Pretty much, my order has been in preparation for a whole week. Five working days. But that is still more than the 'three working days or less' that those have claimed on this forum. They said they'll look into it and get it sent out as soon as possible but that is about as vague and generic a response as you can get.

Yeah, I've never had Nippon Yasan hold on to an order for that long and I've ordered every Web Exclusive since Deka Pink and Yellow from them. I'd be getting very angry. My Kyoryu Gold was in Preparation for only a day and a half.

I was admittedly kinda scared they'd just ignore my email and run off with my money, as you pay up front with them.

You see, that's why I'm not keen on using those Asian markets. I'm sure they're fine for most of you, but I'd be upset if my order was just languishing overseas and I've already paid. Especially if like Gaga said some folks have already either gotten their order or confirmed its en route.

Because nothing like that could possibly happen domestically, amirite. :eyebrow I've had a domestic package that took seven years to be delivered to me, I've been left waiting for months by a couple domestic sellers without a care, I've been ripped off twice by Europeans... risk neither starts nor ends at any nation's border.

I just had a USPS Priority Mail take 3 months to arrive and prior to that had an American store take nearly a month to SHIP 2 figures and they, unlike NY, ignored all my emails.

Nippon Yasan have definitely made a mistake with Locke and that should be considered when choosing a seller, but every store does make mistakes, even giant ones like BBTS, Amiami and (especially) HLJ. As Locke said, they are responding to messages so clearly are trustworthy and are hopefully making sure Locke is treated right and if they didn't, that's what Paypal exists for. I own about 60 Figuarts and about 30 Sentai Mecha, all from either Amiami, Mandarake, HEJ or Nippon Yasan and all received within 2 and a half years and I've never had a problem except with HLJ, who just suck in general (nothing to do with being Asian though).

Ohhhh yeah. It was a bubblewrap envelope and was so old that the postmark was nearly entirely faded off. It was just barely visible enough to confirm by looking at past postal rates for its weight that it was as old as it was, down to the month. It had been so long that I had forgotten I was ever expecting it, so I never brought its absence up with the seller - wasn't his fault either, just a freak accident with the postal system misplacing it. A lot.

If it helps to know, it took them exactly seven days to send out my order and they never bothered to reply to my email at all. Still waiting for the package to arrive, but I'm at least feeling a bit better about it now. I still doubt I'll order anything from them again.

If it were a simple mistake, I wouldn't mind, but between here and Rangerboard, it seems to be a very common occurrence, not to mention things I've heard from other message boards about them randomly cancelling orders.

My order of Kyoryu Blue/Green with NY went into the "Preparation in progress" status on 3/10 and didn't change until 3/26.

The more I hear about NY the more of a horror story it sounds, even if it works out in the end, which is a shame, as they seem to have preorders on stuff open way beyond other sites. Maybe I'll just wait and get Tricera on Mandrake rather than ordering it from them.

I haven't had too many issues with them. I'm on the side that has smooth transactions. One time an order was in prep for about a week, but all the others were just a couple days.

I've had precisely one issue with Nippon-Yasan that was a problem on their end, and that was with the recent Impact Effect pieces. (For the record, it's my ninth pre-order with them that has been released, there are a ton more pending.) It sat in preparation for three days, which is when I emailed them and the package was sent the next day.

They just recently revamped their contact system and I think you have to put in tickets now to get quick responses for those not hearing back. I think at least some of these stories about cancellations spring from the fact that people order items with different release dates and don't realize payment is due before the first item comes in, I didn't with my first order from them.

In general, as I've said before, they often seem to run about a week behind other retailers in getting new release stuff sent out and I guess that's just them getting in hand. They aren't the fastest, but I've never had an opportunity to be disappointed with them. So, if anyone is tallying horror stories vs satisfied customers, I'm definitely one of the latter.

I read somewhere that to get a quicker response from N-Y, don't email them, instead write to them in the comment section of your order details. My order was in preparation for a couple of days but after I wrote to them they shipped it out the next day. Whether or not that was just a fluke is another question though.

Ok so the on,y toku related figuarts I got on preorder is on amazon.com and there all the MMPR figuarts.

Oh yeah NY hasn't been a "bad" experience for me in the most literal of terms, but paying up front kinda sucks and it especially sucks that this is the first time I've had an order oddly sat in limbo at the same time. I mean stuff sits in limbo at HLJ all the time too, but they haven't also got my money. I'm not too worried and don't wanna come across like I'm trashing NYs name, as said I'm not at the panic stage yet. But shops like Ami Ami, Hobbysearch and Mandrake etc just seem to be a lot more no nonsense, I've been using them for years and have never had an issue. Stuff taking AGES to get through customs, aside, which isn't their fault anyway.

How early did they make you pay? They usually allow you to wait until the day or so before the item releases.

For Exclusives they ask about a week before release.

Still, not too bad overall. CS Toys, for example, requires full payment up front.

You had up until a week before the release date, but I just went ahead and paid up front as it really made no real difference. They held my money for like two weeks...or one week...err.

While on the topic of order "delays" of various sorts...I finally received a payment request from AmiAmi for my March order that had everything in stock since Thursday night/Friday, which is the longest I've had to wait for a shipping calculation/payment request (and only after emailing them to ask when I'd get the payment request).

Personally I think something like this only qualifies as a "horror" story if you never end up receiving your item(s) ordered, or have to go to great lengths to make sure you get them (like opening a dispute and/or having to antagonize a seller into shipping you what you ordered). Delays happen, unfortunately. I've had nothing but good experiences with Nippon Yasan. I like Mandarake as well, but I've had minor delay issues come up with orders from them too.

I guess it's just unfortunate that the first time I've had a delay of this kind - HLJ doesn't count - it's with a site that wants money up front first. It probably wouldn't feel so bad if that wasn't the case.

I've only had two things ordered from Nippon-Yasan & both things arrived & the second one was the Ryu Ranger pre-order from May of last year it a few days late, but that was because it was a Japanese holiday when Ryu Ranger was gonna ship, I payed up front right when I pre-ordered it. I'm using BBTS for pre-orders now even if I have to wait till the month after an item's release, it's worth it cause I can for it without my grandpa's help now :3.

Renewal Kabuto is in Chicago today, being delivered tomorrow :D

Hopefully my latest SHF will be here tomorrow as well, or at least that was what Amazon said about it, and my entire order.

After what seems like forever, Ucchy finally arrived from N-Y today! He looks awesome with the other Kyoryus. Looking forward to Amy and Ian even more now. I'm so happy with how these have turned out, I'd almost buy Carnival if they released it. Almost.

Wasn't being racist, just saying that's the bulk of the fandoms buying market. I don't care where it's coming from, I just want it to work. I hear pretty good things about Mandarake, so I'm seriously considering them, but for my current financial & ethical needs, I stick with what's worked for me. If I have a problem here stateside I stand a better chance getting a solution. Aside from paypal, any international orders are more likely subject to ramping foul ups, at least in my eyes.

What did your NY order have in it? I'm currently dealing with the same exact issue with my pre-order for S.H.Figuarts KyoryuBlue/Green 2 Pack and Kyoryu Gold. I emailed them last night and haven't heard anything back. Today would be the 6th business day of "processing" for me.

I didn't think it would be such a problem, seeing as I've ordered from them in the past with no real big issues.

It's also worrying to point out but since getting that reply from them, my order STILL hasn't changed and been shipped out and I get time zones and all that but it's getting pretty close to a full twenty four hours and still nothing has moved.

I got my Kabuto renewal in today and he's great as expected. I can only levy 3 minor complains against him:
-The forward ab movement could be greater(you can make it go farther but you have to move the lower chest armor in front of the belt)
-The change to figma-style wrists
-The hands fall out of the holder too often.

The figma style wrist was made cause of the joint that the hands on regular figuarts go breaking on figures owned by the majority who fuck up the figure but want to say the FIGURE is to blame, aka people who are lazy & just complain, & I deal with those types of people everyday in real life & it gets mother fucking annoying .-.

I made a separate March order for Kabuto 2.0 since I had placed the Kyoryuger pre-order almost a month before. They actually shipped Kabuto 2.0 last night, which had only been processing for 2 business days. This is starting to make me believe they might have accepted too many orders for the Kyoryu figuarts.

Maybe. I did wonder how they managed to have preorders open long after everyone else. Not really sure what to do now though, I mean I already waited a week last time to message them, how long do I wait this time? Do I get more forceful next time, ask for compensation or just a full refund?

Did you just email them or did you open a ticket via the website system?
