One thing to note about the dub of Panty and Stocking, is that it's REALLY vulgar :lolol :lol XD.

We just watched the first 4 episodes ot Tiger & Bunny and the show is quite enjoyable thus far. It is more on the comedic side than I expected, as I was anticipating an action show, but it is still good. The banter between Barnaby and Tiger is hilarious, especially in the bomb episode. The only downside is I don't really have a character I can say I like all that much right now. That, and well, I'm hoping it is more than just nobody criminals because I need some actual villains that feel like threats. Nevertheless, in a few minutes we are going to finish the first disc.

I love that show. Probably one of my favorites. Just the right amount of comedy with right amount of action. Can get slow at times...but what anime doesn't?

That's not just the dub.

I had an aching for some good fantasy anime but didn't want to go back to Lodoss War. So instead I re-watched Seirei no Moribito...AKA the anime that was so good that its almost sad no one gave a damn about it. Its hard to call it "genre-breaking" but it had a subtle charm that truly sets it apart from a lot of anime then and now.

Agreed. Too bad it wasn't more popular. One of the most under rated shows.

Watching Brotherhood. It took me long enough but i have to say its really great. The first 12 episodes where kind of boring due to them just abridging the original show but it picks up and becomes better than the original.

So, after I mentioned you can't finish Eden of the East on Netflix a few days ago, they put up the final movie. Strange that.

PS I just remembered how shitty their browsing is. Even on the website I can't bring up all titles anymore.

Okay, I take back what I said about Tiger & Bunny, it is awesome. Episodes 6 and 7 were incredible and Lunatic instantly became my favorite character.

And that Max! has yet to suggest something I want to watch, or haven't watched already.

Not quite the same. In the original anime, Ed and Al meet Tucker before Ed becomes a state alchemist. In both the manga and Brotherhood, they meet Tucker after he is already one.

I didn't like Lunatic at first, but he does some stuff at the end of the series that made me love him. Also, he's played by Koji Yusa, who played Urataros.

THat is cool to know, but I'm watching the English dub and it is quite awesome. They all seem spot on with their look and personalities, especially the guy that does the voice to Fire Emblem.

Been taking a break from Mobile Suit Gundam to watch Ranma 1/2. It's silly and ridiculous, and I really enjoy it.

Is Sword Art Online a .Hack clone or does it do something different?

No. While the are two are similar in plot and setting, .Hack places more of an emphasis on character while SAO is more about the action. Not to mention .Hack at least remains consistent with how boring it is while SAO starts out strong but takes a dive fast... In other words, pick your poison.

Hmn. I liked .Hack. I think I'll give SAO a chance, is what I'll do. If nothing else I'll think of it as a spirutual sequel :lol

Anyone ever watch El Hazard? I remember watching it about 10 years ago...and I remember laughing my ass off. I'm afraid of rewatching it...cause nostalgia can often be cruel.

This will be partially a rehash, but I posted my entire thoughts on the show thus far:

I have to say, as a person who is somewhat tired of the same old anime cliches, Tiger & Bunny freaking rocks!! We watched the first volume (contains episodes 1-13) over the last two nights and have enjoyed nearly every minute of it. For those of you not in the know, it is a show about super heroes who are sponsored by corporations and their exploits are shown on TV for ratings. Each hero has different sponsor logos on their armor, with some of them being Bandai, Amazon.co.jp, SH Figuarts, Tamashii Nations, Pepsi, among other companies I have never heard of before (who could be companies from that universe). The main characters are an older hero in his 40s named Tiger and he is forced to partner up with a younger man in his 20s named Baranaby, whom Tiger constantly calls Bunny due to his speed and how his suit of armor looks. The show is full of action, comedy, and drama and the animation is quite good. The heroes are all likable, but so much so that I really cannot say any one of them truly stands out to me. On the other hand, there is another character that is a hero that kills, named Lunatic, that I absolutely loved the moment he first appeared. Overall, the show took me by surprise and is great so I definitely recommend giving it the first 6 or 7 episodes a try to see if you like it. It is very unique and feels fresh from what I am used to from anime. Lastly, the English dub is fantastic, so you can't go wrong with either language track.

SAO is your typical "trapped in a video game and if you die, you die for real" type show. What makes it stand out is the commitment to the idea. Most of the time, this plot lasts a day or two, but SAO lasts for years. There's 10000 people trapped, life moves on even in the video game. All the little features of MMOs become part of daily life. Add in some decent action and some likable characters and it makes for a great anime.


...and then the second half happens. Not only is it bad, but it's insulting too.

I watched the first 4 episodes of Sao. I really should continue. I think that's one of my biggest problems. There's sooooo much content out there, I wanna watch everything!! So I tend to jump from property to property. Is SAO worth continuing? How does it compare to accell world? Both seem to deal with similar elements.

The latter half of SAO is a complete and total masterpiece of shit... stick to Accell World.

The second half dose not add any thing to the show but at the end it opens up a world of endless possibilities that aren't never explored which sucks as For Accell Word it is worth a watch all the way through but the last episode doesn't feel like the end; I not sure if there will be a season two for it but there defiantly can be with so many question to answer. For SAO the first part is Great and worth staying up till 2 am to watch.

So I just checked out the first episode of that Danball Senki show everyone is going on about...erm, what is all the fuss about? I can't work out if this is meant to be a parody or not, being the most generic...blandest thing I've ever seen.

You may as well have called this Battle Anime, The Anime. As it just smashed together all Battle Anime into a huge mess with no coherency and none of the individual identity of those individual shows but with all of their stupidity.

And when an anime makes me miss the likes of Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade and Battle B-Daman then you know we have a problem. But most of all, I liked this way better when it was called 'Real Steel'.

I think the thing that made me hate it even more is no one spoke in anything other than exposition in this anime, the dialogue and character interaction was made so incredibly boring because of it.

Let me guess, gets good about thirty episodes in?

The toys are well designed and all, I love that clean CG animation but I'm currently watching a Battle Anime (well American Anime) in Kaijudo and I like that show way better.

I was curious about Danball Senki. I love the designs. Are they airing it anywhere online? Kinda reminds me a bit of Medabots.

I like the toys but i cannot stand watching Danball Senki.

I just didn't find it appealing. Watched the first 6 episodes and i was done, the toys are nice though and would love to get me one but the show reminds me too much of the early 2000s era of anime where almost everything release was a 20 minute toy commercial.
