I see no reason for Joker to be in the SS movie. First off, there are plenty of other characters who have yet to even be featured in the movies. Secondly, the cast is already big enough being a team movie, so putting characters who aren't part of the team is over stuffing it. But then, that seems to be the theme of the upcoming DC movieverse, cram as many characters as you can into a single movie. Who gives a crap about pacing and character development. In fact, that is why these movies will never be even half as good as Arrow and Flash. This weeks crossovers shows they worked so great because they characters have been given the chance to be developed ahead of time, on their own. Teaming them up just added to their development, but it also did not take away from what was already established.

Arrow - Simply amazing, that is all.

World's End isn't objectively terrible or anything, but DC needs to let that brand move on from just being about heroes fighting Apokolips. We just finished that storyline in the main book with Steppenwolf and Bizarro being defeated, finally freeing Earth 2 from Darkseid's followers. It was a good story that had a solid, if somewhat rushed conclusion. And then it was immediately followed by another invasion from Apokolips. And it's not even using any established Apokolips characters. Desaad is there, yes, but no one else from Darkseid's inner circle is around. For fuck's sake, the Female Furies are playing a huge role in this story but there's no Granny Goodness, no Lashina, no Mad Harriet, none of the established Furies are present besides Barda. It's incredibly frustrating that the book can't seem to let go of telling Apokolips invasion stories, but can't bother to actually use Apokolips properly at the same time.

I will admit that it's nice to see more Earth 2 characters showing up (Brainwave Jr., Obsidian, Jonni Thunder, and finally Ted Grant), but it's not enough. Earth 2 was supposed to be about setting up a new world with new versions of the JSA characters, not month after month of New Gods stuff. I loved this book when it came out and I am deeply frustrated by what DC is squandering all of its potential on.

And don't even get me started on how useless the actual Earth 2 book is right now. It's not allowed to do anything important so it's just wasting paper on random villain backgrounds and spin-off adventures for side characters who shouldn't even be in this universe.

That is because I have no faith in DC. They are making terrible casting choices. They are rushing their movies just to catch up to Marvel instead of taking their time. They also couldn't make a Jonah Hex movie. When you can't make the simplest character of all time into even an average movie, there is a problem. How can I have faith in a company that does not respect their own source material? They have all of these top notch writers for TV and animation, but instead of using them for their movies, they hire these nobodies who know absolutely nothing about their properties outside of a name.

This phrase needs to die. People whip it out whenever someone has opinions that differ from their own and it just drags a whole conversation down and kills any form of debate. It's a lazy cop out.

I have never seen any movies get so much hate during preproduction as the D.C. movies and it seems very unfair for this strong of hate before any story information gets out. Seriously?

Well nothing what they announce manages to excite alot of people. So when DC announces a new cast member, story details etc. they want feedback and in this case its mostly negative.

You cant call people a bunch of haters just because they arent happy about what DC is doing. Yes you could say then they shouldnt say anything and wait till the movie is out but then you would have to say the same thing about the guys that are overly positive. Being overly positive about such a project can be as annoying as people that or overly negative.

If you dont like a certain opinion just discuss it with someone instead just calling everyone out as being a hater just because he doesnt like the direction a movie seems to be going.

I don't even get how this is going to work. At least Gotham has the fact it has Batman characters in it, this on the other hand is just going to be made up of Jor-El, Zod and a bunch of other nameless Kryptonians.

If there is one thing they should do in this show than its really explore how Jor-El knew that Kal-El would develop superpowers on earth.

I think that's the one good thing about it in a specific way. "Oh, we got cancelled after the first season? Well I guess we know what our finale will be!"

As for DC rushing their movies, I don't know if it's rushing so much as they know their tv series are hits (Well Flash and Arrow at least). I'm going to give Batman v. Superman a chance. A chance. I can see why they put Joker in SS, but I never said it was a good choice. That's why I say I think it's more they just don't care more then it's them taking their time.

They seem to just try to use star power to sell their movies when their tv series is more focused on characters and acting. I love the instant chemistry between Barry and Oliver when they first meet after becoming heroes. It felt like they were brothers.

Probably used to save money compared to the hefty pricetag Russel Crowe would command.

Well is it confirmed that this will be in the same continuity as Man of Steel? Its not like DC doesnt already have alot of tv shows on the air that are not connected to the movies.

From what I've seen from the IGN breakdown, the writer wants to connect it more to Man of Steel.Plus, Kal-El's grandfather is an unexplored time period altogether.

Look... I like the Arrow mid season finale. I do. I really do.

But it is really distracting having a Ra's al Ghul in charge of a League of Assassins where all of the assassins have Arabic names and Ra's himself is not Arabic.

When Liam Neeson was Ra's al Ghul, he was in charge of a League of nameless soldiers. With Matt Nable, he has to say the names of all of his assassins. And he cannot pronounce them correctly. Not at all.

Also, A.T.O.M./OMAC. It is cool. I want to see it.

Even without the race aspect he just feels... completely non-threatening.
Guy seems to be a talented actor, but he feels so off in that role.

And then he started speaking Arabic, and... no. Just... No.

I thought "Ra's al Ghul" was Arabic.

It is.

And no one pronounces it correctly.

No one.

Even most fans who complain about it don't pronounce it correctly.

I'm not 100% sold on the guy, but he does have the feel of Ra's. I wish they would just make his hair and beard resemble the comics though because right now it just seems like it is just a guy cosplaying as Ra's rather than just Ra's. However, Denny O'Neil has given his approval on this version of Ra's, so that is good enough for me.

I dunno, I think his whole "incredibly calm and non threatening, but will kill you almost instantly" works for this interpretation of Ra's. Sure the race thing is a bit of a misstep, but the actor is doing a good job of things so far.

He definitely has an imposing presence. I just can't take him seriously when he's speaking Arabic.

Bought Forever Evil today and I really enjoyed reading it. Its the first current DC book I read in a looooooong time but I enjoyed the ride.

The Story has its fair share of problems but I didnt mind them so much to be honest. It was just a fun ride and made me really interested in getting some other more current DC books that I missed.

Forever Evil itself was pretty decent. The only part about it I didn't care for was how badly it hijacked the Justice League books during its run. Justice League of America, in particular, ended right after this event and half of its entire run was just Stargirl and Martian Manhunter stuck in psychic prison.
