Couldn't agree with you more. Can't tell you how tired I am of reading Fanfiction trying to be a season 3 for Adventure, but focus only on the human drama and entirely forget the main selling point of this show (if I wanted to watch/read a drama anime or manga, I'd go find one. Don't change a series' premise to suit your story).

Which granted, considering how odd the heads of Palmon and Agumon are, leaves me wondering if we'd be better without the Digimon now. They're new designs are kind of freaking me out.

Or how about, and follow me here, we make a show that doesn't actively confuse fans as to whether it's a high school dramcom or an actual Digimon series.

I'm so sick of Adventure. It easily had the weakest stories of the franchise compared to the far superior Tamers, Frontier, and Savers.

I have fond memories of both Adventure and 02's gag dubs, but I can't get excited over what could just be high school drama with a thin Digimon layer on it.

Matrix, I understand your frustration here. Tamers and Savers are the best shows the Digimon franchise has but the curse of "First Instalment Wins" is sadly still a thing these days. While I do hope Tri does well so far it just seems bland and safe; a product of "Cool Japan" more than a love letter to a beloved series of yore.

More to do with dub did not do saver justice then it being people not licking most fans doing watch subs of next one hate dub of it. Savers so much better in japanese with subs.

I can't believe people liked Frontier. *gags* I hated it!!! Yes the designs were cool. But they took away human/Digimon partner dynamic. I haven't actually watched Savers, but I'm assuming that's what the "Digimon: Data Squad" game was based off, and I played that.

Well in theory they did not partners where the spirits they change to. Digimon Parker element was still there but in a unique way. Intresting take on it. Plus I hated dub I like sub more

I don't care for how they did it. Maybe if it was a constant merging of human and Digimon, like in Tamers, instead of a Digimon Spirit, I would have liked it better.

Frontier is my second favorite of the series, unfortunately what ruins it is that they focus too much on Takuya and Koji near the end.

Tamers and Frontier are my faves but I like Tamers a lot more because it wasn't just the Takato and friends show.

Frontier is a horrid series, but when put against Adventure and 02, it's a massive step forward, taking large risks and putting a new spin on the mythos.
I hated Frontier, but it's good points are quite clear. Tamers is still the best with Savers being done quite well aside from the bullshit 'happily ever after' ending akin to 02.

I liked how in Tamers almost everyone got megas,full character arcs and participated in the last battle*sure Gallantmon CM delivered the final blow but he wouldn't have gotten there without Beelzemon and his buddies helping him*

What made Tamers work well is that it integrates the other characters so well. While some minor characters don't get to do as much (Suzy and Lopmon, and what's his name with Guardromon), it makes good use of who they have (Kenta and MarineAngemon actually being vital in the final battle). The 3rd act focusing on two side characters up until that point, while featuring all our heroes.

The only real black marks I can give Tamers the bullshit deus ex machina in the form of Ryo and Cyberdramon/Justimon, and that Jeri/Juri spends most of the third act crying in the fetal position (I know it's important to the story, but it does kind of mean she becomes a non-character for a good 15 straight episodes).

It's the third story for the Adventure universe, hence why it's called Digimon "Adventure tri.", not just Tri.

No, that's the time of the announcement. On the 4th, 5th, and 6th the original series will be marathoned and when that's over the next bit of Tri news will air.

I was making a joke, and I don't feel tri is the dumbest name possible. It's not something like revengance or genysis, so I'm not as annoyed by it as you or Split Lip are.

As for relevance, they made freaking Hagurumon one of the player's starter Digimon in Cyber Sleuth, so really nothings to keep Sukamon or Numemon from the limelight if Toei was bored that day.

As for the "Poo" thing, you brought up the name in comparison to how stupid you found tri to be as a name and considered poo to be equal to it, and since Digimon actually has you manage your mon's waste in some games, and at least two Digimon are known for tossing said waste as an attack, I found it funny enough that the name you chose at random would make more sense with Digimon as a dumb idea for a spin-off than any other series off the top of my head. I wasn't applying real-world logic to the name, because I wan't treating it serious enough to consider it possible for a season, anymore so than you. If that didn't come across in my post, that's my bad.

I have no strong attachments to the name tri, but it's not like they went and called it "Digimon Adventure 1 1/2" (though considering who they're omitting, they might as well have).
