Also, who wants to try past-Gen warfare? All we do is pick a Gen from 1-4 (as 5 is very recent), and make some Pokemon from that Gen for battle.
Would you ever use a Piloswine in Gen6 over Mamoswine? Of course not! But if you did a strictly Gen2 battle, Piloswine would be an excellent addition.

What about abilities? Some made certain mons better in later gens! Simple, always go with the worse ability in that case. So you'd use Unaware Piloswine instead of Snow Cloak or Thick Fat Piloswine in a Gen 2 brawl.

Sounds interesting, but I don't think I could do it. Too much of a hassle to make sure my Pokemon are running moves to the timeline (And I can't change abilities and/or not going to use a shit ability).

The shit ability is just a failsafe to ensure fairness. That way you can't sweep with a Moxie Honchkrow or something in a Gen4 battle.

Also of note, it's great for exposing yourself to Pokemon you normally would never use anyway, as with the Piloswine example.

Or maybe I just want to do an old school Gen1 battle with one of the original 151 with old-school movesets.:o

Basically all you do is select a different Gen's tab on a Smogon entry.

Aw man, it turns out the Poke Ball Vivillon showing up on the GTS are hacks - the real deal has a Classic Ribbon so can't only be traded through a direct trade.

This one literally is next to impossible to get. :(

Diance gets a mega. We all knew the other two Hoenn starters were going to get megas. Mega Sceptile will be a grass/dragon with the ability lightning rod and mega Swampert will stay the same type but with the ability swift swim.

Steven Stone returns and also appears to have a Mega Charizard X and is after the secret for Mega Evolution
Both the Mach and Acro Bike make a return in this game and Team Aqua & Team Magma both return as well. Team Magma is lead once again by Maxie, and his Admins: Homura & Kagari. Team Aqua is lead by Archie and his admins Ushio and Izumi. Like the originals the team you face varies depending upon the game. The Mega Evolution activating item in this game is the Mega Bangle

The megas for Groudon and Kyogre will basically be prehistoric versions of themselves.

Diancie gets a Mega Evolution? That seems like such a waste... It's a Legendary, an event Pokémon, and not even available yet. Not a fan of that.

All of the Hoenn starters though? Yeah, that is awesome. I'm definitely a fan of Sceptile and its typing. It looks badass too. Swampert looks like it became a freaking tank, so I definitely want to see how its stats change.

Kyogre and Groudon forms... "Regression," huh? That doesn't exactly make sense at all to me. Need to know more.

I don't know what to do for a starter... I'm still traditionally pro-Fire, but I loved my run with Treeko in Sapphire and its Mega looks to be the best... Plus I've already raised a really good Blaziken anyways, so it'd be pretty repetitive.
