I like Den O, but due to the actors changing and such just kinda bugged me. It's not the actors fault as I was searching as to why Hana's actress left, but it was like "Ehh..."
I'm on episode 27 of Den O, this is where I watch the movie right after right? |

singular point and replace Ryoutaro or have two Den-Os. I actually thought that Owner making some spare Den-O passes kinda made sense. The Imagin had already demonstrated that they could fight as their Den-O forms independantly as long as they had a solid body to do it with, so why not be prepared in case you ever needed to have a bunch of Den-Os fight? And Takeru Satoh was actually in two post series movies, Climax Deka (the Kiva "crossover") and Final Countdown (The one that introdouced New Den-O). |
Decade 15. That visual gag with the owner is really weird, and pointless. Especially with how understated it is.
The connection between Momo and Tsukasa if I knew well... anything about the guy. I apologise as I don't remember who said it, but a poster summed up as Decade as something like 'it's really fun until you look back and realise none of Decade makes any sense' and that is kinda exactly it. I was so distracted by the worlds, I didn't really pay attention to the most basic of questions like... well... what exactly is going on? I know that there is at some point in the timeline a huge war between Riders, I know each Rider show (at least nine of the Heisei ones) take place in their own universe, which results in monsters from one world becoming Riders in another (that concept sure was wasted, huh?) but what I've described to you is a blurb, not fifteen episodes worth of story, and as this show is practically half the length of your ordinary season it makes it even worse. Why are all of the worlds AUs? I know why they are for production reasons, but what is the in show reason? And despite the show showing off the Rider War like every damn episode, we have zero context for that, what's the dealio? While we're at it, what's the dealio with the Decade powers, DiEnd and whoever the dude in the rain mack is who basically has DiEnd's powers without a Driver? What the fuck is actually going on? We're half way through and I've not got a fucking clue. Speaking specifically for the episode, although I actually don't remember it being very well realised in the actual show, the use of memories as the core frame for time travel in Den-O is genius in its simplicity. For such an insanely convoluted sci-fi concept, it's so nice to see it presented to simply, and based more on sentiments than technology. It's the kind of time travel we all use in day to day life realised on the screen. Everything else was fantastic, Yusuke actually got to transform - even if it was more at his expense, rather than some fantastical moment. Killer Croc was a great addition to a pantheon of fantastic designs in the Imagin canon - and the way he was taken down was pretty sweet as well. Plus that gag at the expense of sentai giant stuff was brilliant. Shame Decade is the most boring thing in this show. Ultimately Den-O's world reminds me a lot of Kuuga's, it doesn't have some new twist or epic novelty like Kiva or Ryuki's worlds but what it does have is huge entertainment value and uses the source material lovingly. Probably the second best arc after Ryuki's honestly. |

Super-1 Episode 28: You know besides Kazuya magically appearing to save the day out of know where this was a really good episode, not that the first part was really an issue I'm probably sure he was looking out for scientists who were being Kidnapped. The Junior Rider Squad are really helpful for finding bad guys' hideouts. Staff Officer Witch's plan almost worked but it's interesting to see how four villains who hate each other work for the same organization. I will say I love Marshal Devil in this I think that's what the subs call him, the evil leader of Jin Dogma he looks awesome. I saw shades of X in this episode with Super-1 killing some of the soldiers with a whip like the Ridol. Super-1 kicked ass again, and the action is really awesome, sometimes hilarious, and sometimes downright brutal, I love it. He kicked ass with the Power Hands too. Though this monster was old I think he was a VCR or Video Camera using VHS lol it's just silly to see. Next is the Umbrella monster.
Super-1 Episode 29: Well Princess Yokai is definitely the one with the darkest plan so far. Controlling people with Umbrellas actually was a very good plan that caused a lot of destruction, I mean the Penguin from DC Comics needs umbrellas like these. This was the first episode the Junior Rider Squad really wasn't helpful I mean they tried but it didn't help. Kazuya had to repair himself after getting stabbed which doesn't happen often so it was nice to see. Great moments from Super-1 especially freeing everyone with his Electro Hands and getting the aerial knockout with his Rider Kick, that was a great finish. It was weird seeing the generals get along this episode I guess they are very competitive with each other. |
Kabuto Episode 11
You could put a leash on her. That will keep her from wandering off a whole lot. Awww he made her a princess before she died. Why he didn't try to get her medical help is belong me. But hey, at least she can die beautiful. Right? It looks like Tendou whipped her up a little breakfast feast. Well I suppose if you're going to give someone a big big breakfast, you have got to do it hardcore and make it a feast. Or at least that's what Tendou does. Yes Kagami. You gave up being the TheBee for that guy. Truth be told, probably not the best idea you've ever had. But life is about making mistakes. Live and learn Kagami. Live and learn. :lol I love how she's not just waiting for him, but waiting for him on a freaking duck. That's pretty funny to me. The big bad secret agent lady sitting on a duck in a park. :lol "A woman?" "No a man." "Fuck him then." I like this Daisuke guy. He be funny. What's with the shaky camerawork? And why is it flashing green? What the bloody hell show? Are you trying to make kids feel trippy? Because you're succeeding a little bit with an adult. Yeah I love this guy :lol "My individuality is too great." Tendou you mother fucker :lolol I get the feeling that if Tendou ever has a girlfriend, this will end up happening. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...19437133_n.jpg Kabuto stop it! You're going to make me die of laughter. I love how he has to have Gon finish his sentences for him. He's this suave smooth make up artist who can't finish his lines and needs a little girl to do so for him. That's just hilarious. Oh God...Tendou is either going to piss both of the girls off, or have both of them drooling over him. Either option is fine by me since this should lead to hijinks. Besides, I'd love to see what he's like out on a date. He's rich alright. Rich in ego that is. And it looks like he's got all over them swooning over him. Why am I not surprised? He's Tendou fucking Souji after all. Crash time. "You lost." :lolol Run girls! RUN! Holy shit all of them are Worms. This Worm sounds like a pig. Is it just me that is making that connection? That may be the weirdest henshin I have seen in this show so far. TheBee's made sense when you take in the fact that he used a wrist transformation device. But Drake's transformation device is a stick that turns into a gun? That's a little odd to me. I do like this Masked Form though. Not as good as TheBee's but still better then Kabuto's. Well there goes another episode. Does it fall into place to make this three episodes in a row that are perfect? Unfortunately no, but this episode isn't too shabby if I say so myself. The story aspects weren't too bad, though the story wasn't fully there. Being that the episode was introducing a new rider, a lot of the focus went to that. I honestly didn't see the story kicking in till Kagami and Tendou met up at Tendou's house and talked about the group date. Everything after that was just sort of there. However it does go without saying that due to having to introduce a new rider, there was stuff added to the main plot of the show. So while the story elements didn't really pop up towards the end, they weren't all that bad (I do wish they would've searched anybody and everybody on the boat to see who the Worm is). Character development (like it should be in this case) was the star of the episode. It pretty much had to since the episode introduced two new characters. And the episode did so pretty darn well. It introduced Daisuke and made clear what his character is: a traveling makeup artist who will do anything to help a lady in need. It also did a nice job of setting up Gon's character, she being his fairly (in my opinion) sassy/no nonsense assistant. Both were represented and shown very fair and had enough screen time to let you know who they are, what they're like, and what they do. This does mean that the rest of the cast didn't get a whole lot in terms of development, but I can forgive that since the show had to introduce two new characters. Overall the character development was strong in this episode. Unfortunately the action seems to have dipped down in quality for a third time. All of the action on display was really short and not that enthralling to be honest. It wasn't outright terrible like some action I've seen (coughcoughagitocoughcough), but compared to what the show has shown so far it isn't all that great. Not bad but it could have been better. So in the end episode 11 wasn't that bad of an episode. It's only brought down to me at least by the lack of really good action. While the story elements don't really kick in till the later half of the episode, they're done well enough to not be bad. And as I said previously, the character development aspects were pretty damn nice. The episode was certainly entertaining for all of the comedic moments. Overall not a bad episode, just lacking in a few things. |
Decade 16.
http://i.imgur.com/P9fnUWw.jpg http://i.imgur.com/z1f7OgA.jpg Sorry, I thought I had downloaded a subbed episode, my fault. I got through most of this episode without actually writing anything, it jumped around so much while smashing together so much stuff it just felt like a vaguely thematically related set of skits, each of which is trying way too hard. The individual Kabuto Riders were really the only highlight, the use of Clock Up was just wonderful. Plus Kabuto was a show with great designs, and it's nice to get to enjoy them without having to watch the actual show. Just like with Kuuga. |
Quote:
And Kabuto is one of the AU Riders (Along with Kuuga) that I find to be exponentially more likeable than his original counterpart. And considering he's barely in his first episode, I think that says a lot about my opinion on Tendo Souji. |
Agito Episode 11
:lolol The silent "Welcome back" from Shouichi Well of course you're not qualified to be G3. You abandoned the fight just after taking a few hits as well as being scared shitless that the enemy force which has been had to beat is proving itself hard to beat. As Ozawa said, the suit still had battery power left. You may have been able to beat the Unknown or hurt it enough to where it would retreat. But instead you decided that getting slapped around a little means you should just run away with your tail between your legs. You may have provided the best G3 action scene in the show so far, but damn Houjou, you're just a little pussy who bitched and moaned to get the spot you wanted, and then ditched it the minute it was hard. Now that it's looking like you'll have that spot revoked, you have to (what I assume) blackmail your superiors to possibly keep it. Fuck you, you're a pussy, give G3 back to Hikawa. He's a man. Did Mana skip school again to visit Hikawa? Or is this taking place after the school day? And why does she keep coming here? She have a crush on Hikawa or something? So her powers don;t always work? Huh. I wonder what makes them kick in? Are we ever going to be told what the Akatsuki Incident actually is? Something tells me that we will, but it'll be right towards the end of the show. Which if that's the case, I suppose it makes sense. But it would still be nice to know something about it now. I'd look it up, but I won't for fear of spoiling the show. So I guess I'll just have to be patient. Well...wow. I must say that the Unknown really aren't that good at hiding the corpses. That is, unless they won't them to be seen. Houjou's eyes look like they're fucking filled to the brim with insanity. When he's mad, crazy eyes. When he's happy, crazy eyes. This guy has to be crazy if his eyes are always like that. Oh and by the way, stop be a lying ass. You ran away like a little bitch in the middle of a fight. You have no right to be building yourself up anymore. Spoiler alert Konno: they would probably kill each other if locked in a room with some sort of a weapon. Taiichi it's not polite to slurp so loudly. Also Shouichi "clean behind the ceiling?" The hell does that mean? Do you mean a ceiling fan or the actual ceiling? I like the Professor. He's a really nice guy with a good head on his soldiers. I'd love to have him as a teacher, family member, or host. Dude is just all around pleasant and cool. Well isn't she a ray of sunshine. Hot damn this house is big and good looking. I want a house like that. But I doubt it will ever happen. Oh well. I can at least ogle it. He's going to break it isn't he? Dammit Shouichi I can see you dropping it from a mile away. Please prove me wrong. Please please please prove me wrong. I don't think I've ever brought it up, but I quite love the Agito symbol. I guess seeing it here made me realize I haven't stated that yet. Now I have. That is all. Is that suppose to be a combination of a horse and a pig? Houjou may be an assclown, but he has a point. Even though there is no assigned user right now, an Unknown is on the loose (how are they tracking the attacks by the way?) and they need to deal with it, Ozawa regardless of her feelings towards Houjou needs to deploy to save the woman's life, and possibly Hikawa's. I know he (Houjou) is just using this as an opportunity to just show up Hikawa and any other possible candidates for G3, but this is a situation where he's all they got and they best be using him. Quick! Use the Evil Dead attachment! Well, at least he actually put up a fight this time and didn't run away. Still want Hikawa back as G3 though. Liar liar pants on fire. Why are these horse, pig things purring? Well episode 11 has gone by. What did I think of it? Meh. I'll start off as per usual with the story. I think the story was actually the best part of the episode to be quite honest. The whole hunt for information with both Ryou and Shouichi was a nice little storyline and I thought it handled it quite well. It is a little sad that nothing new came out about Ryou's father or Shouichi's past, but the woman appears to know something going off of how she answered the one question. Hopefully the next episode continues this little story. Nothing was really added to the main plot however from it, and nor did the Houjou fighting to keep being G3 plot do so. So while nothing really got added to the main story, the story within the episode wasn't all that bad. As far as character development goes, I'd say Houjou got some. Most of it though just showed what a spineless little fuck he is, but it still developed him. He's a man who knows what he wants and will do anything it takes to achieve it/keep it. I know at the end he just wanted to be G3 again and said what he said to Ozawa to let him do so, but I think there was a bit of genuinely there of him wanting to go out and help people. He was doing it for the wrong reason, but deep down I think he knew he had to go out to save that person. He's really the only one that I saw develop though, except maybe for Kanno in the idea that we saw a bit of him more, and on his own for that matter. There wasn't a whole lot of development in the episode, but what was provided wasn't all that bad. Action, action, action. You continue to leave me unimpressed. You have a good setup with the fight being at night. I really love night fights, they look cool a good chunk of the time. But they are not cool when there's so much fog that it's a little hard to see what's going on at times. That aside the action was it's usually thing. Nothing really spectacular. It holds your interest and entertains you, but not a whole lot (to me at least). So yeah, as per usual the action wasn't that great in my opinion. Episode 11 is just another average episode to me. It had a good story which I hope gets continued, the character development present wasn't too bad though nothing special, and the action was it's usual self. Was it entertaining? It was, especially with the opening bit at Mana's house. But that's the only real entertaining scene to me. Everything else was just there. It's execution ranged from good to decent, but it didn't grab me and make me enthralled with what was happening. Another meh episode, I'm not really surprised. |
Ok so for Hibiki... Is it just best to watch up to episode 30? And call it quits right after then? I just ready some info up on the Wiki about Hibiki, and it really does look like Hibiki took a huge slap in the face with the different production staff.

Which is a shame, because that scene was hilarious. |

It's worth finishing it if only because there are some pretty good episodes in the second half, the Shuki stuff and a cool arc with Todoroki and Zanki. The ending though, if you pay attention, is a huge let down because it's basically a rehash of a speech two characters had earlier on in the show.

I don't mind TV nihon subs. I think a lot of the clunky dialogue and untranslated stuff from their earlier subs. I haven't run into a lot of these problems that people are pissed about. I don't mind Overtime/aeser either.

Decade 17. Wow Ixa sure is on the nose, huh?
Overall this was another arc that really suffered for being so damn short, way too much was happening for a two episode arc, telegraphed with twists you could see for about ten miles away. As a result I didn't care for any of it by the end. The worst part is though, I don't understand the message of this arc at all. When your Little Sister is replaced by a monster who usually mindlessly simply kill and destroy...that is okay? Not only is that stupid, it makes even less sense in the context of the arc. Which is a shame, as lots of the individual parts are great. Tsukasa has really shined in the last couple of arcs, and as much as he's very shounen protagonist he is so badass that it almost feels okay. Kabuto is basically a sports car in Rider form, complete with a beautiful red finish. And The Bee has that ridiculous eyepatch, boxing style fighting in Rider form and some GLORIOUS scenery chewing. Kabuto world was overly sentimental in the worst possible way, rushed to the point of incoherent and completely unengaging emotionally. Like a lot of worlds, it has heaps of wasted potential but unlike most worlds it wasn't ever really about anything. Overall Kabuto's arc was one of the worst, not quite Faiz bad, but it's pretty hard to pick what worse worse between this and Agito. I guess this had some great fights, and Tsukasa moments, Agito didn't even have that... Since we're about to go to the final world, here are the worlds for me in order from worst to best. Faiz. Agito. Kabuto. Blade. Kuuga. Den-O. Kiva. Ryuki. |

I think the message wa supposed to be that family is important and can give you the strength to endure things you otherwise couldn't, such as being stuck in permanent clock-up. |

Not only is it alienating to non fans which kinda goes against everything Decade stood for up until this point, but without being armed by the Kabuto experience the arc comes across as twisted as it does downright dumb.

Watched the Wizard movie and yeah, I can kinda see why no one was in a hurry to sub this. It was pretty darn sucky.
The start is so abrupt it makes you feel like you've missed about 15-30 minutes of set up, it then takes about half an hour to go anywhere (although it did have fun with its concept, which I appreciated) and then the second half is so rushed I failed to care about any of the characters in it. Also, gotta love how Koyomi's actress was too busy for the show but had plenty of time to be a main character in the movie :rolleyes One thing I will say about it though is that it certainly lives up to Wizard's flashiness. The fight scenes were great looking, and the Sorcerer suit was beautiful if horribly underused. |
I just finished Den-O Episode Yellow, and it was amazing. Now I want to watch the show, too.
|
Well I watched OOO episodes 1-6 and my were they something. This show looks to be promising and I'm sort of excited to see were this goes, and in 7 the all Yellow combo comes to screen.

All I have to say is thank god for KRDL for all these eps I'm downloading of both KR and SS haha! Currently starting both Ryuki and Faiz.

Ryuki gets a lot more dark and insane and awesome come some of the later arcs so I recommend you keep with it. |
Quote:
Just wondering though...does Hibiki really change THAT much after the staff changes? I had contemplated watching that before I made my decision with Ryuki/Faiz then the follow-up with Blade. |
Quote:
In order to explain Hibiki's change, I have to go into the history of both the writer who took over the last half of the show, Toishiki Inoue and Hibiki itself. Hibiki was envisioned as a very unique series and it shows in its first half. It focuses a lot on interpersonal problems. Inoue uses a very particular set of tropes and elements in a lot of the series he heads. In fact, Faiz, the one you are watching right now, will feature a lot of tropes that appear in Hibiki's second half. So if you don't like Faiz's tropes you're not going to like Hibiki's second half. Because Hibiki pretty much changes over to Inoue's style over its distinct and unique way of storytelling when the shift happens. |
Just finished up the Wizard net movies, which were just as good as I hoped they'd be. The Kamen Deka and Sora/Misa ones were superb, the Koyomi ones were a lot of fun (her actress is a great laugh, I wish her character was this much fun in the actual show) and the Shunpei ones were...Shunpei ones :lol

Decade 18.
What the hell is Natsumi wearing? I mean Jesus girl I'm not complaining but wearing nothing but underwear and a shirt and leaving most of the buttons undone is an...interesting style choice. God this episode was infuriating, DOU SHISHISHI SHOU ONGEKI DOKI RYUUU ZANNKI PATATATATOBATATOBATATOBATOTOBA ZYRUUUUN. I seriously didn't understand what they were actually talking about for about ninety percent of this episode. Three schools, three scrolls? And a whole lot of Japanese words which mean nothing to me, an English speaker. If nothing else, this show makes me fall in love with powers from shows I've either never seen or simply don't like. I came out from this really wanting one of those redone Kabuto's and wanting to watch a bunch more Hibiki - although wow Hibiki has some naff looking monsters. Kaito's touching little sequence with the Oni in training made me realise how shit a character Kaito is. Like why is he...here? He was in the background for pretty much the entire of his own introduction arc and since then he's had vague motivations and an even vaguer moral compass and just sorta swags in and out at random points in the episodes, never achieving anything. I dunno why they didn't just cut him out and use Kuuga more. Also how do his powers even work? I didn't realise he summoned the ACTUAL Riders, why would Momo even fight for Kaito? I thought he and Tsukasa were friends. |
Decade 19. The taking down of that crab thing was gloriously silly.
I don't really know anything about Hibiki, so I found the rushed nature of this arc perhaps more frustrating than any other because learning about this show - even through an AU - was something I was super excited for. From the rival schools, to monster trumpet players to the classic Rider story of becoming the enemy to defeat the enemy this could have easily made a great show. As a two act arc though, it left a lot to be desired. |
Decade 20. I dunno what the fuck is even going on any more but it's fucking AWESOME.
