I've bought a few Bs that have looked absolutely perfect and then one B that has had a big old crease in one of the stickers, so it varies. The boxes are also more likely to be jacked up, if they say the box is damaged they actually mean it against Mandarake's "may have a slightly peeled tape in one part, maybe". You're guaranteed to have everything there and unbroken though.
My experience has been that with Figuarts you're good, they'll be fine, but with mecha you should expect any stickers to be put on unless otherwise stated, with the quality of which varying. My last few mecha purchases from them have included a Time Robo with stickers PERFECTLY applied and a free Time Flyer, a Gosei Great that looks untouched and a DekaBase Robo with the before mentioned big crease in the sticker (admittedly it was only $25) and I've bought about 6 Figuarts from them that were "B" and they've all been good. I've also bought one or two "B" Morphers that looked untouched. Quote:

Yeah, I have to agree I'm expecting metallic MMPR figures for SDCC. Bluefin must know those things would sell like hotcakes.
|
Not gonna lie, give me a Metallic MMPR pack to represent their silly upgrades from Season 3 and I'll fight the masses to get in an order.
|
Same, and I don't know whether I should be proud of that :lol

No idea, sorry. I've never done it.

Oh well. Cheers though, grabbed a B Grade Zolda off of there so I can finally start representing my love for Dragon Knight.

I've only ever been slammed by customs a handful of times and so that's why I generally avoid buying in bulk. More expensive long term maybe but when the post office adds like fifteen quid for customs because they're legally allowed to pull figures out of the air makes any savings from buying in bulk voided.
so ill keep that gift thing in mind, thanks. |
I can't speak for toys, but I used to order R2 DVDs from Anime Jungle all of the time and I got Mothra vs Godzilla from them for about 40% off becuase it was a B grade. THe B grade on that turned out to be because the movie was missing its little wrapper (obie as they called it) that folds around the corner of the case.
|
I'd assume B Grade is probably like Amazon's Like New.
|
It varies. Like I said, I've had some stuff that I couldn't tell they had been used and some that I could definitely tell had been used (used stickers, etc) but for me all the Figuarts I've got that are "B" have been consistently excellent.
|
I have ordered a couple B grade Figuarts from them. They were good condition, but I do not want to take the chance on a DX item again, I bought a Zeronos Belt DX for like $35 with SAL and when I finally got it, it didn't work, I took it apart and found out the battery wire had come off the circuit board. Kind of sucks that happened when the B grade means it still works.
I did fix the problem though, resoldered the wire to the board in shop class. |
Yikes, that sounds awful!
I just ordered a "B" DX Tensouder, Go-Buster Ace and Go-Buster Gorilla and Rabbit 2-Pack (Only $55 for the lot!) so I hope they keep up their good track record with me. |
I know I'm super late to the whole Ryuki game, but rewatching Dragon Knight has got me interested in the line of the SHFs and after buying Torque I looked into his Advent Beast - Contract Monster is it called in Ryuki? - and wow that goes for a lot of money, for a barely articulated lump of plastic that breaks down into the same accessories you get with Torque anyway.
So...you're basically being asked to pay sixty quid to pose him in his Final Vent, wow... |

So it's a combinable out of scale accessory pack which costs three times the actual figure does?

Being an exclusive, scalpers really have no say in the availability of the item since it's made to order. |
I've never liked Figuarts tendency to release core bits, in pieces. *looks at Beast, then looks at his Mantle set, fills with hate*
From what I gather - it's not something I remember being properly explained in Dragon Knight - is that the Contract Beasts become all of the individual items summoned by the cards, so considering all that Zolda comes with it seems wrong somehow that they couldn't just make it combine. Bandai are all "LOL NOPE, if you want his shield he used like once and the ability combine the weapons, you gotta buy another set!" and although it makes sense for them, money, it's a colossal dick move on their part but they also know people will pay (I don't blame them) so they'll continue to do this poop. |
Well, went ahead & ordered me a figuarts Kyoryu Red cause, you know why not, with Dino Charge coming out next year I at least wanted Daigo/Lucas to start with :lol. Plus the thing is so AWESOME :p.

If they packed Zolda and Magnugiga together, it probably would have crossed into the triple digit/10,000yen+ field and as a result either wouldn't have sold as well or would be hella expensive to get a hold of now (If Ryuuga's aftermarket prices are any indication.) Most of these Contract Beasts aren't exactly small. If they were to pack ALL the Ryuuki riders with their beasts, it'd be more of a money sink than I'm sure most people would have wanted to commit to. I'd much rather have the ones who are small or thin enough to not impact the price too much (Dragredder, Dragblacker, Darkwing Goldphoenix, etc.) be packed with their rider while the larger ones are sold on their own, like their doing now. |
Well considering with shipping it's about 15000 yen (more if you use the options other than SAL) to buy them together, I don't see how it could have been worse to pack them together in the first place.
|
As stated by Shin Henshin, it's be even more money, & remember the Ryuki releases were started in 2012 so the contract monsters that are exclusive are pricey cause of high demand due to the popularity of both Dragon Knight & Ryuki, mainly Ryuki but you get the idea, so separately sold Advent Beasts/Contract Monsters are pricier than the ones that can be packed with their rider & the last rider that can have that happen is Femme & Blancwing cause Gigazelle, Dest Wilder, Biogreeza, Psycorouge, & Volcaner are bigger than their riders. The ones listed are the ones left to release.

A few extra pieces? For such a prominent character? Like, the Genocider I get since that's a very specific thing, but Zolda already came with most of his monster. |

Magnugiga CERTAINLY isn't worth the obscene aftermarket prices. And as Locke said, you're MORE priced-out getting them seperately. |
But you don't have to pay that all at once... If getting them as they come out anyways, which is how they're planned. I'd be in the same boat as you guys if I went after Ryuki guys now - and I do want to - so I understand where you're coming from. But I don't think it's that bad to pack them separate taking that into consideration.

Also, whenever they get around to Femme, don't forget that Blancwing doesn't weigh that much either so she'll be the last of the Ryuki/Dragon Knight riders that can have the contract beast in the pack. The ones that'll have to be released separately are: Volcaner, Biogreeza, Destwilder, Psycorouge, Gigazelle, Dragranzer, Darkraider, Abysslasher, & Abysshammer.
Well, I went ahead to bite the bullet mode *pun TOTALLY intended :lol* & canceled my Kyoryu Red order as I get in store credit then I ordered Blade Ace Form, canceled that, I had ninety-something in-store credit on BBTS so I went ahead and ordered: Kyoryu Red, Blade Ace Form, & Garren Ace Form with Red Rhombus, now I just gotta pre-order Hibiki next month & I will have not only the main riders from 2004 to 2006 I'll also have all four of the Ace Form riders from Blade aswell as Kyoryu Red, I'm such a sleaze-wad :lol. |
So you just stole them?

If you cancel something on a shop that has that kind of system, you get in-store credit, cause it's basically a refund, also I re-did my Kabuto Renewal pre-order cause I decided that I wanted to go ahead & get it shipped with Hibiki, Leangle, & Chalice. Kyoryu Red has been in stock since October of LAST YEAR dude :lol. I didn't cancel my Leangle & Chalice pre-orders, I'd have to be fucking stupid to do that to myself :lol.

So you pay up front, and if you cancel, you don't get your money back you get credit at the site? Oh, then that is terrible...
|
It's NOT up-front payment. Let me link you to their help page so you can understand how BBTS works without me explaining this in the most fucking complicated way possible :lol.
