The wife and are on episode 27 of Den-O and just finished the first Den-O film, "I'm Born!". Good movie (if a little confusing at times). I love how the show led up to the film. Doesn't happen very often in Hesei-era shows! I'm hoping my Den-O belt shows up tomorrow. Stupid US Customs...

Anyways, currently watching Kuuga. On episode 4, quite enjoying it so far. |
What is the general feeling on Kiva? I sampled the first few minutes of episode 1. I really like his design and bike, but that might possibly be the worst Rider theme song I am aware of. I am still interested , just wanted to get an idea of what to expect.

I think Kiva has the best rider theme song and the best opening video.
I thought Kiva was an excellent series. The two time periods is really good and well done despite it making it look like the characters of the 80s are useless, the character development, especially for Kiva, is top notch. The best since Agito. The costumes are awesome, the Fanguires kick ass, and the fights are great. I do have some complaints about two things later on in the series dealing with time travel, but outside of that, Kiva is a solid series. |

Just finished episode 36 of Den-O. Got to see the introduction of Liner Form. Not bad! Although the number of forms are getting ridiculous at the point (not that that's a bad thing IMO). I know there's at least one other form to go (G Liner I think but I don't know if that's movie exclusive or not like Wing Form was). Still loving it! It's got a good story and it's hard not to like the Ryoutarou as our hero. Definitely becoming one of my favorite series. We'll finish it Saturday more than likely.

Anyway, Kiva is a very mixed series. You can probably find a lot to love, but there's tons of melodrama (Once the love triangle stuff hits), the comedy reaches a dead halt, and the overall feeling is like dead air during the late middle portion. It's certainly worth a watch though. |
Break the Chain IS awesome, my favorite theme. I also like Kuuga's though, so I don't know what Matrixbeast is talking about.
I love Kiva, the intro alone hooked me, but I loved every second of it. Even the the episode where Wataru goes back in time to stop his parents from getting together so he won't be born. His motivation is dumb, but everything else about the episode was awesome. I dug the back and forth between the timelines, I liked all of the characters, even those I expected to dislike, except I never cared much for Mio. And hands down the best Rider designs. |

You guys are so wrong it's not even funny. Break the Chain is my ringtone.
I thought OOO's theme was terrible at first, but it grew on me very quickly. I don't yet care much for Kabuto's theme. |

i swear if there is anything awesome, you hate it :lol anyways, i just finished ryuki, my god, THAT SERIES IS AMAZING!!! easily beats kabuto as my favorite |

Also, someone should make a "Rider Theme War Thread" before this all gets out of hand... |
climax jump all the way baby!!!!! (tied with wbx)

Kuuga's theme is just...Bad.
And severe lack of Blade's Elements is just horrifying. |

I like Kuuga and Agitos themes. Maybe Kiva will grow on me, it just stands out as the worst I have heard.
|
I just finished episode 6 of Ryuki, also bought a Zolda figuart off Ebay to go along with Ryuki and Knight in my collection. I think I will start buying the Ryuki figuarts because the show is starting to grow on me and I love the aesthetics of the KR designs from this show.

God, every time I go back to V3, I get the doofiest smile on my face.
|
Just watched 20 episodes of Kuuga in 1 day and holy shit it's awesome.

Just done with ep 30 and that's one hell of a kick.

Episodes 1 & 2 of Amazon , Episodes 1 & 2 of V3. Showa era goodness!
I made it 30 some episodes into W and stopped to catch up on Go-Busters and can't seem to be bothered to go back to it right now. I am kinda sampling a few series to see if any jump out at me the way OOO & Den-O did. So far Amazon is in the lead between that V3 and Kiva. |
I'm on episode 13 of Hibiki now. As much as I love Asumu, he's starting to become a bit of a jerk. This is what, the third time he's abandoned his friends to try and hang out with Hibiki when he's out working? It's feeling a lot less teacher-student and a lot more like annoying leech who can't appreciate the people who are already important to him.

Yeah, Asumu is one of the things about Hibiki I absolutely hate. ALl he does is whine and find something to make him depressed and then stalk Hibiki just to cheer him up.
|
just started episode 1 of hibiki
first scene:what in the hell is going on? that was one random ass episode if i must say so myself, Den-o has NOTHING on this shit :lol |
The wife and I finished Den-O Friday night. Great series. Loved every moment of it. Loved all of the characters (especially the Imagin) and there were quite a few of tear-jerker moments. Great balance of comedy, action and drama makes this is an all around great show! My wife loved it and is sad that there isn't more to watch :D The only nitpicks I would have with the series is the rather late introduction to the main villian and the typical issues that arise from time travel based shows. These didn't bother me enough to not love the series though (and other series have pulled the late main villian reveal...I'm looking at you Kuuga!).
We started W on Saturday and are on episode 9-10. I've already watched the whole series of W but my wife wanted to see it. Here are my rankings of the 6 series I've completed. They're all fantastic series but these are in the order I enjoyed them the most. 1. W 2. Den-O 3. OOO 4. Ryuki 5. Kuuga 6. Fourze Think I'll finish Agito next. |

We watched Ore Tanjou and Climax Deka. Haven't watched the third one yet. My wife refuses to watch any other ones that don't have Ryotaro in them. She loves him so I'm afraid that I'll have to watch the others on my own. |
