I would add that if there's no female team members Power Rangers won't want to touch it either (especially in an age where they can clearly skip over shows if they want), which will hurt sales on an international level.
Personally I'd love there to be a proper gender balance for once, even if they dared just to try it once. Getting a female sixth would be AMAZING. |

Also, Sun Vulcan doing well in the 80's because it was 30 years ago does not prove that it won't do well today. We just had a record of an all-male team doing well in the ratings. Gender diversity doesn't really matter. We have shows that has no gender diversity (sailor moon, charlie's angels, powerpuff girls) and those shows are doing fine. And I don't think anyone would be angry about the all-male team other than a few vocal SJWs and feminists. That's actually a good thing for Toei. We all know what shitstorm they create. These groups will do the advertising for them. People will get curious and watch the show. Power Rangers not touching it won't hurt Toei's overall sales at all. PR is forced to choose between seasons anyway because of its format in Nickelodeon. |

At this point I'm genuinely wondering why you watch Sentai and not just Kamen Rider, where the heroes are predominately male. Or hell even Garo, where they've actually created a (ridiculous) in-show reason why women can't transform. |

Now Sentai. The show isn't created just for little boys anymore like back then, it's for children in general. Watch some footage of the stage shows. You'll see the audience is not just little boys but all sorts of children. Look at pictures of signing events. All sorts of children there. Your claim that the only "SJWs" and "feminists" will complain about an all male Sentai is horribly misguided. Sentai presents heroes for children. A team of great power and hope. Something to inspire all children. That's why they try to diversify as much as they can, for all children to look at the tv and say "hey, if he/she can be a hero, why can't I?" In taking out the female characters you rob their fans of finding someone to connect to. And like said previously, that hurts sales. Not only do boys buy toys, girls do too. If you think they don't, they wouldn't release the merchandise that relates to the female characters. |

And as someone who shares your gender (apparently) I would prefer if you would not speak for us. Quote:
Sentai however was about a team of man and women fighting crime side by side from the very beginning. You’re basically trying to force a gender role upon a show which never made it its goal to promote one. Quote:

Within Super Sentai though, I feel it's better to have at least one female presence. Speaking from the perspective of a foreigner and not trying to put myself in the shoes of some six year old Japanese girl, it adds a bit more variety to the team. Not to mention that with the exception of Sun Vulcan, having at least one woman on the team has been a thing since Goranger. |

Liam, considering your desire for a "dark and gritty" sentai season and your desire for an elimination of all females from the franchise, I sincerely wonder what it is you even like about Sentai. "Light & breezy" and "gender cooperation" are fundamental parts of this franchise -- sentai wouldn't be sentai without them. Quote:
Liam, I suspect that one day you'd like to date or be in a relationship with an intelligent, interesting, capable woman. Am I right there? If that's the case, I really think you should reevaluate a lot of your positions regarding gender, otherwise that's not going to happen. I implore you to ask yourself, whenever you think of something that excludes women or treats them as inferior or unworthy, how you would feel if you were a woman and heard someone say these things to you. Like, really really think about how what you're saying would make you feel if it was being said to you. Use every ounce of empathy to put yourself in their positions. If you do this for even just a week, I bet you'll come out the other end as a better person. |
