Probably not. I like him, personally. He breaks status quo as well as the norm for 6th rangers in general.

His fights are fun, albeit he is extremely overpowered.

Everything else I could care less for.

I just enjoy him overall. He's the KR Beast of this series, in a sense, subverting his normal character archetype while being fun and interesting to watch.

So yeah, come episode 20, he'll probably get old, but at the moment, I like what I see.

Is Wizard any good by the way? I've been looking for somewhere to jump in with KR that isn't W and I'm wondering if the newest series is the best place to start.

Oh...You should probably dip your toe in it and try it. It's certainly a mixed bag. I think it's extremely lacking, personally, until Beast shows up.

While I cannot say I like the way they are treating the gold ranger, the plotting has been well done thus far and we have gotten some good character development. More has happened in this show's 11 episodes than Go-Buster did in 50. Is it the greatest Sentai show ever? No. However, it is a very enjoyable one and better than most of the crap we have gotten in the last 10 years. It is already superior to the likes of Go-On, Gosei, and Shinken.

Locke, Wizard is awesome. Not as good as W or Fourze, but vastly superior to OOO and I mostly liked OOO. It does have a slow start, but that is just how most of the KR series work these days until the second rider appears, then things get moving. My only real problem with the show is how lackluster Koyomi is. After episode 4, she serves no purpose and should have been killed off month's ago. I know people complain about Haruto's characterization, but honestly, sure, it isn't deep, but he reminds me a lot of the riders from the Showa days. Those riders never really received too much development outside of the "Oh woe is me, I am a cyborg or something, so I must fight evil" either. I mean, I Kotaro is my favorite rider, but he is exactly the same character in episode 51 that he is in episode 2.

Yeah the show is all over the map. You have these extremely mature and adult episodes, you have these extremely fillerly and kiddy episodes, you spend time establishing a villain and defeat them with a terrible joke etc etc

Not to mention that pretty much every aspect of the show is rushed to the point where it has no meaning.

I don't think this show is better than Shinkenger at all and I have no idea why everyone is bumming it so hard.

So should I jump in with Wizard then? I was told to start with W but I watched the first ten episodes and wasn't feeling it, I've been looking for a way in ever since.

I don't know if I like Shinkenger or Kyoryuger better! They're really, really different and I really enjoyed Shinkenger and am really enjoying Kyoryuger.

Which established enemy are you referring to with "defeated with a terrible joke"? Nobody immediately springs to mind but its not the first time you've mentioned it, am I forgetting something?

The disease guy. He was introduced at the end of one episode really dramatically so I was like 'oh shit, finally a general that will add some tension to this show!'

Then the next episode he was defeated by a gag and I was just like, 'oh, that was pointless'.
