There is a group working on it - hikari senshi - but last I heard they were going to wait and release it when they have the whole thing done. And even if they weren't, TVN would probably be the last group you'd want working on it; they have so many ongoing projects that you'd be lucky to get six episodes of it in a year.

Started Zyuranger last night. What the hell is up with that ending theme?

Screw TV-Nihon, they'll take 7 years to finish it. I want a faster group like GUIS (who doesn't want to sub it) to sub Kakuranger.

I'd be more excited if not for that fact that, in my experience, Sentai subbers are notoriously slow. Like the one group who wanted to sub Abaranger before getting 6 episodes in and then having multiple month long delays before just vanishing...

This right here is why I consider GUIS the best sub group of the year. They gave us at least 2 full Sentai series and working strong on 3-4 others.

On a side note, I wouldn't be to surprised if Hikari Senshi did a full series batch of Kakuranger or GoGoV out of no where. It happened that way with Dairanger.

I'd kill for them to just release a full series batch out of nowhere...Kakuranger is one of the few Sentai that I'm actually interested in watching :lol

Yeah, it's near the top of my list, too. I watched the first couple of episodes awhile back and really liked them.

Same here to the point that it worries me that the rest of the show isn't nearly as good.

Well, how often is a show's pilot so much better than the rest of the series that it's near unwatchable?
After all, I find the first few episodes to be the weakest of any given series...

I've seen plenty of shows that the first few episodes are much better than the rest of it and plenty that the first is the worst part.

If there's one thing that strikes me about watching Zyuranger, it's how incredibly terrible the ending theme is.

If there are two things - and there are - it's what an enormous leap there's been in the mech suits from Jetman. Jet Icarus and Jet Garuda were cool looking, but the suits were very much flat boxes with detail painted on them. The construction of the Guardian Beasts is just so much higher in quality it's hard to fathom that the two shows are aired consecutively.

I like Jet Garuda. That being said, you're right. It was a giant leap forward from one show to the other. Suit wise though I'll take Jetman over Zyuranger. I never liked the Daimond pattern on their chests, wrists, and ankles. Plus they could fly and that always trumps anything else.

I freaking love Jet Garuda, too, it's a great design. But I could never get past how so many parts of the Jetman mechs were flat with faux detailing painted on. They just looked really cheap.

They did, I know they did. They looked like a homemade halloween costume, but still. Not having Jetman become MMPR always saddened me solely because it means I missed out on a Jet Garuda.

Having not seen Jetman yet, I decided to look up Jet Garuda. Looking at him from the front is a completely different kind of experience than looking at his side profile. It's like someone completely flattened his torso :lol

I swear to you with three hours on a Sunday, a couple old packing boxes, and magic marker, you could make that damn suit.

Wait until you get to the episodes that end on a sad note. The end theme can ruin the moment.

I've heard the guy in charge of actually making the suit was changed after Jatman and the new guy wanted to scuplt everything rather than paint. Take that with a grain of salt as it's only something I've heard in passing.

Eitherway, Zyuranger is awesome. I might even like it more than Jetman overall.

Speaking of Zyuranger, I'm very close to finishing Zyuranger. I've also been watching season one of MMPR, but keeping behind Zyuranger (by 5-10 episodes). I will never unsee the sloppy editing. All of those Japanese children ruining shots. :lol

Zyuranger was definitely a huge shift for sentai. Costume and design wise it's the beginning of a new era for the franchise. And it's incredibly evident when you look at all of the suit designs.

And that is exactly why Saban pick it instead of Jetman to turn into Power Rangers.

The fantasy-based story is also a really big shift from the more hard sci-fi nature of most of the earlier shows.

Really? They had molded helmets and Daimonds everywhere. Jetman's suits designs were much better looking, in my opinion. More detail, added more to the motif. Mech designs though go to Zyuranger. But suit-wise? No, it's Jetman.

No I mean the overall designs for all the suits. Rangers/mecha/monsters, superior stuff all around. Yes Jetman had awesome ranger suits but Zyuranger sort of set a new standard for sentai design. The mecha most certainly did, Daizyujin and Dragon Caesar are ridiculously detailed and intricate compared to jet Icarus, Garuda, and Tetra-boy.

I do believe you mean the quality of the suits rather than the designs themselves.


PS For the record, I have a lot of great things to say about Jetman, but the Rangers suit designs are not among them. Not awful, but far from great and very much not as good as Zyuranger's design.

As much as I love the Jetman mecha, I have to agree that they come from the "boxy robot" era of Sentai which all changed with Zyuranger (although GingaiOh is a horrible box robot too, but that feels more of a personal rant :lol). With all the good words people are putting in for it I'm excited as its the next Sentai show I'll be watching.

On the subject of Jetman mecha though - its the one show there the scale of the robots bug the hell out of me. The size of robot shouldn't be anywhere near that big when you look at individual components.

I don't mean the giant Kaiju they show up has before the beatdown happens. What I meant was then they change into their Mecha forms and then combine. They way it does it looked like it could happen. With parts folding away and such. Like GoGoV would be a better example. That I always thought could work in reality. Not the Super Train so much. Or Solar Max. But the main Mech itself!
