Weird, my Gold shipped on the 26th. I do tend to pay earlier than necessary though, usually at the beginning of the release month. I've never had an issue, except for occasional communication delay. Now that they have the ticket system in place communication should be better- it was for anyway. Though I've spent a lot of money with N-Y.. lol.

Some people seem to have gotten kinda defensive, as I won't be using them again as this was very unprofessional of them, but if you like them or have had good experiences then I am happy for you. I don't mean to offend anyone, but just personally for me this has put me off for life. Quote:

I'm actually shocked how easy this preorder was at AmiAmi, got everything without a fuss

Is anybody else having issues ordering the new figuarts from AmiAmi right now? I have Leangle in my cart but when I try to check out I get a server error.
|
Try it now, after a lot of refreshing my Robo Rider order has gone through.
|
Well, got Leangle and Robo Rider from AmiAmi...took forever considering it kept failing to log me in on both IE and Chrome. Thankfully they both hung around in stock long enough to get both after 15 minutes of waiting.
|
After almost 30 minutes of failure, I was finally able to get my Leangle order to go through :D

I see you're still having the same problem. Just a suggestion. Was listening to my fave podcast, The 404, and last week they mentioned a minor quake in Japan (I believe it was the week of the 14th). Don't know for sure, but this might have had an impact on shipping. Just FYI for those going throughout the N-Y issues. |

Zack and Kim have shipped, worked out to about thirty five quid each including shipping. Which is not a fantastic deal, but as webshop exclusives on the aftermarket I feel I could have been crippled a lot more.

The wait for the Kyoryugers is gonna be killer.
I'm waiting for Ian and Amy to come out before I ship out the whole crew. But even then that won't happen till May as I also got the RG Exia repair pack on order. |

You know I have a great example that puts Locke's Nippon Yasan issue into perspective. About a year and a half ago I ordered a Red Buster on clearance at HLJ, they were like 1300 yen. I went with SAL shipping, got the order all paid up, then patiently waited. A day later, it ships! Which is great because as we all know SAL can take forever.
However, when I look at the confirmation e-mail they've sent me, they mailed the package to an address I hadn't lived at for 2 years. Imagine my freak out moment where I'm frantically emailing customer support trying to talk to anyone who can fix this. They had my current address on file, there was no reason at all they should have mailed it to my old address. I explained the entire thing in a couple of emails and that I'd like the situation to be rectified. Their response was that they couldn't do anything about it. The package was already shipped. If/when it was returned to them as non-deliverable they would be happy to resend it to me. A refund was out of the question, even though this bungle wasn't my fault they refused to refund me. Their suggestion was to contact the new residents of that address and ask them to intercept the package on my behalf. Which is possibly the worst advice I've ever been given. It was a college address. I didn't live in that dorm anymore, my wife and I had gotten married and moved away. So trust me, even the big retailers can screw you. I never received that Red Buster, it was never returned to them, and to this day they will not refund me for it. It may have been pretty cheap but it's the principle of the thing. |
Holy crap. That is a seriously high level customer service failure, Den-O. I spent like a decade (no pun intended) in customer service fields and that's the kind of garbage that would have gotten someone reamed who worked for me.

Oh yeah it all turned out okay in the end, honestly it was as much my fault and I admit that. I shouldn't have put down one of my most expensive orders on a site I had never used before, that was silly of me. Chasing preorders around is a pain, paying after market prices is even more painful but from my experience turning to other unexplored options isn't better.
I wont be using NY again, and I openly admit it was just as much my mistake, if you guys like them that is fine and if you guys have had worse experiences with other retailers I believe you. But this is the first bad experience I've had, with my first ever expensive order, with the first time of using a site. If that doesn't say something, then I'm not sure what will. |
Ah hells yeah, I got to place my BBTS Leangle preorder, now all that's left is Hibiki for the rider figuarts & my life will be 35% complete :lol.

Good thing the only SHF I wanted is non-toku so of course is still available...But now I debate ordering it on AmiAmi or waiting for Amazon. |
Sorry for clogging the thread, I just didn't know where else to go, we have a weird tendency to just smash things into single threads in this place. Maybe I should make a dedicated thread for order/shipping issues and queries just in case there is a next time. So the problems can be discussed outside of our love for toys.
|
Geez, some places even had the Effects parts sold out and I totally missed Robo Rider. Ah, well. My pre-orders this year are getting out of hand at this point anyway.
|
I agree, I'd also like a TFW-style review forum would be good for discussing and reviewing individual toys. Its a bit difficult when some people are discussing Kyoryu Pink and Black and others are discussing Kamen Rider Zangetsu while others talk about stores and others discuss speculation on new Figuarts at the same time and everything just sort of collides into one. That way we could have some hands-on photos outside of the Cool Stuff Threads (to stop them from getting clogged up by non-photo/photo appreciation) plus a place for specific discussion of new Toku toys (Figuarts or otherwise). It'd be good for this thread to be just general Figuarts discussion and speculation and some separate threads for reviewing figures and then another for specific queries.
I dunno, that's just me though, I still love the forum the way things are now though and maybe the Toku community isn't big enough to justify it... |
Oh yeah I love this forum too, but there are times when threads get REALLY busy. Not just here, but in some of the more general discussion threads too and sometimes I think it may make sense to spread things a little thinner. Your suggestions sound good.
|
The galleries section is more or less meant to be for reviews by staff. We aren't really at a point where having a dedicated sub forum specifically for reviews from the community is entirely necessary. These threads aren't really meant for it either. Just for general discussion of the topics, maybe mentions of problems and such.
In the future we'd probably like to have something like a reviews section though. |

I've been in like the Kamen Rider thread before where like eight conversations are happening at once and it just seems odd we don't have a thread dedicated to each series, rather than one big thread where everyone is talking over everyone. |
Dang it, when did Leangel go up on AmiAmi? I was going to try to preorder him too when he went up. Oh well, I'll just wait for Amazon.

Bad news from Bluefin's twitter on Gaim figuarts.

It would have been nice had they told us that MONTHS ago before they went up for preorder in Japan.
I just don't understand why these are suddenly a no go when they have been doing everything else Kamen Rider. I could understand the web exclusives, but not the retail ones. |

No Gaim?! Im about to cry my eyes out now man.

I've never waited for Bluefin because living in the UK doesn't really effect me, though who have they released in the past? It just seems odd if they were to release Gaim if there's no material to support it in the west.

They release Ultraman stuff and Ultraman is no different then Kamen Rider. Ultraman didn't had a TV show since 2003. Kamen Rider has a decent enough fans that can support Kamen Rider figuarts in the US. Streaming sites did help Kamen Rider become morenpopular since 2009 or 2010.
