From what I've seen of the Blade riders they are LEAGUES ahead of the Wizard ones :lol.
|
true :lol And I have to admit compared to the other Wizard figures my Infinity does look pretty good. It's just compared to the beauty that is PBM Wizard Flame style who comes with more accessories/detail it's hard to be a fair judge about it.
|
Well, BBTS is still processing my payment *currently wishing they were also able to accomplish completing this shit during the weekends* so I'll probably get the payment update tomorrow morning or this afternoon, I'd go with tomorrow cause I usually never have stuff like that happen from them during the weekends :p

I've been reading CookSux's reviews on the Ryuki SHF figures - I actually find his site really useful - and I noticed that there are quite a few Ryuki characters whre he seems to actually like the figmas better.
I'm just interested in what your guys thoughts are on this, because as far as I'd seen before I read his reviews, the figmas were pretty universally shat on but I dunno whether that was just SHF elitism and CookSux is the voice of reason or if he is genuinely a rare case and the figmas are crap. |
So I got Garren & Red Rhombus, but due to an unforunate accident whilst sorting out the shelfs, I broke the bike's handles and had to superglue it. :(
Garren though is pretty cool and the cardholder is already sorted out. :) I'm still worried about the head a bit though, but have been careful with it and sorting out |

Compared to Figuarts, the Figmas look less toy-like in my opinion.

But here's the thing the articulation is better on the Ryuki figuarts than on the Dragon Knight Figmas, plus Max Factory never made Ryuki & Knight's survive modes or any advent beasts. Also Wrath's figma is shit aswell cause the crap shoulder design :lol.
|
So stick to Figuarts for everyone but Strike then? That works for me, especially as if I must, I can just buy the Advent Beasts separately but lol I'm never doing that.

Thing is, Thrust is probably rated the same as figuarts Gai is, the reason for his price being so high is the same reason for Genocider & Magugiga HIGH DEMAND. Also Locke, if you got the Figma of Strike, he'd be out of place, plus with ANY product it comes down to the quality of the person's own, like with me, a lot of people got good Delta figuarts, I got a crap one, the index fingers for the hand that held his delta blaster was loose, all the fingers on the hand to hold the delta mover as a camera were loose, & the index finger on the hand for holder the delta phone was loose, I had to use his posing hands, didn't go so well, so Delta isn't on my display area anymore :L.

So basically you've never seen the source material Dragon Knight got most of its stuff from *stock footage basically*.

Indeed, the only things I meant when I said that were the rider suits, advent beasts, & mirror monsters *aka Xaviax's little grunts that like any other big bad, he likes to waste cause he don't give a shit bout them :lol*. I LOVED Dragon Knight it was my INTRO to Kamen Rider before I watched the Japanese shows, it actually stacked up to Ryuki standards in some ways, but the last episode literally gives no regards to ANYTHING normal, then again when does Kamen Rider EVER do that anyways :lol.
|
I don't own any Kamen Rider stuff, but I have quite a few Figma and the quality of Figuarts is definitely higher. I've never broken a Figuarts before, except once from dropping Hyper Shinken Red's Kyoryumaru at a decent height onto hard tile, yet many of my Figma have snapped wrists due to their tiny pegs. I've even broken some hands gently taking them out of the package they're supposed to be stored in. If there was a character released by both Figma and Figuarts, I'd definitely go for Figuarts. I think the quality of Figma in general has improved lately (Link and Samus are notably better then my others) but I'm pretty sure the Ryuki stuff came out fairly early on in Figma's life.
Still, Figma are far better then Revoltech. Revoltech are just a joke, really, I have more broken Revoltech then I do good ones so I would never recommend them to anyone. |

Here's the thing though, here is the Figuarts Ouja - see how small that lower chest plate is and how HUGE the upper part is? Plus the weird lilac paint? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AxG8J_FYMB...shf%2Bouja.jpg
He really looks nothing like this, http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...a_Headshot.jpg like he does in the show. Then compare that show photo to the Figma, and the Figma to the Figuart and you can see how much better the Figma looks. Even if the quality may be lower. http://images.goodsmile.info/cgm/ima...82fd4a2de1.jpg |
But compared the LACK of joints the figma has, he can't do his final vent pose man :lol.
|
Well I probably won't be displaying any of them in their Final Vent's if they all go for ridiculous prices like Torque's Advent Beast. Torque has my very favourite, but not sixty quid without shipping for a piece of plastic, favourite.
|
Well remember exclusive releases of things that aren't popular in the western hemisphere aren't gonna get a green lit Bluefin distribution, & remember Knight & Darkwing were retail, & hell even Amazon.com can't have a lower price on that damn thing, cause of HIGH DEMAND, any thing that people want more of but is discontinued, it's gonna be steep as fuck dude, & trust me the price for those contract monsters will be more ridiculous ten years later :lol.

I fixed it :lol. But yeah the price for Magnugiga on Plamoya is on 115.83 USD, that's pretty good all things considering so it's 70.23 quid for you plus shipping Locke, you're welcome :lol.
|
I really couldn't tell the difference on the chest between all of the Oujas. But then again, I notice the small eyes on Blade's figuart
|
As usual, compromises are what things like that are.

The figma on the other hand does it correctly, http://livedoor.blogimg.jp/hacchaka/...e5baa7f4-s.jpg As you can see compared to the show http://dragonknightnetwork.webs.com/Storiku.jpg Which isn't mentioning how off the colour is for the SHF. |
It's my personal belief that outside of Knight/Wing Knight, the SHFs are WAY better. Better molds, better articulation, better accessory count, just overall better. However the Figmas do provide good alternatives for SHFs that are really pricey (i.e. Gai).
|
as someone who has never seen Ryuuki or Dragon Knight and only has one Kamen Rider SH(Wizard Infinity) and don't have any figma's I have to say the Figma Ouja looks a lot better by just being way more screen accurate in those pics. Especially the purple color and proportion of the body looks fantastic on the Figma.
Now I don't doubt the Figuarts Ouja has better articulation but for me personally as long as a figure has enough articulation to be able to pose him nicely I much rather a more screen accurate figure than having Figuarts level articulation |
Exactly my thinking, and feeling!
|
Too bad the Figma is just cheaper looking, and messes up a lot of the details like the belt. Just compare helmets.
|
I actually disagree, being screen accurate makes Strike not just a faithful, but also a better looking figure. Sure the belt is a bit more simplified but I don't think that is worse than the tacky metallic lilac paint or bad sculpting job on the armour on the SHF.
|
After looking at more pic's of both figures I'm with Locke on this. Not only does Strike look more faithful to the original suit but it's body proportion(especially chest and torso) fit the body of the suit actor a lot better.
Which is a big selling point for me and is why I collect Medicom figures instead of Figuarts(except for Sentai and Gaim since I want all Gaim figures). |
Yeah Figma really knocked Strike out of the park, beautiful looking figure and cheap too.
