Marvel Studios and Fox HATE each other. They've been arguing over character rights for some time and the release of "Fant4stic" demonstrates how bad their relationship has become; Fox would apparently rather hold the characters over Marvel's head than try & discuss an honest deal for the properties.

Hell, FOX shoehorned Quicksilver into "Days of Future Past" mostly to spite the MCU after Whedon announced him & Wanda for "Age of Ultron."

How can a relationship be so petty? It is not in the best business interests of either company to do this. They are not acting in the best interests of their investors.

I think it'd be along the same lines as Captain America not being mentioned until 2010. It simply never came up. Stark Industries and PymTech are far from the only companies in the MCU. The Baxter Building and the Future Foundation would exist, but they'd have their own little corner in the MCU.

Let's say the Fantastic Four became active in the 1970s, initially as a covert expansion of the Space Race. They're active for a decade or so, then retire from superheroics in the mid- to late-1980s/early 1990s. In that time, Reed and the gang devote their time to the advancement of science, and launch the Future Foundation for that very purpose in the early-2000s or mid-2010s.

It'd require some finagling, but the history of the MCU isn't developed enough to complicate it too much.

Oh please. If Disney really wanted to, they could get the rights back with ease. It's Disney. What Disney wants, Disney gets. The only company in the world that could probably match Disney in financials is Nintendo. However, unlike Disney, Nintendo still thinks this is 1990.

Unless Fox decides not to play ball...

Fox set up a release date for the F4 sequel in 2017 before the movie was released. I think Fox had their hopes on the movie way too high. I think the bad word of mouth is really going to kill the movie quick.

It's no different than what Sony did with Sinister Six and TASM3.

It's really unfortunate that both these companies spend so much of their time fighting with each other that in the end you don't care who owns which film rights and who's vison fits with what the audience wants; you just want a good movie and right now all this fighting is driving me away from any and all Marvel movies.

EDIT: Just found out Fox took the previous FF movies from online streaming services. All just to drum up money for their terrible FF movie.

Just fuck Disney, Marvel and Fox for this mess. I'm not going to lie to myself and say they only care about money now but geez, I'm surprised by how childish this whole thing is.

So there's rumors that Fox studios resources that were going to Fant4stic 2 is now going to a Deapool sequel.

No offense but how is this Disney or Marvel's fault?
