I think a lot of criticism of Drive and Ghost stems from both shows being very conventional as far as Rider series go -- there aren't a lot of twists or subversions or surprises that make these shows exciting for many longterm fans. Once you watch a few more Rider shows, you'll start to pick up on the franchise's repeated tropes, and you'll probably begin to see why many get frustrated with these two shows in particular.

As a Sentai fan first, I remember discovering Kamen Rider. The first shows I watched -- OOOs, Fourze, and Kiva -- blew my brain to bits, and I began to think Kamen Rider was the franchise that made my toku heart the happiest. Cut to a few years later, and I have a bunch more series under my belt. I'm way more desensitized to Rider's tropes. As such, I've gravitated back to my first toku love: Sentai.
