Not rider, but who thinks that Sword Art would be good for a So-Do series? The amount of characters/forms is slightly overwhelming for a series of larger, more expensive figures but So-do doesn't seem to be worried about large cast and intricate details. Who'd be interested in it?

It is unclear how human faces and hair would look/work in the SODO scale.

Kamen Rider is fortunate to be largely masks and helmets. If they were ever to do something like Sword Art, I think they'd have to do stickers for faces, which isn't ideal.

I could more likely see SHODO-X being adapted for Sword Art. SHODO-X has branched out to Digimon, and while those more organic shapes look good, the cost is on the higher side for figures that small.

We have Hell Rising Hopper! It's Shining Assault Hopper, but evil, and with abs! It seems to be a movie thing, he comes with Progrise Key stickers you can put on certain figures' belts, and he rounds out AI 11 / Book 1. He also comes with a bonus pair of stickers so you can use his torso to recreate Shining Hopper or Shining Assault Hopper, with his abs! Google translate made that a pain to figure out, but I think I got it.

I was in the middle of working on this when I saw the news lol what a coincidence. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go in with this repaint, but that definitely gave me some inspiration. Since I'll end up buying Hell Rising Hopper, I think I'll go for an Ark theme with this project.

I agree, I think that they removed the full box only because they intend to do 12 boxes for the rest of the year. There is some 01 figure to release, but apart of that it seems there will be a lot of "rider" this year !

AmiAmi's listing for Book 3 says it has 12 types (The word they use for different boxes), so my theory is they might be dropping duplicates altogether soon.

I hope they still do dupes where it makes sense, like troopbuilders

They're both pretty good to be honest. RKF's improved a good amount since Zi-O. More paint it seems like, and sometimes unique accessories. So-Do's definitely better, yeah, but RKF isn't trash like it was in 2018

Ginga just standing in the back is hilarious to me for some reason.

RKF actually feels flimsier in-hand to me, compared to SO-DO. I don't like the amount of soft plastic that they use, especially on the joints. I've seen way too many of these figures crack. After I've sealed the stickers on SO-DO figures, they so incredibly durable compared to RKF.

I really do miss RKF though, to be honest. If they kept releasing Legend Riders I would've kept collecting them. Remember when we had 2 figure releases a week? I was in love with RKF back then.

Some of the RKF are quite good. Geiz Revive in particular was able to transform with minimal parts swapping (just the middle part of his helmet).

They should've made the RKFs with layered transparent compound eyes, then I'd be interested!

Finished painting up 01's base forms, and i'm quite happy with how it came out. If I ever get my hands on a spare Ark One I might paint him up like Zero-One. Now, tomorrow AI11 comes out, and I want to get it with 10 from Amiami. I have 300, am saving for the PS5 with an unstable income. Do, I get it, or wait longer?

So I'm thinking about if/when we'll get SO-DO Faiz, Blade, Agito, and Kabuto . I feel like those might be the last ones we see because I feel like they're filled by the SHODO catalog, and even the typical thing of SO-DO doing basically everything doesn't really apply to those series as SHODO has done most the suits from those series,

Except, Kabuto and Faiz were super-early kits for Figure-Rise, and we're looking at an Agito in 2021 (or did I dream that tease?), so... man, no idea. Bandai! They live to frustrate prognosticators!

Actually, Ghost came at number 9 (while it’s no cool video game reference, it’s sti a lot better than throwing cards around at monsters) on a recent popularity poll for Heisei Riders, while Kiva and Wizard narrowly avoided coming in last place (which went to Hibiki)

Agito was announced for planning during Decade's FRS showcase and Ryuki's reveal.

A recent poll I saw actually put Ghost dead last which was pretty sad; though Gaim was also extremely low (3rd last) as well, and it’s getting sodos and a new movie thing. So who knows!


I’d also add on that not only has Shodo started those seasons, but very recently they’re working on completing them. Agito of course got that whole Awakening set, but now the most recent Shodo-O wave has Chalice, Garren, Riotrooper and G4; while other recent waves have had the likes of Delta. So they’re definitely still focusing on them rather than being a one-and-done that’s not as relevant anymore for Sodo to pick up.

I think the Gaim candy toy figures dan Ghost candy toy figures (both are released before So-Do) actually are quite good in my opinion.

Hmm....the biggest weakness from Ghost candy toy figures is the main Heroic Damashii is not complete so only Musashi, Edison, Goemon, Ryoma, Tutankhamun, Nobunaga, Houdini, Grimm and Sanzo are released in candy toy version.

But, surprisingly, the Drive Damashii and OOO Damashii are released in Ghost candy toy.
