Which, knowing how that and Rainbow Six went, the finished Wildlands will likely bear very little resemblance to the version teased and it'll be a couple of years before it actually sees the light of day. Still, an open-world military shooter is an interesting prospect, and this is coming from someone who's bored to death of the the MS genre.

I don't think "stagnant" is quite the right word here. F-Zero's a vegetable at this point.

I think the best they can do for now is invest as much as they can into the NX and then present it next year with a killer launch lineup.

I say wait 2-3 years before launching the NX.
because they need a big lineup.
and they can still support the WiiU.
nothing stopping third party companies from using it.

I just hope Nintendo has finally learned it's lesson about releasing sub-par hardware that relies on gimmicks*Wii* or gimping otherwise great hardware with an outdated or weak software medium*N64 and Gamecube*.

I hope Nintendo will drop the gimmicks with the NX and do a normal gaming console again. With the Wii U, they try to repeat the same gimmick in 2006 with the motion control gimmick. By 2012, no one give a shit about motion controls. I do miss the days when Nintendo was still view on the same rank as Sony and MS during the Gamecube era. They where still big in the mid-late 90's since the N64 was the second most popular console next to the PS1 from 1995 - 2000 at that time.

My guess is that E3 2016 will be about the NX and Nintendo will try to release it sometime in 2017. It won't surprise me if the PS5 and X4 will be out by 2018. We normally get two console generations in the same decade.

I think it would be smart to release the NX the same year it is announced. Pretty much like Microsoft and Sony did it in 2013. Depends on how long they are working on that thing though.

But I dont think they just startet development since the last few years werent nice to the WiiU.

I seriously wish there was more support for the Wii-U. It could do pretty well with some big name stuff. I guess they are saving up for the NX, but it would be nice...

I personally feel like the Wii U would have sold better if they market it better. I remember the Wii was sold out almost everywhere when it first came out in 2006. While the Wii U hardly sold out when it was first release in 2012. It also took a long time for people to buy a Wii U. Last year, we had Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors. It took two years to have games that people wanted.

What was wrong with the GameCube? The Microdiscs?

So if I got a PS4 this year I'd only get about 3 years out of it?
