Well what about Figma Wrath? You can't do anything with its arms cause the shoulders don't move man. Also, the figuarts of Ryuki came out in 2012 whilst they were still trying to make a good sculpt that didn't require the diecast feet for balance support & blows other highly articulated figures of those riders out of the water, which the Blade rider figuarts did & what the Hibiki figuarts are gonna end up doing, but as I said before it's all a matter of opinion.

I'm not speaking of the entire line though, I'm speaking specifically about Strike. I know they all use the same bodies, but all have different sculpts and paint on top so it's impossible to talk about them as one unit.
Like apparently Incisor is just as good as Scissors. Apparently both the Sting and Raia releases are crap. Apparently Knight is way better than Wing Knight. Apparently Dragon Knight and Ryuki are pretty equal, but Ryuki comes with the Contract Monster so he wins out. So I'm probably gonna only got for Sting when it comes to the Figma, as it blows the SHF out of the water but the rest I'll go the SHF route. And I'm prolly gonna only pick up Ryuki anyway. Quote:
Also neither shade is one hundred percent accurate admittedly, but the metallic lilac is definitely the most off and on the more expensive figure. |
IS there a particular reason why Dragon Knight got the figma treatment and not other riders shows onwards? I wouldn't mind owning a Figma Skull if that happened ;0

Yep, the visors on the figma releases aren't relatively made with sturdy plastic, I gathered that from VIDEO reviews, listen Locke, wanna get better info, best watch video reviews on Youtube cause the picture reviews don't give you voiced commentary on whether or not the person likes the product he or she bought, I know this from experience :p.

Indeed, cause up until last year the figuarts releases were still in the trial & error phase basically, hence some or a lot of detail mess-ups, where with max factory's figma line, they only focus on things that only have one setup of characters & the designs of the characters are able to be used well enough in a figma figure.

Well I is happy cause my purchase of Blade, Garren + Red Rhombus, & Kyoryu Red finally got payed for, now I wait till I get the shipping notification tomorrow & start tracking my order, time for a really stupid Universal Studios Cat in the Hat reference :lol "I'M SO EXCITED!!!" :lol :lolol.
Hopefully my CycloneJoker shows the fuck up tomorrow. My shelf needs a bit of hard boiledness to it. No, scratch that. Half boiledness. Hard boiled would be having Skull.
like Locke I'm just talking about Figma Strike/SH Ouja instead of the whole line. Not trying to convince anyone just explain why I'd probably prefer the Figma version.
On a more figuarts related note though super exited that Utchi is in the mail. |
Well, like what Split Lip said, the color is off on ANY of the Ouja/Strike releases, & I gotta agree with the figma looking blue in color.
wait now I'm confused...in some screen caps of Ouja his armor looks bluish-purple like the one Locke put up and in others his armor is more of a royal purple...maybe the reason no one can get it right is because the color of the suit changes based on the light.
Judging based only on the bluish-purple suit the figma got closer(but not exact) to the actual color but now I don't know which one is the right color  |
I'd say the Figma is slightly closer since the Ouja suit is a dark purple.
Neither is spot on, but the metallic lilac is the furthest deviation from the original colour from the two. Plus as far as I'm aware, none of the other core Riders in the Ryuki SHF line have metallic paint - and I think out of the minor Riders it's only Scissors who also has a metallic finish - so not only is the colour off, and the sculpt bad but he'll stand out like Edward Cullen in your collection.
Sculpt is all opinion based. I like how the Figmas hide the joints in the leg area, but I'm a figuart guy...except for Knight and Gai. Knight because the Figma is the better representation, and Gai because I am not paying over $100 for a SHF.
No but it isn't opinion, if you look at the images I posted you can see how bad the SHF Ouja chest area is. For once I'm not just voicing my opinion, this one is a fact.
Actually Locke, ALL the Ryuki riders basically have a more metallic paint than the other riders instead of a matte finish, so basically if you got Figma Strike, you're really gonna have an out of place figure dude, in terms of the sculpt aswell :L. Also the choice is NOT ours to make though guys, it's LOCKE'S choice on how he wants to complete the Dragon Knight rider collection, but remember you won't get the two variations of Eubulon's rider suit the survive modes for Dragon Knight & Wing Knight cause Max Factory NEVER made those suits.
I only have Knight Survive in person to really comment about the metallicness. And he does in fact have it.
None of them look as metallic as Ouja does - except maybe Scissors, if the others have a metallic finish then they put crap effort in because you can't even tell.
You can kind of tell in person if you get it in the right light.

Yeah the lighting has to be pretty well lit cause metallic paint doesn't show in dark lighting that well usually, also the point is NOT proven unless you are unable to find ANY trace of metallic paint on any of the Ryuki figuarts Locke :lol.
Especially if it's a darker color.
Well phew, so glad that I won't tell it's metallic when the lights are off.
Oh lord Knight Survive's metallic paint, I literally had to have my lamp on for that, but it's a bit easier for riders like Ryuki & Odin :p.
....which is exactly my point, even under low lighting you can tell Ouja is metallic, where as on others you can't even notice it. I honestly had no idea they were all metallic until you said. So Ouja will stand out a lot more, than the non-metallic Strike will.
And yes the base body will be different - and I'm not sure how they scale - but I can't fathom how anyone can say that Ouja will blend in better unless they are entirely blinded by SHF elitism. |
Well I a KEEP SAYING :lol, it's no-one else's choice but yours :thumb:.
good to know, the light in some pics reflecting off the armor made him look a lot less dark so I wanted to double cheek :p
So like these images would be more accurate http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2...a_Headshot.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTIwWDUyMA...Gq!~~60_35.JPG What sculpt a person prefers though is all up to what qualities of a figure is more important to them. I prefer having figures with no visible joints that look like they are literally miniature versions of the suits instead of obviously looking like figures which is why I am willing to pay $60-$190 on them when I wouldn't on Figuarts. At the same time I love my Sentai Figuarts, their articulation and accessories make them better than any other Sentai figure and so I don't mind the obvious joints on them. It all deepends on what you want for each individual figure I suppose. |
^ See, Figma wins this round.
True because let's all be honest, we'd all be in the RAH collecting business if we could afford them :lol

https://0-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/...5303768126.jpg Also Strike's color looks weird if you buy the SHF contract beast. http://dc482.4shared.com/img/rwRobpH...er_Ouja7-7.jpg SHF http://www.gundammodelkits.com/wp-co...hf_ouja032.jpg |
Well Locke doesn't plan to get the separately sold advent beasts, even though the rest aren't even announced yet :lol.
I would LOVE to own them, but in no world is an Advent Beast worth almost seventy pounds before shipping, well not to me anyway. Especially guys like Torque, where all it does is break down into out of scale accessories he already has. And that shield, he used once.
Well do you see ANY OTHER Advent Beast EXCEPT Magnugiga, & the Genocider three-pack released yet? No? Didn't think so :lol.
What does that have to do with anything?
I'm just saying that the ONLY separately released contract monster releases so far are Magnugiga & the Genocider 3-pack, we still don't have: Volcaner, Destwilder, Biogreeza, & Gigazelle *plus the other Zelles if you want them aswell*.
