S is the stuff that's pretty much flawless, or mean's so much to me that I forget about the flaws. A is stuff that's really good, really well written, but I couldnt see calling my favorite season. B is stuff that's mostly good, but I never got totally into it. The rest of the tiers name's should explain themselves

I do genuinely want to get into some Showa stuff, but it's just so...Not my style that it's hard for me :lol

I've cherry picked a few episodes of Kamen Rider (71) to watch, and they were...Alright. Honestly, I can kinda see why Nigou saved the show, since it's pretty uneventful. The contemplative brooding is unique, but I've seen it done better.
Amazon is a trip, but when I started it, it was with very poorly translated subs eons ago. I might finish it now that it has competent subs available.

Other than those 2, I haven't touched any Showa series.
I've heard great things about Black and RX. I might give both of them a go, as well.

And not technically Showa, but Shin, ZO, and J were all okay in my eyes. I'd probably rank Shin in middle C. It's uniqueness is a nice change of pace, but I feel it tries so hard to not be a Kamen Rider series it loses it's heart. ZO and J would both probably be in B. They're both alright, but honestly nothing too special or interesting.

The First would be placed in C. I fell asleep during my first viewing of it. Second watching I found it to be...Tolerable. Never watched The Next. Still need to also get around and watch Amazonz.

In my opinion, lot of toy-oriented toku doesn't really have much substance in the first place. I could say the main reason is because they focus so much on selling toys but then we have shows like Build and Gaim which I consider to be masterpieces (in other words, it actually is possible to be a toy-oriented show and still tell a compelling story). No, I think it's because they produce this stuff yearly, in other words, the shows emphasise quantity over quality and flashiness over substance. I know it's their jobs and all, but relying on the same names over and over again ultimately means there will be a reusing of plots for many series.

Don't get me wrong, most are certainly watchable, but not exactly the best popcorn entertainment out there.

At the very least, the designs are amazing.

As for Revice, I'd currently put it at the complete bottom of Terribile. I legitimately hate that show and really, really do not enjoy basically anything it does, which is a damn shame since I love the concept it build off of, with the deal with the devil thing. It just fails utterly at its execution, starting with allowing others to make the deal for you and I'm already rambeling again.

While I like some shows over others, I'd say I can't really put a definitive tier on them, and I don't want to either. It subconsciously makes me think I look down on it :lol

I waffled about including Super-1, since I haven't watched much of it but I've also decided that I've seen enough. If I could split Hibiki into two, obviously it would be at both the top and bottom.

I'm quite intimidated to watch Saber. I found it completely uninteresting when I tried to watch it as it was airing. I hear some people praise it once it gets going, while I see a lot of people put it on par with Ghost, making it hard to really gauge.

I'm surprised Saber is B tier for you considering how much you dislike Ghost.

Oh boy Saber, is a show with a lot of very good things in my mind, and a lot of kind of dull things, but never really anything offensively bad tbh. I think you wouldn't hate it? If it means anything Ghost's writer only wrote 14 episodes, the movie, and the v-cinema, but I have no idea if that helps. I personally really enjoyed Saber, so if you wanna chat about it as you watch I'm down.

Honestly, I'd say Fukuda not being able to write more than Ghost was more the problem than it is a positive. Especially since many of Saber's best episodes are the ones with him on it.

And I have to stress as well to really just check it out for yourself and form your own opinions it. Though, the deciding factor I find most of the time is if you can't keep up with its shenanigans up until, say, episode 11-16 then it'll be a tough time to find motivation in keeping up with it going forward.

I do intend on forming my own thoughts and opinions on it. And I guess there's no time like the present, so I'm starting a download now. Oh dear oh dear.

Also, Switch, you placed Amazonz in F tier? I thought people enjoyed it. What was wrong with it (Having still not seen it)?

Oh, and I should mention that I left Revice off because I really like it, but I need to see how it sticks the landing.

Saber is very much like Drive and Black RX for me: a show that started off pretty weak but that just got steadily better as it went along. I was honestly considering dropping it, but once Yuri came in and the show's pacing calmed down I really got into it.

It's mostly on the back of season 2, where the show made a whole bunch of decisions that annoyed me. Some of it was the characters, some of it was the story, and some of it was the direction and the way that some scenes were very artificially staged. It's kind of hard to describe, but it was the visual equivalent of nails on a chalkboard for me. It's the only modern Rider show I couldn't bother finishing.

We entered a universe where the Bujin Riders are the actual show leads.

I'd totally be down for a Warring States drama with a Bujin Rider territorial free-for-all.

I was going to protest why Sento is on the bottom, but then I remember he hangs around too many chemicals.

I actually feel like Takeru might smell slightly better than average considering he lives and works at a shrine, he probably puts something on before he goes out to meet visitors.

Actually hold on a sec, isn't Takeru a ghost for most of the show? How does he smell like anything?

I’d move Takumi up a notch. He spends a lot of time working around laundry and probably smells like fabric softener.

Tendou is the one who stands atop the world of smelling amazing!

Nuts, I only saw the first two episodes of Faiz so I didn't know. :cry

Emu should be lower imo, because he is a doctor, so he probably Smell like medicine.

Takeru should either get his own tier where he is smelless or at smell really bad, because maybe he smell like a corpse

Emu works with kids though so I think he has to smell good in order to work with them.

I've been watching the Kamen Rider Revice: The Mystery spinoff as it is released and it is making me realize something. Revice as a show has been in desperate need of some lighter content like this. Week to week the show is usually so heavy and serious, so getting a chance to see characters like Ikki and Hiromi in slightly calmer and sillier scenarios really lets me see everyone in a new light and gives the viewer some much needed breathing room. It can be hard to get a full handle on the characters when the show is so intent on running them through the wringer every week after all.

So watching through Kabuto, about halfway now. It's so far the best of the Heisei era riders that I've watch starting from Kuuga. I laughed at what I think is the best joke I've heard in Kamen Rider. That was when Tsurugi thought ramen as called La Men. And to me that was genius.

Tsurugi is fantastic. His presence elevates every story he's in, even if it's just for a minute or two.

I hear bad things about Saber and Revice. I may skip out on them if they are generally disliked.

While reactions to Saber were definitely pretty mixed, I've heard nothing but praise for Revice. I personally think it's the best season since Build. What bad stuff are you hearing about Revive?

My personal opinion: Skip Saber, the reputation it accumulated is warranted IMO, it's not very good. Worth checking out for sure, since my opinion is just that and you might end up loving it, but if you intend to go all-in on a Rider show, I would say don't watch this one.

Revice though? Revice rules. It's really good. Super fun and well done show so far. I wholeheartedly agree with Fredbob392, it definitely is the best one overall since Build for me at the moment.

Saber just seemed too boring for me even though I did technically sit through the whole of Wizard whereas Revice seems back to the slightly more consistent quality of Zero-One at least in my book, although maybe I will actually still go back and finish Saber one day!

I'd say try out Saber, it's real messy on the first arc, but picks itself back up and becomes really imo around the time the Q2 rider debuts. I'd say watching consecutively makes it better than being watched weekly. It's an improvement over Ghost IMO.

Revice is doing pretty solid so far. To the point I think I'd prefer it over Zero-One. Saber's in its own comfort category for me now :lol. I think how one would view Revice kinda depends on how much Vice can you handle. I hated Vice for the first 20 episodes, with only a few scenes were I pretty much tolerate him. He's doing fine now, now that he's outside. And hopefully the current arc does something for him.
