And Den-O, I'd like him too. Especially if the game had a random sensor to know what you had sunlight, so that way it could charge his final smash to deal more damage x_x |

In particular the crown. Hell, Rosalina even had reddish brown hair before becoming blonde. I can't help but think that too was a reference to Peach. Part of me wishes they would have went with that, but I guess the idea of Peach having a lost/forgotten sister would be a bit much for a Mario game that was already dealing with the cycle of death and rebirth. |
I loved Rosalina's back story in Galaxy. Its so rare that Mario characters have any effort put into their personalities and tales outside of RPGs (not including Sticker Star).
But then Miyamoto had to screw it up with Baby Rosalina after telling everyone that he didn't approve of there being a hidden story in Galaxy, because he has a weird fear of story and personality. Him retiring would be the best thing that could happen to Nintendo. Now Rosalina has been downgraded to "Space Peach". Quote:

I'll admit a lot of Miyamoto's decisions have been really weird if not downright bad at times. I don't necessarily disagree with (core) Mario games having simplistic plots, but that being said, I love Galaxy's story and it was a breath of fresh air, but I don't think they should be any more complicated than that...well maybe a bit, but not much. I do however thing think if you have a more complex story to tell, it should be in a Zelda game. Things I strongly and fully disagree with him on is the lack of any drama in a Mario game. When they were developing New Super Mario Bros. he was very much against the idea of Peach being kidnapped in a dramatic way. He wanted an air ship to lower a cake down as bait to capture the Princess because apparently she's a dingbat glutton. You know, you can do something like that as a joke and it work if it's done right, but that sounded really awful. I can't help but wonder if there is a point where creators just start to lose it. Ah, I see! That's a cute reference then.
But I'll never forgive Miyamoto for the sh*t he pulled on the Paper Mario series. For that alone (although there is more evidence for it too), he is a tumour that needs removing. He's sort of become a relic that refuses to budge or adapt as the video game word expands around him. |
Well. I did it. I put a Wii U with Mario Kart 8 bundle on layaway at Toys R Us :o
Should have it out by the end of the month. Someone validate my poor choices please. |
