Kakuranger is a series that revels in how weird it's plots are and how serious it doesn't take itself.
|
Really? I guess this is another case of 'that stuff comes later'.

It's more "It gets...Weird later on" :lol In all likelihood, it's not a show for you, judging based on your tastes, but it's better than fish people. |
I guess that one goes on the backburner for later then!

KakuRanger is by far one of the best Sentai series out there. Just because the first episode did nothing for you means nothing. The first half of the show is goofy, the second half is far more serious.

The first episode is quite possibly the most important episode in the entire series because it's the one that gets your attention, peaks your interest and keeps you watching. It failed to do any of those things.

It just has to do so much in so little time. It doesn't give you a proper feel for the series, it just tosses characters and plot at you and hopes it hooks you. |
It still makes it the most important.
And I still stand by the fact that with so much out there I want to watch, I haven't got time to watch like twenty episodes of every single series I've ever been vaguely interested in so that the internet will allow me to have an opinion on it. If the opening episode does nothing for me at all, I'm done and moving onto something else. |
For Kaku, the zaniness begins by episode 3, actually.
And I don't feel that way. I've honestly never found a pilot episode that wasn't crap. Even my favorite shows (Like Gekiranger, OOO, MLP, or Teen Titans) had bad pilots (And, in Teen Titans's case, a bad first season :lol). I understand why you feel that way, but the mantra of "It gets better later" is universally true since, by watching one episode, I really feel you're watching the worst episode any given show can produce. :lol |

I'll tell you this. DekaRanger had one of the worst Sentai openings I have ever seen, but I still stuck with the series. |
