That was pretty good, I know people were disappointed in Dino Super Charge, but the reason I like Linkara's view is because he watches the shows all at once and has no preconceptions based on what the Sentai did.
Now to wait two years for Ninja Steel. :D |
It was pretty good, and also only 80 minutes, a much easier viewing as opposed to the 3 hours SMF was.
I ended up dropping Dino Charge when they transitioned to Super, so I didn't really know about the ending, other than people being really disappointed by it, and I can see why. Huh...That's a strange way to go. I didn't know much about Heckyl's character, but looking at his frosted tips, he would've made a great Navy Ranger, which also ties into the Dark Energem, since Deathryuger was evil, at first. Oh well. I generally agree with his overview of the show. In hindsight, it did seem like it was specifically trying to fix widely complained points about SMF. Also, thank fuck, he's talking about the zords again. I don't remember if he talked about them in Samurai or SMF, so if he did, my bad :lol |

Lets f*cking go! |
Was so excited to see a new episode up. Was wondering when he was gonna get around to it.
I never really got around to Dino Charge, mostly due to my massive hate boner for Kyoryuger. It does look like it was an overall pretty decent season though, I may go and give it an actual watch sometime. That ending though, as bad as when I first heard about it. |
I kind of hoped this would be another three hour long rant on how bad Dino (Super)Charge was, but to be fair, it was a definite improvement over (Super) Megaforce. On its own, I would say Dino (Super)Charge was just average. Not groundbreakingly good, nor facepalmingly bad. So I do agree with his review.
I also read the interviews Linkara was referring to, which were really enlightening on why the quality of (Super) Samurai and (Super) Megaforce was not so great. As Linkara already told, it more or less came to Tzachor regarding character development as boring, while wanting to cram as much action in an episode at the expense of "boring" character moments. Below are links to them: (Super) Samurai Megaforce Super Megaforce |
Having only seen the first three or four episodes of the show, it was nice to finally get to see how this all ended. Looks like things turned out pretty well; I may go back and finish the show at some point now that it's on Netflix. Heckyl, in particular, looks like a really fun character that I'd like to see in action.
I think Linkara seriously overthought the ending, though. That is a lot of time spent trying to reconcile something that was clearly meant to just be a silly plot twist. |

The problem is that Linkara still treats PR like it's one big continuity, when it clearly stopped around Lightspeed Rescue.
Yeah, the crossovers, but they rarely do anything pertinent for the plot... ...And then they have a relevant crossover and throws that out the window, but you get what I mean... |

Talking about continuity and seeing how it all fits is fun, though. His idea that Time Force developers after this blatant fuckery of history is a neat idea.
