as i expected, Hibiki is the lowest, but hey... what do you expect from a series that change the writer in the middle of the series
|
The bottom 3 are definitely to be expected; they’re consistently unpopular picks. Agito sadly makes sense too as it’s that series no-one ever seems to have an issue with but is very rarely anyone’s number 1 favourite (like what this poll is guaging). Fourze and Drive are pretty surprising though...
|
That's an interesting poll. I'm really hoping we get ghost soonish because the ghost gan-gan action series is kind of a pain to find and has weird arm engineering (it' the reverse of the so-do arms with upward arm joint on the inside of the chest)
Edit: Also just we've seen just massive engineer and design leaps for candy toys since then. |
Ghost Sodo would be awesome but it’s one of those things where like... there’s so many forms to do. I think they would just throw their hands up and not do separate bodies for Toucon Boost or stuff like Specter Edison, but even so that’s 13 parkas outside of Necrom’s exclusive stuff! And that’s before the upgrades, the bikes, the hbv and movie stuff... this is where they really started to pile on the forms. At least Gaim’s many suits are largely different characters and Drive’s are more or less accessory packs, but Ghost onwards is hard to conceive of as getting anywhere close to completion.

Hey, I know this isn't rider again but, anybody have the Shodo Pokemon? And if you do, some thoughts and pictures would be welcome!

I mean, I've heard of PokéPla, but not Shodo Pokémon. https://ic.pics.livejournal.com/flag...8_original.jpg |
Shodo Pokemon (on the 3rd or 4th wave)
Shodo Digimon (3 waves announced so far) Shodo Dragon Ball Z/Super (the first Shodo line, though it seems to be retired now) Shodo Infini-T Force. Yeah, that was a thing they did once. Also Shodo Ultraman, but that was retitled Chodo a while back. I don't own any of the Pokemon, but I believe they're a little smaller than you might think. I'll be getting Digimon for sure and have some Dragon Ball. Scale's a little all over the place once you leave the Rider and Ultraman lines. |

1000 yen per set is an awesome price, but I imagine shipping and tax is gonna be a nightmare on this |

A new tiny man arrived today! From a show I haven’t watched yet!
https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1a.jpg My box of Saber Book 1 showed up today, and I thought I’d post a little bit about the SO-DO body that’s being used. I mean, that’s pretty much the whole reason I bought this set, since I’m a year or two away from watching Saber. I may end up loving the series and decide to grab everything else down the line, but after getting all of Zero-One without actually watching any of Zero-One… I think I’m okay with just getting the main two Riders from Saber, sample the body design, and leave the rest for a possible future. https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1b.jpg But here he is! Kamen Rider Saber! It’s a super-easy bit of stickering to get him finished, since so much of the suit is already painted. I mean, look at the body that comes in the second box: https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1c.jpg You’re only stickering the driver, both left hands, and both feet. The other box is stickers for the sword, the right hands, four stickers for the right arm, and four stickers for the helmet. (The blade in the helmet is detachable, which is both necessary for applying the stickers to it and also just sort-of neat. I don’t know if it detaches on the show, but I liked that it did on the figure.) Way more of this thing is painted than I’ve ever seen outside of Chronicle sets, and maybe even more than that. This feels like a premium figure at a retail price. https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1d.jpg https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1e.jpg https://challengerscomics.com/images...abersodo1f.jpg Here’s the finished Saber. The new torso design… there are some Pros and Cons. The big Pro is that he has a great new range of motion. His arms can flex in and out in very natural-looking ways. There’s a lot more dynamism to his posing, which is very fun. The two big Cons are the ways the stickering on the sword and dragon pauldron limit those posing options. Basically, with the sword only being stickered on one side, you can’t really have the sword displayed too many different ways. He can’t swing it backwards, or turn it at too much of an angle. If it’s anything other than dead-on, it’s going to look not so good. The dragon pauldron doesn’t help that arm, since it’s tightness to the body (and Saber’s collar on that side) means that the more extreme angles the new torso design offers will cause that pauldron to pop right off. Not all the time, but often enough to be annoying. But! He’s a great figure for the price. I’m not a huge fan of the suit’s aesthetic (I think that helmet is pretty bad), but it’s a hell of a figure for retail SO-DO. Some huge advances in paint work, and pretty much all the articulation you could ask for in a cheap candy toy. Definitely worth checking out, even if you don’t plan on collecting the line. |

Saber is a design that has grown on me quite a bit since the original reveal. I love the half dress and dragon pauldron, the colors work great, and the head is pretty alright. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0917190222.png Also according to the SODO posts you're suppose to move the dragon shoulder down a bit. |

Okay so I stumbled across a translation of the latest candy toy blog post from the SODO designer, and it included this part about how to best use the right arm of Dragon Senki Saber.

The thing is, that's not really the problem I'm finding with the dragon head. It's more that the ears/horns/whatevers at the top clip against the collar, causing enough force to pop the pauldron off. (It literally just did it as I was trying to pull the arm out slightly, as a test.) It's not that it catches at the mouth, it's that it collides at the horns. |

Also I was just looking at the SODO Saber design premiere blog post, and I only just realized they got rid of the peg on the back of the head! |

If that somehow became canon Blades would become my new favorite Rider instantly.

A little more Zero-One holdover this time, as we have Kamen Rider Naki. They come with claws, but sadly not underwear for your Thouser. https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0925200851.png Here they are with the other members of MBJR.net https://cdn-ak.f.st-hatena.com/image...0925170611.jpg |
Sorry to interrupt reveal night, but I found some lots of sodo stands for real cheap, would anyone want me to grab them?

NAKI IS FINALLY HERE HELL YES!!! They look so good too! This is the first Sodo I’ve really truly wanted in a while...
In addition to the claws they also come with an unholstered Shotriser with the Assault Wolf key loaded. Obviously intended for Assault Wolf Vulcan shooting peeps, but the Sodo folks figure “hey, we included it with Naki, here’s a shot of them using it too” |

on Zenmarket, do I need to add funds before bidding? I'd rather not commit 10000 yen to that account without actually getting the lot
Edit: nvm, fuck that's stupid |
So let’s see; Saber SODO has now covered Naki, Fighting Jackal and the movie forms...
So for Zero-One that realistically just leaves any future forms like v-cin stuff, right? Naki more or less completes Zero-One thus far |
I didn’t intend to use this picture twice but - they’re making it very easy for the SO-DO guys to deliver a screen-accurate weapon for Buster ;)
