I love Gunpla, and I prefer HG kits to MG generally (though I love MG too). However, the Robot Spirits figures are extremely nice, and considering transforming elements, sturdier too. Yeah, the HG kits are cheaper, and if you prefer the enjoyment from putting them together then I would say go for it. It will be awhile before the RS Wing is out anyway, and it will most likely be a Web Exclusive. Personally, I think the RS looks much better. I don't think there is usually that big of a gulf between RS and HG kits either. What usually sells me on RS over HG kits are the extra details, the panel line work (when it's good), and the metallic and clear paint jobs. Like the recent RS Gundam DX, you get those mechanical details underneath the green chest piece that you don't on the HG. Little things like that make all the difference to me.
Speaking of RS, this is the one I'm really looking forward to: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/172883 I love that design. |

That's one MS I didn't expect, then again the same could be said of the Testament. :lol Good to see that the crazier Astray designs are getting some love, looking forward to the inevitable Red Frame. |
Yeah, crazy huh? I still can't believe Testament is getting released AND it's not a web exclusive. lol. I'm pretty happy about the recent and upcoming RS releases.
|
Blitz get the exclusive treatment and Testament is regular.
I don't understand Bandai. :lol Hopefully they keep with the crazy releases, can you imagine a Gale Strike or a Destiny Impulse. Crazy stuff. |
Yeah, that was pretty odd. Especially since all of the other main Gundam's from Seed were regular releases. I got great deals on the other four RS Seed Gundams so it makes up fro the slight premium I paid for Blitz. I think I paid around $77 for it.
I'd like to see them continue with the crazier Seed releases, and keep them regular releases at that. lol. |
A Seed Destiny RD I would love to see is the Destroy. crazy as it sounds, the proportions the RD line offers work in favor of the seed suits. This behemoth of a suit hasn't really seen much love outside of the HCM Pro, right?
|
Gundam Destroy would be really cool to see. I'm surprised there isn't more Seed Destiny stuff coming out in the RS line. I guess Bandai is keeping the ties in mainly with Gunpla.

Already said it in the anime thread but that was a fun first episode.
Sei and Reiji are a pretty cool duo. |
Pics of the color Sazabi ver Ka are starting to circulate

You know what I want more than anything? Another series like 8th MS Team, 0080, and things like that. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed SEED Destiny, and Gundam Wing, and G Gundam. But I would love another story along the lines of 8th. Grunts, trudging through a war, trying to survive. Not pretty boys flying at Mach 78 with guns the size of buildings and flashy moves.
That or to find F-91 or Victory Gundam subbed. Either or :lol |

I remember watching the first part of F-91 online. |

I would love to see another grunt war story version again too.Something more "realistic". |
Victory is subbed, I have a copy of the fansub sitting on one of my hdd's. Doesn't help you much though, does it.

Loved the Ramba Ral Cameo in Build Fighters.
Build Fighters is just such a breath of fresh air, haters be damned, me personally I'm glad we're not getting ANOTHER series about an space war. |

But he has interacted with others so who knows.:p That'd be neat, 8th MS team was great. |

That was a great first episode. Far better than Gunpla Builders was even though I really enjoyed it too.

I find myself craving Gundams again. 1/144 HGUC/HGAC Build Fighter, MG....the appeal is that each completed kit in a way, represents your skill. You truly can make these your own.
I got my first Gunpla back in the late 90's and it is amazing to see how far Bandai Hobby has come with these. Just looking at how the new 1/144 HGAC Wing Gundam turned out compared to the original 1/144 kit......it's like night and day. I love the focus on color separation and more articulation. I also like how the HGAC Age kit stands had spots under their stands to store swappable parts. I now understand that as a model these will almost always look better than their toy counterparts. So I can see why Den-O prefers kits to RD's. In addition I understand that labor factors into toy costs but it seems like you get more bang for your buck with a kit(compared to a RD figure). For example the MG Epyon has way more detail and features over the RD and is much bigger when completed. |
Yeah, the kits will be nicer than most figures if you paint them, and put in all of the work to make them clean. I love assembling kits. I got into the RD figures for the breadth of characters, and I think they compare equally to the HG kits. In some cases I think the figures are better than the HG kits, and vise versa in others. Each have their superior qualities. When it comes to Gundam Wing RD wins for me, though I do see the irony in paying $85 for a RD Shenlong when a kit would cost $20. lol. The MG kits are superior though, no doubt. I love where they are going with those, though I don't want them to get too much more detailed.

Do you guys think Turn-A needs a 2.0 MG?
Also I have the G30th 1/144 Gundam. How does it compare with the HGUC RX-78-2? I was shocked to see that the G30th has an opaque white beam saber |
I would definitely buy a Turn-A 2.0. I don't know if it's needed, but I don't have the original kit so I can't evaluate it. I keep meaning to pick it up but something else always takes precedence.

Having never built the Turn A, I can't really say if it needs a 2.0, however the Turn X needs a kit badly. The Mobile Sumo (Gold preferably) is in need as well. |
|
I just saw this, my dog looking at me funny cuz I went all spastic for a second. Also, all of the HG kits on display as well, including a new Aile Strike, V2, The thunderbolt kits in color; but mainly spazzing over a MG X. I can't believe they actually went and did it.

I am in love with this kit. I can't wait for it to be released. |
Ahhh, MG Gundam X and Sazabi. Both are looking uber awesome. lol. MG X is a dream come true, what a long time coming. Sazabi just looks so great I know I won't be able to pass it up.

Episode 2 of Gunpla Builders, and we were right about Reiji.Something is definetly up with him seeing as how he just dissapeared in front of Sei by teleporting away.I still say he's an angel version of his father sent down to teach his son how to battle
|
Another funny episode, Reiji and Sei continue to bring tons of fun, funnily enough I found the battle agianst Amazing to be the most boring part of the ep.
Next ep: Full Package and Fenice, so much yes! Quote:
That scene was seriously crazy, gives a lot of theory fodder. Btw his father is alive, ep 1 mentions that he travels the world, sending Gunpla back to the store. The ed shows Reiji with another Gunpla (the Mk II I believe) wonder why... *Edit: I could have done without the plavsky particle explanation, no amount of pseudo-science will bring logic to toys beating the crap out of each other. And Ramba was in the school... because? :lol |

Yeah, Ramba showing up just to be our source of exposition for the episode was kind of odd (but the show was self-aware of the fact). In the preview for the next episode, we see Reiji and Ramba in a mysterious doorway together. Perhaps the two have a link, or perhaps Ramba is just laying down even more exposition. Also, Mobile Sumo.

This series just keeps getting better and better.

Officially sold on this show. The second episode sealed it. Whatever kind of thing is going on with Reiji is more than enough to hook my interests for a long time. And this show has a killer catchy Opening.

Wave 4 of the assault kingdom figures has a Z’Gok and a Gouf Custom, why must you continue to tempt me with your awesome blind packed figures, why!? Onore Bandai! I guess Nu and Re-GZ are good too. :lol |
Found these Kamen Rider inspired customs that used the Unicorn gundam as the base:

Also I'm intrigued by Gundam Fenice. Sometimes I don't dig asymetrical designs but that one comes off as Wing Gundam turned into a matador. If I get it I might add some darker paint and use some reflective tape. |
