I've currently begun to download Go-Onger (Having deleted the previous files I had to accommodate Boukenger). I'm gonna watch Go-On, and maybe that'll give me the incentive to watch Bouken...

Good man. Go-Onger is a great show, and I can confidently say my good things to say about it extend beyond the toys. :D

Thanks for the heads up with GUIS on Zyu. While it was nice and easy that they had a full series batch, I hate that it was only available in MKVs. MKV subtitles are so thin and blend into the backgrounds on my tv whereas MP4 subtitles are nice and thick and are easy to read. Oh well, either way, it is nice to have the full series subbed and hopefully the quality will be just as good as my DVDs.

Go-on's pretty wacky and won't be for everyone, but I definitely enjoyed it a lot. It was a very fun watch.

Go-Onger had a great ranger cast, but the stories got really childish and the mecha were awful. The villains started out good, but then they just became redundant.

You all are scaring me away from Go-On :lol

Only way to know is to watch it for yourself. Watch the first 10 or so episodes and if it isn't grasping you, stop.

Don't be afraid yet! It's a really weird series, but it might be enjoyable to you. It was a lot of fun to me and it has one of my favorite Ranger casts ever.

Actually I'd suggest watching at least until the Go-on Wings appear. They're different from the Go-ongers (read: very cool) and they introduce new dynamics into the show's relationships.

Don't be scared of Go-Onger at all. Great show, cool innovative costumes, great mecha with awesomely ridiculous combos. It's a winner for sure.

Go-Onger is a show I will likely just skip. Nothing about it sounds appealing to me.

Up to episode 36 of Zyuranger. I love these location episodes that older tokusatsu used to have. It's really cool to see a different part of Japan than Toei's normal filming locations. I find it kind of hilarious that an ancient treasure map uses a seemingly modern pop art sculpture as a reference point, though.

This episode is what gave Power Rangers the idea to got to Australia for a 3 parter. Crew wantewd a trip :p

Not quite. They were in Australia filming the movie when they filmed the Zedd/Rita marriage and Green Ranger vs White Ranger episodes. Oh, Tony Oliver's story about their experience in Australia is hysterical.

Just watched the first and second episode of Gekiranger. I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, although the knuckle crack and Blue's "I made it!" Could get annoying quick. But that's just me being petty =p

The knuckle thing sticks around, but it's not as prominent later on (Either that or you get so used to it you don't notice it).
Retsu's "I made it" pretty much disappears eventually.

As I said, they're just minor complaints. But it's good to hear all the same =]

Retsu might be my favorite Blue by virtue of not being as bland as other blues.
And he's bland as hell :lol

And listing design is fine. It's when every highlight is "The suits are cool, the monsters look awesome, and the mecha looks super sweet!" is when I start to get hesitant.

GekiRanger is amazing because it is the first series in about 10 years from when it aired the fully developed their villains just as much as the rangers.

On my watch list now I have Gekiranger and Goseiger, aka Matrixbeast vs Sentai. :lol I'll see what they come up with for Let's Watch Wednesdays first.

Now that I think of it, Blue is almost always a bland character! Renn was an okay character but his cheery smile sometimes creeped me out. It's like he almost never not smiles.

I'd want it to be Geki, but Den-O is a stick in the mud and didn't like it, so probably not :I

And from my experience, Retsu, Hyde, Joe, Souta...Yeah. Blue gets tacked with the least interesting characters all the time.

If they were Scottish that wouldn't happen :p

Watch Dairanger. Shouji is one of the more dynamic and memorable characters on that show. Blandness went yellow that season.

50 years after the characters defeated the Gouma, the characters were old and withered, and the Gouma returned. Their grandkids, who were played by the same actors, assumed the roll of the Dairangers, and continued the fight against the Gouma, because Kiryoku(good martial arts) cannot exist without Yoryoku(bad martial arts), and the fight continues on into eternity.

Basically, nothing that happened in the actual series mattered.

Eh, I hate it when shows go too far in trying to make a point. It's not funny, writers! That does sound awful.

Perhaps to fix that they should take Kreia's solution in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II where she wanted to destroy the Force forever. Similarly, they could destroy martial arts forever.

I wasn't as upset with that as much as I was the 50 years later(except for Shadam being a doll, that just sucked).

YES! I thought that as soon as I saw the actual ending, might even give some of those guys development.

The worst part is that all of this is the last 15 mins of the show. There's no build up, there's not epic final battle, all of the mechas are wasted (Especially Serpentera). Just this lame plot twist pulled out of the ass of a donkey.

I've watched that show twice and never actually noticed the similarities between Dairanger and Star Wars until now. You've taken an awful ending and made it somehow more awful for me :lol
