"Old BBC Cult Website"?

Skaro got detonated in the 7th Doctor era, brought back in an incredibly convoluted retcon in the 8th Doctor novels, was implied to be gone in the New Series before being brought back in 11th and 12th Doctor eras.

The best one is Atlantis, which got destroyed by Fish Men... then destroyed by Kronos the bird creature... then dstroyed by the Daemon from The Daemons, all in the space of about 5 years.

The BBC's Doctor Who website from the early 00's. Contained a lot of photo's and descriptions of old episodes, including bits from several fan works. It's technically unsupported now, but is still hosted, just difficult to access - here's the bit you might be interested in. Bear in mind this entire piece is a fan's own attempt at a timeline, nothing from the people writing the episodes, and is official insofar as it's hosted on a BBC Website ran by James "War Criminal" Goss. EDIT - I am informed by my sources it comes from "The Discontinuity Guide", so is produced under license from the people who were making Doctor Who books at the time, so I guess that makes it even more nebulously official. It's still a retcon of a retcon, mind.

Did I include that line as bait to let me tell this story? Of course.

James Goss is a long-running associate of the show, working on a lot of expanded universe content, including Big Finish, the books, masterminding the Time Lord Victorious multimedia deal you might've seen a few years back, and most importantly for this story, running a bunch of tie-in websites to the show in 2005. This included a website for fictional organisation UNIT, which had been in the show since the 60's, explicitly calling it the "UNITED NATIONS Intelligence Taskforce". There was a little disclaimer at the bottom of the page saying how the website was for a totally fictional show, but it was easily missed.

To the Doctor Who Production Office's door one day arrives a letter, claiming to be from the UN, asking them to modify the website to make it clearer its not associated with the actual UN. Everyone had a good laugh at the obvious prank, and it got forgotten about. Until the next one showed up, highlighing the bit of the Geneva Conventions governing the use of UN symbols and threatening legal action. James Goss, webmaster at the time, phoned up showrunner RTD, slightly terrified of being deported to the Hague, and they quickly changed the website and even the name of the organisation. From their next appearance in Series 4, just to be safe, they were renamed the "UNIFIED Intellgence Taskforce". It's a nothing-change, and the show still makes allusions to them being a UN Organisation, but there's now much less chance of any webmasters being accused of violating Geneva Conventions.

(It's also funny because of his twitter threads detailing how he's been dragged into Turkish courts due to owning a listed building or something? Goss has an interesting life.)

I've seen Rose - The Power Of The Doctor on DVD as well as Shada with the 4th Doctor and The Scream Of The Shakla with the alternate 9th Doctor.

It's close to time for the 14th Doctor so yesterday I sawpped in to Disney +.

I had even managed to finish Power Rangers Dino Fury on Netflix.

Generally I have one active feed. While I wait for Doctor Who I can catch
up stream exclusive Marvel shows and any Star Wars episodes I missed.

Also will be watching any MCU movies I have yet to see. I'll be using my
I Pad next month.

The reason I switch feeds is because the shows I watch go on break
after I watch the last active episode. It depends on what shows
are running.

What was this weird car thing in "Invasion of the Dinosaurs"?

That’s the Whomobile, a car Jon Pertwee had created specifically for use in the show.

Been thinking about signing up for Brit-Box, but there are concerns about what is truly available via that option.

For example, Hartnell's last regular arc, "The Tenth Planet", seems to be missing in its entirety!

Is that merely an example of still-missing arcs, or have some arcs that have been rereleased to DVD/Blu-ray in the past few years (with possible animation to cover the gaps) still not received a digital upload up to this point?

It should be noted that "The Tenth Planet" is not alone in this. There are other arcs which are clearly not available on Brit-Box. That one was just a convenient and noteworthy example.

BritBox doesn't have any of the animated reconstructions, full or partial. Last I knew, at least some of them were available via AMC's premium service. Not sure what'll happen with that with the Disney+ deal coming up soon.

The only exception is that they have a telesnap version of Wheel in Space, which was supposed to be the first of several recreations that never actually materialized.
