures as their corresponding Ace, so what are the Diamond, Spade, and Heart Kings? The King of Clubs is the Tarantula, and the King of Spades has a different horn set up than Blade's (My best guess is the Rhino beetle or caucasus, but I honestly have no idea), but I have no idea what the King of Spades is supposed to be (Since Garren has the stag beetle), and I don't think the King of Hearts even appeared (Still have 3 episodes left, however), but I'm not sure what it is either, since it's card looks just like the Change Mantis for Chalice. |

"Paradoxa" eh? Alright.
So I was right on King of Spades, it's a Caucasus beetle. And King of Clubs is Giraffa? Well, thanks to Google, I learned that Paradoxa is commonly known as the "Ghost Mantis", and Giraffa is the Giraffe Stag beetle :lol Thanks! I knew the Queen and Jack, it was just that the Kings were all the same kind of animal, so I was just a little confused. |
no problem.

Well, just finished Blade (Sans movie).
This ending wasn't as rough on the heartstrings as more recent series, but it was still very emotional and well done. So, is the movie an AU movie or is it canon? And I totally want a deck of the Undead cards :lol Greatest game of poker, ever! |

Come to think of it, that's not much of an answer lol. |

Missing Ace is an AU. It takes place in a version of Blade where Kenzaki sealed Hajime. |
Yeah, Missing Ace is okay at best. The opening fight between Joker and Blade is awesome, but the movie just destroys Tachibana's character in the same manner that Anakin destroyed Vader. You do get to see a couple of Undeads you did not get to see during the series (such as Blade's transformation card).

Hibiki spoilers:
Okay, seriously, what the hell just happened? Who the hell were the Douji and Hime? What was their point? Why did they just off the Black and White people? Why are they feeding Makamous? Why was there a European set of the duo? Why are the summer Makamous fighting in January? WHAT THE HELL WAS UP WITH THE "LAST BATTLE?!!!" For a final episode, it raised more freaking questions than it gave answers to. There was not even a final fight, it just left off like a normal episode. Who the **** wrote this ****!!? It took me 7 god damn years to finally watch this show and it was god damned awful. You know what, I take back what I said before, this show IS worse than Decade. Don't get me wrong. The show had some really great ideas. The first half was okay, but it had style, music, lighting, camera angles, and creativity to it. The second half of the show throws in slapstick comedy, new characters, got rid of everything that made the first half good, and then insults us by not answering a single friggin question. And how the hell is Hitomi still alive when she was under water for a long ass time?! Why did Akira just suddenly quit wanting to be an Oni? I actually enjoyed the Forest of Kodoma two parter, that was really well done. Same goes for the Zanki goodbye episodes, but what the hell is the Orochi? Why is it such a big threat? What does it have to do with the Makamou? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??!!!!!! |
Hibiki's finale was literally being written as it was filmed. The last nineteen episodes are just a total mess. It's a real pity as the first 29 episodes form what is, hands down, the best Heisei era Rider show - if not the best Kamen Rider series ever (it's always hard for me to make the call between this and Black for best Rider show ever).
|
Hmm...I'm torn between watching Faiz or Hibiki first...I've heard of Faiz's horror stories (The "Kamen Rider soap opera", the piss poor communication between characters, etc), but then there's Hibiki's whole writing staff change that apparently really brought it down...

The problem with Hibiki's first 20 episodes is that it takes forever for anything to happen, the fight scenes are few and far, Asumu is unbearable to watch (I wish someone would have just killed the kid), and the Makamou look down right awful. This show should not have been a year long series in all honesty. Each two parter could have easily been told in one episode. Hibiki was one show that felt like it should have been 26 episodes, but was forced into the year long format. I personally think Toei should remake Hibiki, but do it as its own shown, show it at night time ala Garo, and have it be about 26 episodes. I bet it would be A LOT better in that format. |

Blade is such a good series. Why didn't anyone tell me it was so good :p
Anyway, I forgot to mention, I finished the Blade movie and HBV. The movie was just...Meh. L'Arc and Lance were generic character archetypes (Snappy bitch and needlessly aggressive punk), and Glaive was odd. He was called the nicest guy ever and the first 5 minutes tried to prove it, but for the rest of the movie he was a total ass. Anyway, being AU, I do find it nice to see how things would have gone if the ending was changed. However, if there's one thing I do enjoy that the newer series are doing, it's the canon movies. I know it's a pain because the show references the movie around the time they air in theaters, and subs for them always come out a couple months after the series ends, but it's still nice to see a continuation of the story, instead of a "What if" scenario. With an ending like Blade's, an actual canon continuation through movie would've been nice. Also, did Junichi's/Glaive's actor reprise his role in Decade? As for the HBV, it's par for the course. Like all the HBVs, there's one shining moment that makes me bust a gut. This time, it was Mutsuki and Tachibana arguing over who helped Kenzaki the most. :lol |
Still making my way through Faiz, although I don't think I've watched any for about a month. I just have no desire too, it took me long enough to get to episode 23.. So eh who knows.
I mean the first episode was so WTF all over that place that it put me off it a bit. Then the second episode up to about 10 or 11 I thought were awesome. It just seems like for the past however many episodes that the story is stuck on a metaphorical treadmill, it's moving but not actually going anywhere. I want to finish it though as I really like Faiz blaster form's design, but at the moment it's pretty dull going. |
Watched A-Z last night, and its definitely one of my favourite toku movies I've seen so far. I came out of it wanting the Eternal, Joker and Cyclone Joker Xtreme Gold Figuarts, so it must have done something right to make me want a version of Xtreme :lol
And then of course I'm upto episode 44 of W itself, which has gotten really good since the plot has kicked into overdrive. My only real complaint is that I figured out the Philip and Shroud plot twists way before they happened (the Philip one like 20-25 episodes before it was revealed) but that didn't really make them any less satisfying to see unfold onscreen. |
I must be broken or something. I've never really cared for A-Z aside from the solo Shotaro stuff in it. Him becoming Joker is really awesome. And that was about it for me. I don't like Never or Eternal or any of the T2 dopant designs. The new characters felt like such throwaways and like they were just so generally unimportant and uninteresting. I always see people who seem to have a rabbid love for Eternal and I can never really understand why. Maybe it's just me but I hated the character and I thouhgt his solo movie was one of the worst rider films I've ever seen.

Hours later edit: Just watched the Faiz episodes of Decade. I'd forgotten how good those were - probably one of the better Rider worlds. The main thing, though, was that I learned something I'd never heard before: one of the four members of Luck Clover - the leader guy whose Orphenoch form I don't remember from 555 itself - was played by the same guy that played Ankh. |
Just watched the last few episodes of W. I don't know if its because I've known about it for ages and so was expecting it, but Philip's death didn't hit me nearly as hard as Kengo's did in Fourze. Not that I thought W could have played it out any better, I just obviously have a heart of stone :lol
The Utopia Dopant two-parter also felt a bit tacked on, but I guess it was justified in setting up that excellent epilogue, which is was definitely one of my favourite episodes of the show. I don't know if I could pick between W and Fourze because I liked them both for different reasons even if in the end they were quite similar, but it was a fantastic show nonetheless. |
As if Gekiranger wasn't unconventional enough, I've moved a little further in Hibiki. Why didn't anybody tell me there was a high school-ish setting? I'm a sucker for that stuff.
I'm kinda annoyed by the fighting scenes, if only from a photographic standpoint, because it's so glaringly obvious that they're shining moving spotlights at the characters. The glowing effect gets kind of bothersome. Beyond that, it's cool. |

I'm a third of the way through Hibiki (episode 10 :p). I love how the opening theme is primarily trumpet when Ibuki shows up. I'm not really getting why Asumu is so obsessed with Hibiki though. I'd understand if it were a mild fascination, but going full-on Dr. Livingstone and walking through the forest just to tell him that he got into Jounan was a bit... excessive. Especially if he spent the rest of his time there moping about Akira saying harsh words to him, which she then took back for no apparent reason.
