More Ryuki hate oh boy! Not to insult anyone's opinion or anything, but any time Locke talks about Dragon Knight, this discussion comes up.

Kind of. The Mirror Monsters are Xaviax's personal army, so he creates Riders to go after Wing Knight but then he also sends his Mirror Monsters either as back up or has them working constantly behind the scenes as he searches for those with the perfect DNA samples.

Well, I choose to follow the theory about the movie and special being previous time resets, but that's just me.

God I hadn't missed the terrible editing of the Ryuki footage, then again Len is an amazing physical actor, his unmorphed fights are probably the best action sequences in the whole show. He's like the only toku hero I can think of who gets LESS awesome when transforming. :lol

This episode has a major twist, which is mentioned entirely offhand, and without any context at all. Things just changed, dramatically, and I'm left with so many questions but the show apparently doesn't see it as a big deal. Well then.

The change from Ren to Len still really really bothers me. Ren sounds like an actual name, and while Len could be short for Leonard or something, it still sounds really really bad.

And fairly lazy as far as naming goes. Heck I'd believe Ren as an American name way before Len.

"Ren" doesn't sound any less fake. "Len" IS short for Leonard. Shorter than "Lenny."

I think you guys just think "Len" sounds fake simply because it's a like-sounding name. Has nothing to do with it's legitimacy as a name.

I is currently re-watching Blade, just a few episodes till I get Blade Ace Form & Garren Ace Form tomorrow :p.

Need help in deciding which Rider series to watch next.


I've watched Ryuki, Kabuto, Decade, W and Faiz (in that order) and I'm currently keeping up with Gaim.

I watched the first episode of OOOs but it was kinda....odd. Not bad, but there was certainly a bit of mood whiplash trying to watch it in between episodes of Faiz.

I saw the first two episodes of Kuuga. Seems interesting. Dig the horror aspect of it. But the pacing feels kinda slow. And this may sound odd coming from a Ryuki fan, but the special effects kinda put me off.

I've heard terrible things about Wizard, and for some reason, I have it in my mind that the Neo-Heisei series are probably best when watched in order, which is why I've been putting off Fourze.

Seems like you've mostly seen Heisei stuff, so why not something from Showa? If you're up for that, I highly suggest Kamen Rider Black.

Black doesn't seem like a bad choice. I saw one episode but for some reason stopped halfway through, not necessarily cause it was bad though. Might give it another look.

Blade. Just Blade. If you get bored by the first episode, that's fine, but I think you should give it a shot. While the main cast of Blade isn't as big or diverse as the ones you listed, the stories are pretty tight knit so you can enjoy the characters even more.

I'd stay away from Wizard if I were you. Its super cliche and takes no risks.

There's a lot of subtle intricacy in the Blade designs.

I think Den-O is a nice change of pace, funny yet keeping true to the usual Kamen Rider core.

Blade or Agito! I can recommend the hell out of Agito if you liked Faiz.

In terms of the Len discussion...I don't understand.

Len IS a real name, Ren isn't. How can you say Len sounds silly and Ren sounds real? I don't understand...

May not be the most common name in the world, but it's still real enough for several fictional characters to share the name as well as at least two notable people having it as well.

I've personally never heard anybody go by name of Len, however. Lenny or Leonard, sure, but not Len. I'm not questioning the 'realness' of it, but the first time I've ever heard Len used was in DK, while I've heard the name Ren at least twice before Ryuki, both times in Western shows.

I have family friends called Len. I've never met anyone called Ren, or heard anyone called Ren in shows. I assumed it was just a Ryuki translation error as in Japan L and R are a bitch. Not to mention Ren gets a fat red squiggly whereas Len doesn't.

The first time I heard the name 'Ren' was from Ren and Stimpy, and there's Ren Stevens from Even Stevens.

I mean, it doesn't bother me either way. A name I haven't heard before doesn't come close to breaking a show for me, especially since my own name is so out there.

So I completely forgot where I was at when I last watched hibiki, so since I only made it to at least somewhere in the early twenties....I'll just use this as an excuse to watch it all from the begining again! Though are there any subs woth clearer visuals?

Sadly, no. A group started resubbing it a few years ago, but they lost the raws when Megaupload went down.

It's one of the better ones, in my opinion. It's basically a Kamen Rider version of Seven Samurai.

Well that sounds completely awesome. I might check that out first. Sucks about the clearer subs being gone though.

Super-1 Episode 21: Really enjoyed this episode a lot. A Great plan of Dogma to create a monster based on Super-1 but they couldn't replicate his Five hands, so they create a great plan to steal the Five Hands from him. Great creativity of General Megirl's part especially with his live on the line from Terror Macro. Though the monster's arrogance cost ruined the plan by only taking 3 of the 5 hands. Radar Hands kick ass by the way. Interesting to see the monster get blown up by the Elektro Hands of Super-1 instead of a Rider Kick. Looks like it's the Final Showdown with General Megirl next which should be good. Super-1 is really good right now.

DK 19. God even the American fight footage is poorly edited.

I love how Kit is as baffled as the audience by the sheer quantity of Riders in this show. It's especially bad considering he and Len are the only Riders who even vaguely count as characters... and maybe at a push, JTC as well. But it's hard to separate 'fun villain' from 'genuinely a great character'.

And Chris well...for all of the flash, and punch, of his death sequence and the wider implications which I'm sure will never be addressed Chris never had the chance to become a great character because the writers wrote themselves into a corner so quickly. Asthma is a clever device to give the character a life risking complication without the need for graphic visuals, the problem is, is when you give a character something like asthma and STILL have to use up footage of them fighting you have to keep making up bullshit to give them a reason to be fighting in the first place. I'm sad he's dead but this couldn't have really gone any further, I'm surprised it went as far as it did.

Purely in terms of design, Spear looks AWESOME and although I think Axe is ultimately kinda dull, it looks a bit more like an actual suit of high tech armour than the others do which I like as that is what they are supposed to be.

My friend is a 4th grade teacher and she has a kid in her class named Yankee. Ashley Simpson's son's name is Bronx Mowgli. Hell, my sister's name is Keytin, and I've never seen that name with that spelling before.

Any string of letters can be a "real" name. I could name my child Gorflindop and it'd be a real name. :rolleyes
