Ryotaro is in Final Countdown, and it's a good movie too, you should watch it. My wife lost interest after that film, and I haven't gone back to watch the others myself yet, either.

I have it downloaded and ready to go. Maybe we'll watch that tonight.

Honestly I don't blame her for not wanting to watch anything without the proper Ryotaro. I don't like the little kid and he's just ignored mostly for Momo anyways. Not that I hate Momo (you have to like him to like Den-O), but it was really Ryotaro that made me love the show.

I don't blame her either. You become attached to the character and the actor portaying them. Especially in Takeru Shiroh's case...that guy is a great actor. I know they replaced him because he was ready to move on and pursue other things (like Ruroni Kenshin...that better be released in the States!) but I think it would have been better to just end everything after he was done. Don't get me wrong, I like the look of New Den-O (saw him in Let's Go Kamen Riders and I agree that was more of a Den-O movie than an OOO movie), I just don't think something should be continued just because it is popular.

Just finished Kuuga. Really good series, enjoyed it a lot. However, I didn't like the final fight with No.0.

Don't worry about that...I didn't like it either. It was very anti-climatic in my opinion. Didn't ruin the series for me but I felt it just wasn't a very strong finish. The show as a whole rocks though :D

You're not alone, a lot of us have problems with Kuuga's finale. Still a great show though.

Definitely not the only one that had a problem with the Finale.

Well I liked it.

I don't hate it but the finale just doesn't live up to the awesomeness of the show.

This. Maybe I'm just spoiled on the other series I've completed but I've always felt that the final battles were epic in Den-O, OOO, Fourze and Ryuki. W's final battle wasn't super great but I felt it closed the story quite well.

As for what I'm watching right now, I watched episode 1 and 2 of Kabuto last night. Like it so far. Love the suit design on Kabuto. I don't mind the cockyness/douchebaggedness of Tendou. At least so far :lol

Just started Agito and what the hell ? "G3 should have pwned Unidentified Lifeforms" but got pwned by the first Unknown then Agito beat it like it was nothing. Is there that much difference ?

G3 is designed to fight the Grongi from Kuuga actually. The 2 series are supposed to be conencted. He was never meant to fight the Uknown so his weapons can't do much to them at the start.

That's what I meant, are the Unknown that much stronger than Grongis that G3 can't do anything to them ?

That's what I've gathered so far. I'm only about 10 episodes in to Agito and G3 seems to be able to do some damage the further the series progresses. It's kind of like the police department in Kuuga. They were useless at first so they started developing new weapons and eventually were able to hurt (and in one or two instances, kill) the Grongi. I think the same thing happens with Agito. We'll see though! :D

We'll never know for sure as I don't think Grongis and Unkowns ever meet (Unless it was in a crossover group shot), but I figure they are just different rather than "stronger." G3 doesn't have the tools to fight Unknowns, but he gets them later.

In at least one version of the Kuuga/Agito backstory I've read the Lords had at one point protected the Rinto from the Grongi. I don't remember why they stopped - possibly the Overlord of Darkness's defeat - but they eventually did and that's one of the factors that contributed to the Rinto having to create Kuuga.

That would involve getting Joe Odagiri to willingly work in tokusatsu again. He pretty much turned his back on the genre to focus on films.

This post just adds to my crazy theory that Agito was suppose to end (or have a crossover movie post show) with the Overlord of Darkness summoning Kuuga (with black eyes) to fight Agito. Afterall, Kuuga was the warrior of the Linto, thus making him fill the protector role that the Lords have. Plus, they already built up that Kuuga was a dark warrior and Agito was a light warrior. Joe Odagiri not willing to come back only explains why this didn't happen and why Ryuki started the yearly reboot(ish) thing.

I've been hesitate to mention this theory before because I still feel as if I'm missing a lot from Kuuga due to the Grongi subs not being done.

WARNING: Sorry for the long post and SPOILERS

Well I just finished up my second viewing of Kabuto and God Speed Love. I love the show to death but there are some serious issues I never noticed until this second viewing.

- Where did the Hopper Zectors come from? How and why were they given to Yaguruma of all people? When Kageyama questioned Mishima about the new rider (Kick Hopper) he had no idea what he was talking about and then we never got any further explanation.

- Drake is ridiculously useless and stupid. I stomached him fine the first time but on a second viewing he is an annoying womanizer with little to no substance who is completely absant for a significant portion of the series, entirely absent during the finale, and only shows up in the stupid epilogue.

-Dark Kabuto is also utterly useless. When he was approached by the Worm and then attacked them they said they would groom him, that he was currently only a child. Then they died and he did nothing at all except sacrifice himself in the finale. After Hiyori left him he had absolutely no reason to exist. Tendou should have destroyed him long ago.

-TheBee. Yaguruma was fine as TheBee. He was a cool guy aside from the whole Kanzen Chowa stuff. Kagami was also just fine as TheBee even if it was brief. But Kageyama is an awful flippant character. Plain and simple. He's greedy, narcicistic, and power mad. He's willing to trade the lives of others for his own and to keep his power. I hated him the entire series but he was slightly more tolerable as Punchhopper. Especially when we got to see Yaguruma kill him

-Tsurugi is awesome and then 180's into a complete goofball. 1) Why does he think he's human? There's no trauma that would explain why he for sure thought he was human and had witnessed his sisters death. 2) When he does discover that he's a Worm he somehow manipulates ALL of the other worms to do his bidding? And 3) Why did he sacrifice himself if he'd become a true worm? What the hell was going on with his character at all? He's awesome, then goofy, then awesome, then evil, then dies. What the hell?

-God Speed Love is a great movie in all honesty. Other than the useless 3 exclusive riders. Ketaros and Hercus were just fine. But Caucasas? Was just ridiculous. He's no one important at all that I could tell. He's just some random goofy looking guy with the Hyper Zecter and was beaten incredibly easily. And I am definitely someone who believes this movie to be a direct prequel to the TV series. The meteor that hit Shibuya is the one Tendou brought from the future. And the Hyper Kabuto that runs around sort of helping out until TV Kabuto gets the Hyper Zecter is the God Speed Love Tendou.

All in all this is still a great show even with these shortcomings. It's fun, has a dark aspect, great rider designs, and a good overall plot. It's just that it's problems do become more apparent in later viewings. It's like they had a ton of great ideas and just fumbled them along the way. I can see where things could have gone better than they did but unfortunately the series hurts from all of the missed opportunities.

Just finished the third episode of Agito, looking forward to seeing where this series goes.

A lot of Kabuto's problems go back to the writing staff. The head writer, Shoji Yonemura (aka the main writer for Decade's second half), sucks at long-term planning. He can do two-episode arcs fairly well, but he can't sustain longer storylines and ongoing plots worth a damn.

THAT must be why i hate kabuto so much. im the complete opposite of it. i could tell u an entire plot of a series i make up, but im f*cked if u ask me wat happes on a certain episode :lol

Despite my complaints I do love the series. Enough to watch it fully twice. It has it's issues to say the least but the redeeming qualities far outweigh this. It's probably in my top 5 rider shows right now.

Also, I was just watching Den-O's movie, Ore Tanjou, and I didn't realize G Den-O and Gaoh had the same belt music.

Ive gotten around to watching the first episode and felt meh about it. I know that everyone says it picks up in the early teens. I believe them too. So ive torrented the whole series to work my way through. The designs of the Riders alone were always enough to convince me, i'd just never gotten around to it.

Blade has the worst beginning I've ever seen in a series. Watching the first 12 or so episodes was a chore because there is no explanation for anything (And no, I'm not complaining that they're not turning to the audience and spelling everything out).
It's actually quite interesting. I've seen stories trudge along with no plot all the time, but rarely do I see a plot move without a story. :lol

On episode 5 of Agito because busy playing games :lol. Everything looks great so far except some emo moments of Shouichi.

I think you mean Ryo. Shouichi is the most anti-emo rider I've ever seen (though he has a few moments). Plus, episode 5 was a Ryo/Gills episode.

PS Gills' early henshins are awesome.

No episode 6 was Ryou, and yeah I did say "some" moments.

And he suddenly turned into a "monster" so being a bit emo was natural.

I'm taking a break from Kamen Rider outside of Wizard. I am in a One Piece mood, and with October coming out, I plan to watch a lot of Tales from the Crypt inbetween my hororr movies.
