Bit of confusion here. I'm wanting to watch some shows on other platforms through a USB stick, and TV-Nihon seems like my best bet. Subtitles are built in, MP4 is more universally read than MKV, the colors and effects add a lot of character to the subs, the site has an easy to use format, and a few other perks over sites like Over-Time. Thing is, almost EVERYWHERE I check, people say to go with Over-Time, and that TV-Nihon is utter garbage. What am I missing here? Is there some fundamental flaw with TV-Nihon that makes it worth the effort of figuring out how to convert Over-Time's subtitles and MKV files to a readable format (which I've been working on for days, mind you), or is the TV- Nihon hatred something more akin to fanboy loyalty? "Xbox users suck, PS4 rulz!" type thing?

I never actually saw issue with TV Nihon personally. I've used their Gekiranger and Shinkenger subs and they were perfectly fine. I'd use em more if they released within a similar time frame with current series, so I personally go with Overtime and Genm corp for current ones, but if they're the only option, I'm fine with them. If you like what you saw in their subs, I say go for it. At the end of the day, you are the only one that it matters for what subs you pick.
Overtime is also a fantastic group don't get me wrong, and I jsut finished up their weekly releases for Build and Lupinranger, but in this case it seems their approach to subbing isn't the best for your needs. They're all good groups really. Except whoever in Hong Kong did those Hurricanger subs. That's what actual bad subs are like. |
Over-Time does SD versions of their releases. Just download them.
There definitely was a time where Tv-Nihon's stuff was utter garbage, but we put up with it because we had no other choice. I feel like they've gotten better over the years. That said, I only download their stuff when it's something no one else subs. |
TvNihon is ceetainly better than they used to be but they still play a little fast and loose with some translations sometimes. imo the best subs are still coming from other groups. TVN is my this will have to do cause no one else has subbed it yet option, otherwise I wouldn't use their subs. They also love to throw in f**ks and s**t etc for dramatic effect when its not neccasary. The colour and effects is flashy but I find it more distracting. personally don't find it hard to tell whos talking anyway.
I prefer to use overtime. if you need it in MP4 download the hardsub version which means the subs are encoded straight to the video like TVN. if you want it in HD, check the comments on the episodes someone normally does a hardsub HD version you can download. |

So, most of the work was done by DeadFish, I just scrubbed their subs, cleaned 'em up, and timed them for the Bunny Hat releases of the DVDs. If you have the DVDs, you can get the scripts here: https://sentaifans.wordpress.com/201...ed-in-english/ If you're starting from scratch, some group took my scripts and encoded them to the BunnyHat images and released them. https://nyaa.si/view/917077 |
Might be an old question or even a dumb one:
Who has subbed Dino Force Brave, a.k.a. Kyoryuger Brave!? |

Longtime no see guys.
Anyway some kind person has consolidated all the Bioman files into one MEGA folder: https://t.co/BZ3UA9zIEt Enjoy! |
Apparently Rampage has finished Goranger as of August 26th.

This should probably be updated with the note that Jetman - Hurricanger are released or are soon to be released by Shout Factory.

Not seen it posted here before, but there's someone in addition to the Love & Care group going through Kousoku Sentai Turboranger at the moment. They've just posted episodes 11 to 15 on 22-Dec.
https://kuyztoku.blogspot.com/ I can't comment as to the quality of the subs (if anyone can, that'd be great!) as I tend to only watch once the whole series is subbed; but just putting this out there for anyone else who has been wanting this series to get subbed. |
Berndadelta subs has completed their subs for Battle Fever J
https://berndadeltasubs.wordpress.com/ The person who has done the subs says that their Japanese language knowledge isn't that good, so that's worth keeping in mind. That said, if you've only ever seen the episodes that I've seen, a fair few of them had long periods of no subs or obvious errors in them, so this may should be an improvement if you're interested. They're going to move on to Denziman next (they've previously translated a few episodes of it), which I don't believe has been done before (if it has, I'd be more than happy to be corrected!). They've got a post on their page asking if anyone who knows Japanese better than they do would be willing to help on it. It may take a few years, but I'm happy to wait if it means we finally get some subs for that series! |
Metallic Fansubs has announced that they're tackling JAKQ now that they've finished Kidou Keiji Jiban. Considering the speed at which they've gotten through stuff so far, along with the work they've done with Berndadelta Subs on Denziman, this might actually be seen through to completion :)

Metallic Subs have now finished Choushinsei Flashman, too. They've raced through their last few projects, it's incredible.
They're moving on to Goggle V next; already been completed but I believe that was a Portuguese scrub. MillionFold Curiosity stated in February 2019 that they had just one episode of Kagaku Sentai Dynaman left to complete, so hopefully we'll have that one completed soon. Kousoku Sentai Turboranger is underway from Wandering Moonbeams (up to episode 32) and Toku Empire (up to episode 28). We're getting closer to everything being available for those who require English Subs! |
If anyone missed it, Metallic Subs have put out Kagaku Sentai Dynaman. Completely unannounced, but one heck of a nice holiday surprise!
Millionfold Curiosity had been working on this and posted an update in Feb 2019 saying they were one away from completing it, but with no updates since (and a lot of back and forth by eager fans in the comments section of that post!), it's good to see that this has made it out there. With Wandering Moonbeams active on the Kousoku Sentai Turboranger subs; we're on course for all Sentai to be subbed! |
Jet Man - Hurricane Ranger have been released by Shout Factory. Will those subs be removed?
On another note I would need to see everything 1975 - Jet Man and all shows after Hurricane Ranger. I can catch the rest from Shout Factory. |
Overtime has released the back half of Dekaranger.
|
I own the shows Saban and Hasbro skipped
To Q 40th Animal series Kyu Lupin Pat Two are shipping yet. To Q and Kyu came in Saturday. Also got Ryusoul. Trying to get current with the series so any spots to catch this year? |
Who all has done the Kyuranger VS. Space Squad film, and if by chance most have tackled it, who has the more accurate translation (best estimate)?

Anything on the following 5 sets
Bouken Gokai Go Busters Kyo 2020 series after I see these 5 shows I will be caught up as I'm watching Zyu (Beast) Ranger - Magi and To Quger - Ryusoul on DVD thanks to Shout and a company out of Mylasia who had region free NTSC format. Thanks for the help. |
Any suggestions on what to do when you can't open a torrent batch?

My current system, which hasn't been used in this manner for this type of action before, does the following: - I find desired batch and hit it, which leads to an automatic download. This is the easy part. - I try to open and/or play batch using something like Windows Media Player and the Player cannot recognize the codec and play anything. - Opening batch with Internet Explorer accomplishs even less! How do I open as MP4 or mkv? |
You may need a version your system recognizes. Check to see what vid format you have and try to find that version.

Pardon the extra post but there are no uploads of TV Nihon encodes prior to 2020 due to the files expiring out.
Also in some cases removed from the file host server. I looked over Gosei and found this to be the case so likely with other shows as well. I was on the site 24 hours ago and most Ranger episodes pre 2020 likely removed as well. Based on checking Gosei. This one was dated 2010. (Series ) So 9 years worth of episodes may be lost and can no longer be downloaded. Maybe more. Jet Man - Hurri have been released by Shout Factory. 2003 - 2019 not too sure of for a release. Mill Creek picked up Ultra Man. The Rider shows might be a problem. |
You can add OZC-Live for the following:
-Kyoryuger -ToQger -Zyuohger -Kyuranger -LuPat -Akibaranger Also SHOUT has done official releases a few more Sentai, most notably Jetman. Hope they continue to go further into Sentai history. |
Most (if not all? not sure) of Shout's releases are also available via streaming on TokuSHOUTsu as well which I think is pretty notable!
|
Just gonna put this here, but a small blog called Earthly Subs has high quality subs of Boukenger, Gekiranger and Go-Onger available for torrenting (not streaming). All series is completely subbed, including movies.
|
It's a miracle folks Wandering Moonbeams subbed the last Sentai Show Turboranger!
