It's like how some refer to their fathers as Otasan too.

What they want from me, is a prototype for a new weapon I have been working on.
The monster of the week would actually be like a Chimera creature, only bipedal.
The Super Sentai that saves me would be Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, because Marvelous would be acting (of course) like he wants the weapon for them, but actually to use it to defeat the tripartate abomination.

Hey, this might have been brought up before but, I've tried search and come up zetto so I'm asking - forgive me if it's been asked b4.

Okay, I'm not too crazy for Super Sentai mostly because it's too formulaic for me and generally (from what I've seen) aimed at younger audiences. I'm a Kamen Rider guy primarily and into Metal Hero (true, MH is formulaic as all hell - but those suits, tho). Also, I have major difficulty telling one from another! So my question is this:

Is there a SS series that skews toward more complex, less 'kiddie' storylines? It doesn't have to be 'dark', just way less predictable with some twists and interesting concepts.

I understand that I may be missing the point / charm of SS (been watching AkibaRanger - love it - which seems to be saying this), that's fine, just let me know!

From personal experience Flashman, Maskman, Liveman, Jetman, Timeranger, Shinkenger, Go-Busters, ToQger.

Maskman, Liveman, Jetman, Dairanger, and Timeranger are the primary candidates. Honestly just about anything from the 80s could fit the bill.

Gekiranger

Check out Jetman and Dairanger. They have as much depth and complexity as any Kamen Rider show I've seen.

I hear good things about Timeranger and Gekiranger with regard to seriousness, but I've yet to watch those.
