Weather nerf doesn't make abilities illegal. Limits the usefulness though, and determining its use depends on who's packing it and which alternatives you have.

Well on smogon the had it banned it in gen IV and V due to weather going until it was changed

So in the anime that I have no interest in watching regularly, what's the deal with Serena and Ash so far? Is she just another companion or are the writers giving a big neon middle finger to PokéShippers?

I saw a post on Facebook involving an official magazine involving Pokemon that there will apparently be an eventual relationship between Ash & Serena later on in the Kalos Saga.

I doubt that.
They intentionally keep Ash from aging and Pikachu as a character to experience continual growth (Hence it losing battles despite it should being able to steamroll most enemies at this point) because they want Ash to be a "Timeless" character, which is something a relationship alters.

Honestly the way Serena is around Ash, especially when she "reunited" with him, which honestly was one big pile of BS by the creators of the Pokemon anime, she might end up with him, hell it might make the timeless character thing work better, if it can work in a movie, it should work in an anime, I think :lol.

But then we'd run the risk of a Pokemon version of One More Day.

Well, look at the random kids animes that sadly NEVER add romance: The new Beyblade Metal Saga seasons, anything B-Daman related, & a lot of the Pokemon animes. Honestly the ONLY kids anime that even tried to add a relationship to a timeless character was the original Beyblade series having the whole Hilary Tachibana x Tyson Granger thing, that's about it. I would really like to see Ash actually end up with Serena especially given how dense he was with the feelings that: Misty, May, Dawn, hell even Iris had for him, but that's just me probably.

Misty, May, and Dawn never expressed any form of attraction towards Ash.
It's not being dense. They never had any interest in him like that.
They may have reacted with mild embarrassment when a random character implied that they were an item, but that was just because the situation itself is awkward.

*I can't comment on Iris because I didn't pay enough attention to her.

It's kind of odd that Venusaur has always been my least favorite Kanto starter, but Mega Venusaur is one of my (If not my) most used Mega Evolutions :lol

Speed Boost's advantages plus Blaziken's naturally high offensive stats means that a player has to bring a hard counter specifically for it.

so I'm trying to understand Twitch Plays Pokemon.

The concept of it sounds fine on paper, but I've went into the stream a few times and it is just pure chaos.

Something as simple as walking in a straight line becomes a chore, and I don't even want to imagine what puzzles would be like.

I don't know…if it were me trying to participate, it would frustrate me to no end.

Which was, of course, proved canon in both the games and anime.

the chaos or rather anarchy is the point. now i do agree with you as i can't watch tne stream either due to how frustrated i get but it is funny to see them fail to even get their pokemon healed

It really boils down to whether or not you follow Smogon's rules.
Aside from the legendaries who aren't in their "Uber" tier, it only really affects Mega Blaziken, Gengar, and Kangaskhan (Since I believe their bans on the likes of Excadrill and Garchomp were lifted).

There is a reason why it took them 16 days to finish Red version :lol
