It appears the cast leak was correct.

So, with confirmation that the cast leak was correct, and with how out of focus Dapan was despite being Tycoon's sister, I feel even more convinced that Dapan will end up being an early death, or otherwise taken out of the game relatively early on. Like, at least around Christmastime.

Either that or the Riders we see for the latter ones, of Dapan, Ginpen and Merry are placeholder dudes and their main cast members are coming after these no names die.

Geats Press Conference

In the group shot of them all together in their Entry Forms Dapan and Merry actually look more masculine to me (especially next to Naago). I could be totally off-base but that could be because they're not initially female.

Also I know people are worried about Ginpen and Merry not being around long but also...

We've already seen two Dapan's in the trailer, their helmets being slightly different from each other and we know that only the eyes really change for forms, not the design of the helmet.

Not to mention well, they could easily have P-Bandai ID Cores and Buckles for those two lined up. We just got through with a Rider where 80% of Riders fell onto the P-Bandai side of the spectrum, especially early on. It would not surprise me if they did that for Geats.

pleased with what I see so far.

Some thoughts :

- Aoshima Kokoro is perfect as the "poppiesque" game navigator. It fits her acting and personality. I didn't expect her to be presented alongside the 4 main riders and be showcased that much. hope she is a big regular.
And oh God that shot in the trailer where she sits next to Neon in a Cat cafe and a cat is licking her lollipop xD

- Keiwa/Tycoon really feels like a Kagami (Kabuto) character. He almost feels like the main protag of the show

- Buffa looks fierce as expected, but not particularly evil. Just the standard edgy guy.

- Ace definitely has tendou vibes, but not as extreme as him. he just looks very confident as a person.

- There is a shot in the trailer where you see the 7 participants back, facing Tsumuri. Merry and Dapan don't match with the rumored cast, but like some other people said, they might be non important dudes waiting to be replaced (all of them look like men except Neon)

- Merry helmet is... fluffy ? xD

- There is a shot in the trailer where buffa is dressed with a big collar (Desire Grand Prix uniform ?) with a different guy, and the shot appears just after we see Ginpen and Buffa entry form. maybe the guy is Ginpen for now.


So far I like everything I see, except maybe for the fact that riders aren't really antagonising each other yet.

I actually saw more Kiriya Sento in him. Tendou, from my recollection, smiled much less often and less optimistically.

The new driver looks like zio and accel from double combine.

*Sento Kiryu/Kiryu Sento but yeah I feel the same? perhaps it?s the confident and ready but not too overconfident kind of thing. Tendou has the confident because I?m born for this (the chosen one) kind of feel whereas Sento has the I?m ready and confident enough but I wasn?t necessarily born for this

I kept forgetting about this since I was so busy.

Overall, I like what I see.
Some things I took from this:

-I like Ace Ukiyo. He's got a Tsukasa/Sento air about him that I'm honestly happy to see again.

-I said it before, I'll say it again, I love the Belt's voice.

-The Gamemaster did the Kamen Rider Ichigo pose. I'm satisfied. Probably going to end up like George, though.

-I don't like the sheep and the panda (though to be fair, I don't mind him that much). Maybe they'll work better with actual forms instead of the Entry Forms, but they just look silly. Geats and Buffa are my favorite Riders at the moment.

-I love Just Live More and Guess Who is Back, so this might be a good one. Though, I think I know exactly what this opening is going to be like.

Hopefully this one will be more consistent than the previous Reiwa Riders, though I'm not going to get my hopes up. But so far, this could be interesting, despite me not being into the Battle Royale (also Fortnight) angle.

I'm kind of curious how long they'll build up to each Rider getting their "complete" form, and if all of them will get them.

Oh... oh thats clever. Now I'm curious as to how many repaints/records we'll be getting.

Was not expecting the ID Cores to be cylindrical, from all the promotional stuff I thought they were coin/medal shaped.

edit: Also, I love how one of the differentiators between the Panda and White Bear (Polar bear?) ID Cores is that one of them looks slightly pissed off, that's hilarious.

Just for what it's worth "shiro kuma" is typically used to refer to polar bears in Japan iirc

Glad to see a magazine showing off the panda ID Core after the rumours saying no toy for it had been seen at all, hopefully this means we're getting a DX toy then... but I guess this could just be showing off the props lol

And so Geats will definitely have three male riders (Geats, Tycoon and Buffa) and most likely will have three female riders (Naago, Merry and Dapan). And we don't know anything about Ginpen. Is there any possibility that, given Takahashi's previous experience in Zero-One, Ginpen will be made a character like Naki?

I'm starting to think only half the rumors were true about who is merry, dapan and all.

It looks to me that the rumor were right about the actors, but not necessary about the roles.
Aoshima Kokoro being Tsumuri and Shida Nene being Sakurai's sister were right, most likely because they'll directly appear in Ep1. But I'm doubting about them being Merry and Dapan, it feels like leakers were trying to fill in the blanks about Rider's identity (hope I'm wrong, I'd like Tsumuri to be Merry).

For now, the trailer shows 6 men and 1 woman as the 7 participants.

Also, for me Ginpen is the guy with a goatee we see at 1:58 in the trailer, at least for now (pic attached). He wears the same uniform DGP participants are wearing and this appears just after a Ginpen and Buffa shot.

I read rumors that many of the initial riders will die almost in the first episode and then they will be replaced by those same girls. This is also indicated by the little attention paid to these riders and their actors (well, at least their names could be added to the cast announcement), and outwardly they do not seem like someone who will linger for a long time or receive much attention. I could also cite Merry's pink and fluffy helmet as an example, but given that the Donbrothers have brought that a man can be a pink ranger, perhaps this is not an argument.
But, of course, we will only know how it will actually be by looking.

I'm wondering now if the cast leak mis-attributed Tsumuri and Tycoon's sisters as Riders just because they're part of the main cast. It doesn't seem like Tsumuri is set up as a Rider given her role in the game.

I can imagine that they will repeat the situation with Sophia from Saber, in the style of: "To save the world, we need the strength of all riders." Or even the situation with Hiromi from Revice: she wasn't supposed to be a rider, but the fans wanted to, so why not tweak the script a bit? But, given that at some point it will inevitably become clear that the organizers of the game are villains, Tsumuri may also turn out to be a kaijin.

I'm kind of curious about the Jamato. Seems like they're samurai mooks, but I wonder about the more major ones.

Which is kind of a nice change actually. So far except the Jamato, you don't know who is evil.
Like, when was the last time we didn't know big bad names or generals from the start ? Ghost ? (Jabel came quick but at the start it was just Saionji and Alain).
Bu it does feel more like a Gaim situation tbh.

Girori and Tsumuri are names that ring enemy-ish but that's as far as it goes.

Seems like these grunt types might evolve into the stronger monster of the week forms. Which makes sense, Toei's embraced modular enemy designs in terms of creating new monsters.

It also highlights the franchise's typical similarities between riders and their enemies. Just as the riders in "Geats" become stronger by wearing different pieces of armor, so the monsters gain strength by putting on a new skin over their former essence.

I'm kind of curious how sentient they are. Especially because I assume they're "programmed" to service the Grand Prix.

Only thing missing in the villain side are generals. Who're the generals!? Hope there's a female one too!

I kinda hope there are no generals, actually. I feel like the show doesn't need them.

I don't think the concept of a chaotic battle royale where it's every man for himself is enough for 40+ episodes. I think the main villain and the generals will be in one form or another. Another thing is that they can be both kaijins and riders.

I mean, yeah, but I don't want them in the first arc. I feel a pull back the curtain moment for the fact the company is actually evil works well as the Christmas shakeup and till then, we don't really need monster generals, especially with such a huge cast.

Perhaps the Raise Buckles have to come from the monsters to be as specialized as Zombie, Magnum, or Boost

I think it's probably pretty likely whoever is running the Grand Prix is also behind the Jamato, I guess the question is how long it turns from the Riders playing the game to directly trying to take care of the problem.

I think around Christmas is a good bet for when the story starts to focus less on the Desire Grand Prix and introduces an antagonistic force for our main Riders to fight against.

Given the theme and style of Geats, I thought that this show would good work with the same bikes for all riders, like in OOO. Maybe with different stickers and the possibility of modification by more successful players. But given that the motorcycle has ceased to be an important element of the franchise, I think Toei did the right thing not to bother with it.
