Yep, Buffa is 1000% gonna be our standard Dark Rider for the show, looks appropriately menacing. The way the hand is emphasized on both buckle and suit makes me wonder if there's some kinda gimmick to it, like it's a poisonous touch...?

This is very random but I'm kinda shocked that with the anmount of people who seemingly want/expect a Faiz connection in Geats I don't think I've seen anyone mention that our Penguin rider's helmet does seem to be reminiscent of Kaixa's helmet?

I don't think it means much of anything personally, I feel like there's a good chance it's a total coincidence. I'm just surprised I haven't seen it be a big thing (unless it was and I missed it lol)

Oh yeah I did notice it but I was caught up in the hype announcements that night that I sorta forgot.

No matter what happens with Ginpen, I will forever stand by his side. Even if he kills someone at Christmas. Even if he's somehow Kaixa reincarnated. Though I do find it funny that his helmet resembles Kaixa's.

Personally, in such lighting, he reminds me more of the Another Agito.

I'm kind of surprised they're showing him off before the secondary unless that's because he's an antagonist and won't be around long.

This evil Rider person will have a hard time being taken seriously by people who suffered through Kamen Rider Wizard, because the first thought coming out of my brain after reading the name "Kamen Rider Buffa" was:

"Bu-Bu-Bububu-Buffa!"

The second was "Mayonnaise".

Personally I'm very confused about a lot of the information we're getting from both official sources and leaks...

It's very strange to me that Buffa is the one who's items are coming with the item holder set / the belt and holder combo set... I wonder if Buffa will be a really big part of the show... at the very least at the start. It would be sort of fun to have a rival/villain character who shares focus with our protagonist

It's still baffling to me if it's true that Tycoon is the secondary rider, but also won't have an ID core released until it is sold through a Christmas campaign?? This genuinely leaves me with a LOT of questions, because that is just weeeeiiiiiiiiird... I suppose it's possible that maybe Tycoon won't become a proper active character in the show until like Q2 and the christmas campaign will serve as an "early" chance to get your hands on his ID Core with a proper release coming later?? Or maybe his will be a gashapon or candy toy exclusive, with the campaign version being more in line with the DX items??? I have no idea, it's very confusing to me lol

At the moment I'm getting the impression that at the very least from a suit and toy-release perspective Geats may wind up being a very atypical show (which isn't bad, but I'd really like to know why there's so many oddities in the alledged toy schedule)

Personally, I expect something like Genm and Calibur from him. But time will tell.


For some reason, many see Geats as a connection to Kabuto, so maybe the situation with the secondary rider will be similar and in the first quarter of the show Tycoon (or what is his real name?) will be an ally without armor / weak player in basic form, and just before Christmas becomes a full-fledged rider.

I like Buffa's design. The eyes remind me of Dark Lugiel from Ultraman Ginga, which makes me happy, since that was an amazing design.

Genm didn't get any proper DX release until Dangerous Zombie was released months into the shows run (with Dan's other 2 gashats both being campaign items), and even that was pretty memorably under-produced (I remember my HLJ pre-order being delayed and having to email HLJ bc it had been so long and them being like "bandai sent us waaaaaaay less than we expected, and are only drip feeding us new ones") until it got a rerelease later, so to me it feels like Bandai didn't see Genm as a big selling point or major enough character until later when Dan exploded in popularity.

And Calibur's belt was released fully stand alone... And Calibur was just kind of weird all around in terms of the suit's use in the show itself

So something about Buffa having pack-in items in a version of the base belt just feels different, makes me think he'll have a lot of extra focus... The items packed in with the "bigger" belt set are usually reserved for items that belong to the protagonist or a secondary rider, so I really do think it may be meaningful that Buffa got this position... The only real exception I can think of is Cheetah coming with the progrise holder set, and while she's not the secondary rider she is a very major character in the show for sure.

Not to mention that Buffa is the largest silhouette on the poster and is right next to Geats seemingly implying a level of extra importance, or at the very least potentially an earlier appearance than other characters... (though admitedly Genm is in a very similar position in the Ex-Aid poster lol)

Personally I'm still expecting him to be villainous based on his design, but it would be interesting if he's a very focussed on character right from the start of the show... Maybe he'll be the reigning champ of the game or something like that and be seen as a big obstacle by everyone participating? Though it would also be really fun if he's not a villain at all and he's just a well meaning guy who happens to have a terrifying looking Buckle

Mostly I'm just curious why he's getting the toy spotlight over all the other riders...

But who knows, the thought on Bandai's part might just be "let's toss in an extra rider to increase the value of the combo set and potentially increase sales numbers" and Buffa shows up early so they picked him, it could be that simple and mean nothing really

I could def see this being the case! More recently Build was a bit like that where we saw Cross-Z on some of the earliest posters, but it took like 2 months or so before Banjo ever henshined

But I still just hope it's not exclusively a campaign item, I really don't want to pay hyper inflated prices for it, I've done that in the past and it's never fun

Is it possible Buffa is actually the secondary rider? Secondary riders typically have a blue color scheme when the main rider is red or orange, and Buffa is blue. Also, he's getting the toy push that a secondary rider would typically get, while Tycoon isn't getting anything major in Q1.

Buffa looks too intimidating/imposing for a second Rider to me. Unless they're going for something unconventional.

I think Tycoon is assumed to be the secondary because his face(?) came first in the PV when showing off the other Riders and he and Geats share the first major upgrade item.

In my opinion, the reason is that Tycoon is a tanuki and he is the most obvious partner choice for fox-Geats. And with the third cat, they just form a triad of Japanese shapeshifter`s animals. Yes, and Buffa, as for me, is more purple than blue, and this is the color of villains.

I'm kind of curious if this series is going to be another one that explores what it means to be a Kamen Rider and watch the protagonist grow into a more "ideal" Kamen Rider over time, at least since the last Takahashi show had everyone basically yelling out what their Rider stood for and that kind of theme is usually a trend in Battle Royale Rider shows.

The protagonist is very confident and seems to be in it just for the thrills and to show off how awesome they are, but I very much doubt that will stick, especially when it stops feeling like a game.

I'm also wondering how many Kaijin we'll get.

Well, I would not draw conclusions about the character's type before the episodes. No matter how no one puts scenes in the early trailer where the main character whines or is beaten. So, if you remember, in similar trailers, even Den-O and the Ghost looked quite confident.
As for the kaijins, I think everything will be pretty classic. A dozen at the initial stage, then heels of a higher level and at the end a couple of bosses.

What confuses me in the concept of the Royal Battle for Geats is that the preview says that the task of the riders is to fight monsters and save civilians. How will these same civilians react to the fact that their rescuers begin to fight among themselves? It is more logical here either to attack stealthily, or the concept of duels, when a rider can challenge another and resolve their conflict in a duel without exposing outsiders to risk.

To be fair, civilians in Rider series usually scramble and flee the moment a monster attacks. Assuming Geats follows suit, it would be pretty easy for aggressive/antagonistic riders to just wait until the civilians are gone to start fighting other riders.

And that's assuming Rider vs Rider fights will be seen as bad by the public. There could be some riders who gain popularity by being an asshole.

Btw, do we have clear dates for when the belt releases in Japan? I thought I saw one image thay said "August 20th" but other sources are saying September?

I'm sorry, but I have zero hype for this show... partly due to the fact that I really can't stand Takashashi's writing, I'm not super into Takebe's style either, and the whole "shooting"/"battle royale" theme is something I'm also not into at all... sigh. Just needed to vent.

Personally, I've enjoyed Revice so much, I'm just sad to see it go. The first Rider show in a long time that I've truly been into from start to finish.

Revice will return more than once in crossovers, specials, V-cinema, and maybe even anime. I actually really like this approach in tokusatsu, and in general with Asian series, because they create a complete story, and do not milk one idea for many years, until the ratings fall below nowhere, and the heroes who betrayed their principles a hundred times become disgusting to the old fans. But there is nothing wrong with missing a year of riders either.

Given the buckles seem to be identified by a rail system, I wonder if someone might make a hack buckle to explore what sounds the driver might have in it...

They always do, don?t they? I remember most of reiwa?s main drivers being hacked anyways so probably this one too.

The thing is, Toei could make sure sure the hack isn't complete by ensuring that the available buckles don't have pins in a specific row, effectively changing how many combinations a hacker would think there are.

Better look at the new riders

Personally I like Daipan's helmet design the most. The others are just ok.
