I was thinking this when I wrote all that, but I mean what they can come up in the PR universe. If it is just this with megazords, I would be okay with that.

I think they would be more inclined to make something more like Power Rangers but still manage to be its own. A knight theme would be cool but perhaps we could end up with an Insect team or even a rehash of MMPR maybe their kids or something XD

But how would be the reaction of the japanese public to a West-themed sentai ?

Like Korea, Japan like American stuff. Star Ninger is popular and he is pretty stereotypically American.

I know the times I have been to Japan, many people all told me of aspirations to visit the states. I mean, the most popular restaurant in the country is McDonald's; more people visit there in a day than Starbucks.

I think 6 is a good number. Series already have a hard time balancing 5 rangers, so 7 would be a complete nightmare.

Except Abaranger and Dekaranger both had 5 and 7 members respectively.

The amount of members in a Sentai is kinda meaningless so long as the team works.

DT dropped the ball on Trent after he became good. And SPD barely had anything for Syd to do, and we all know about the infamous Omega Ranger.

So I'm still standing by my point.

But the team wasn't the problem. It was the writing that was the problem.

Hell, Samurai, Megaforce, and Super Megaforce had six members each, and they're not well liked by fans.

Several years ago, we had very large Japanese firm as our client for the project I was working on. Like, one of the largest technology firms in Japan.

Anyway, we had a round of project meetings for a few days, and on the last day everyone was going out for a big business dinner. A couple of the younger Japanese guys asked if I could take them over to Toys R Us (which, at the time, was right near our office - it has since moved). I said sure and took them over.

These guys were both in their late 20s, early 30s. They did not talk much about their families, but when we went to TRU, they were very excited to get their hands on all of the "import" Transformers toys which they could not find back home. They both bought some TFs for their kids and told me how surprised they would be to get toys from America.

Things go both ways; here in the States many geeks are accused of being "Asia-philes" and liking things because they come from Asia; likewise, the same can be leveled at Eastern otaku for being "America-philes."

Even so, they couldn't balance the 5 rangers DT had to the point where Trent stopped having an impact on the story until the White Ranger clone was killed, while for SPD, even after making one of the characters a non-character, Syd still had incredibly little to do. While I still like the teams, it doesn't change that, even with a team of 5 and 6 (Or 7, if you count Shadow Ranger), they had a hard time giving all the members something to do, which is why I'd prefer a team of 6.
And that's only since 6ths are staples that aren't going to be removed, so with only 6 characters, there's a better chance of everyone getting a chance to make a name for themselves.

Again, that's all the writing. The main question was about the team as a whole.

That kinda question has no right or wrong answer. Hell, if you can make it work, have 20 members. Anything works if you're good enough.

Yes, the number of Rangers is not important. Dino Charge will have the most Rangers in a team in history, and so far it's looking rather good.

I may be a bit traditional but I like 6 Rangers. :D

Absolutely 3 men and 2 women every time, for me. If possible, even 3 women and 2 men, like Shinkenger did for a short while.

At some point we'll see an alien Ranger or two but perhaps never an entire team of them. The Aquitian Ranger were bland and right now there's no American market for a extrarestial Power Ranger team.

What about another red ranger from another planet like Andros ?

Yeah, but Andros looked like a normal human. The Aquitar rangers looked different and had to be around pure water to keep from dropping dead. I think Galvantula meant non-human looking aliens won't be around for a while.

But they tried going to the public pool during that time Hydrohog sucked up all the water.

Still, they couldn't sustain themselves for long periods without a large source of water.
I would definitely be down for more alien rangers. So far, the closest we've gotten were SPD Shadow and Kat, but Shadow didn't morph super often while Kat only transformed once...
SPD was ripe with natural alien characters. I'm surprised none of the main ranger cast were aliens.

As in the core 5 right? Considering how Kruger was the mentor and also a Ranger and all.

Don't forget the Time Force Green. He was an alien.

He still looked more human than the Aquitar rangers though.

I am also surprised that alien rangers weren't explored in SPD. They all had powers and the world was full of aliens; it just seemed to make sense. Oh well.

I think it doesn't matter. So long as the characters are good that should be the only issue. Hell, Dino Charge stuck with having one girl in the core five and its not an issue. Not everything has to be about ratios. No need to treat characters like numbers and not characters.

Is BoA going to ever release a deluxe Ptera Morpher? I know there was that cheap, unpainted, tiny one in the Gold Ranger training set, but there isn't a deluxe version that actually works.

No. There will be a cheap slightly better painted one with minimal sounds released next year most likely.
