The thing about OhRanger is that it's theme and general darkness came at totally the wrong time. Just check out what was happening in Japan at the time it was airing. That'll pretty much explain it's poor reception and why they went 180o in tone after it. It was no fault of Toei and co however, no way they could have foreseen it.

The mecha suit will almost certainly be more "humanely" proportioned ;)

I'm guessing the suit is going to look absolutely nothing like the toy. Or be predominately CGI. (which I honestly don't know why they don't just do that anyway, Megazords are like the one thing I think are improved by being done digitally, rather than practically. It shouldn't just be saved for the stacked abominations)

Like most people, these inital scans have me pretty disappointed. As others have pointed out, the suits look a little plain to me compared to what we've seen before but maybe if I see them in action, I may grow to like it. The megazord also looks a little too simple in terms of transformation and just looks kind of awkward, but I think that it is slowly growing on me already as I really do like the head. It might be too early to say too much about it though.

In an anime that kind of crazy design could probably be really cool, but just trying to imagine someone wearing that Simon Cowell zord costume makes my head spin for all the wrong reasons.

Super boring designs. I've seen porn parodies of Sentai with better costume designs than this. There's so many things I can think of to make these look better. They're that bland.

That said, I do like the weapons. Very Go-Onger in the right ways.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one starting to come around to these designs. I don't know why but the sheer weirdness of everything is starting to work for me.
