Any chance we might see the new episodes on DVD in Spring 2024 for the 3 part special?
They had released Power Of The Doctor on DVD. |

Well not a lot of Disney plus shows get home released. We have yet to see anything Marvel that's D+ exclusive. That's why Doctor Who has me wondering. That's what the question was based on.

The thing is, while the exact level of involvement Disney+ isn't fully known, it seems to just be doing international streaming going forwards, basically doing what Netflix used to do. It's not exactly the same as a show produced by a Disney subsidiary like Marvel or Lucasfilms. That doesn't guarantee it a home media release - that's a dying breed as more and more people rely purely on streaming and thus there's less money for lower end releases - but Doctor Who seems to have a reliable enough market that it'll come out somehow, at least on its home turf.

Well that usually means an R1 release. If true to form I'll continue to watch Doctor Who Saturday night on DVD.
My current schedule Doctor Who Saturday 8:00 PM Resuming with Doctor Who XXVII 9th Doctor 07 The Long Game this week. My plan is to watch all of the 2005 run in order (including Infinity Quest and Dreamland) and also holiday specials. The hold was to include The Power Of The Doctor. I expect to be done in early 2026 with no weeks off. If I time it right I can add the 14th and 15th Doctor to this run. |
Doesn't the "The Daleks" with Hartnell's First Doctor contradict the history depicted in "Genesis of the Daleks" with Baker's Fourth Doctor?
The First says that the ancestors of the Daleks and the Thals before their war were "Dals" and "Tals" and that the Daleks are the way they are because they haven't "come full circle" yet. However, the Fourth sees Kaleds and Thals at war and the Daleks are experiments by Davros rather than wartime mutations with no mention of the previous histories! |
Trying to make a coherant Dalk timeline, even just out of their TV appearances, is an exercise in futility. The old BBC Cult Website for the explanation was that the Daleks in "The Daleks" were the left-behind remnants of the full Dalek race, early prototypes dependent on static power, and the Thals have their story wrong from centuries of knowledge drift, but the real explanation is that audiences wouldn't be expected to remember an unrepeated, decade old story at that point, and Terry Nation didn't want to be beholden to an off-the-cuff bit of lore he'd already contradicted himself in his 60's Daleks comics to restrict his stories.

I haven't watched Who in a long time, but from what I remember of both modern and classic Who is that it contradicts and retcons itself constantly. I think Skaro had been destroyed at least three times

A new mobile game is coming up
Doctor Who - Lost In Time It starts with the 13th Doctor and currently there are 13 episodes in the game. This could be interesting. I had also finished 2 other games Doctor Who Legacy which ended with Clara and the 12th Doctor fighting the Cyber King. Doctor Who - The Lonely Assassin You find somebody's cell phone and fight the Weaping Angels guided by Petranella Osgood from UNIT. Played a 3rd one Doctor Who Infinity A Match 3 / comic hybrid game. 5 episodes. Also watching the 3rd Doctor on Brit Box. I have a PC CD with all 5 Adventure Games with Amy and the 11th Doctor. |
