Watched the 15th Doctor on DVD but did see it on Daily Motion.

Yeah, you're right - just saying it was 'too soon' after his departure does seem like an oversimplification. From what I've read, Tom Baker was pretty burned out by the end of his run as the Fourth Doctor and was hesitant to return so soon. There?s also the fact that he?s always been a bit unpredictable when it comes to Doctor Who appearances. He?s even said in interviews that he didn?t want to do The Five Doctors because it didn?t feel like the right time for him personally.

On 24 November 2017, an effort to complete the serial officially, using newly recorded dialogue from the original cast (using the serial's original recording engineer and audio equipment), and new animated footage to complete the missing segments, was released as a digital download; DVD and Blu-ray releases followed on 4 December that year, in Region 2. The new sequences were animated by the same team that undertook the 2016 animated edition of the 1966 serial The Power of the Daleks, including director Charles Norton, with lead character art by Martin Geraghty, character shading by Adrian Salmon, props by Mike Collins, and background art by Daryl Joyce.

A two-disc Region 1 DVD release was originally set to be made available on 9 January 2018; this was later postponed in the US and Canada to 4 September that year. The serial was released on 10 January 2018 in Region 4.

The final completed version received its US debut broadcast on 19 July 2018, on BBC America, with guide data giving the episode title as "The Lost Episode" rather than "Shada".

On Blu Ray in 2021 it was split into 6 episodes.

Also Tubi has posted several lost animated episodes for the 2nd Doctor. Not sure if they have Galaxy 4 up however. Hopefully we see The Highlanders.

An article regarding one of the recent issues of the official Doctor Who Magazine mentioned how the '80's Sci-fi series Blake's 7 is coming to Blu-ray and that it did crossover with DW in a manner of speaking.

I admit to having no familiarity with this series. I looked it up briefly and it appears to be similar to the Mirror Universe in Star Trek (to a point).

Is this an "iconic series" or the definition of "cult following" or a "take it or leave it but certainly not for everyone" type of thing?

I haven't seen it, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. But from the reviews, it seems like it's one of those shows where you have a charismatic, sarcastic protagonist and a bunch of constant goofy background extras that he makes fun of.

Blake’s 7 is fun but it’s also very, very 70s. Hell of a final episode.
