Well I watched Kabuto 31-33 and Hiyori, Tendou, Hyper Kabuto then Kick Hopper have me all confused and I love it.
|
All the Hibiki talk almost makes me want to do a rewatch. Show was so damned good, even when it wasn't as good.
And yeah, I can understand why some people don't care for the way the story doesn't really begin or end, at least where the riders are concerned, but I really didn't mind that, you just gotta keep the right mindset about that to appreciate it a bit more. It's one reason I've taken to making sure people that want to jump in know that the story isn't about the riders vs the makamou, and to not expect that particular conflict to be something that gets your typical beginning, middle and end, that the actual story is about the characters and Asumu coming of age and blah blah, I've said this already lol. I'd also like to point that it's another reason I love "Shonen Yo" as a theme for the series, beyond being a beautiful song, it really does kinda serve as an example of what the show is really about. Been watching a bit more Faiz, up to episode 14 or 15 now, finally had Kaixa properly make a showing. Again I just love the Orphenocs as villains, they're so interesting, so well written, it's like having a second main cast of characters, characters I actually feel for, and feel invested in. It's a nice change of pace. Kaixa is pretty cool too, definitely interested to see more of just what exactly his story is though. Oh and Justi-faiz has really grown on me as a theme song. I can't recall if I was particularly fond of it when I first started watching, and while it's no "Alive a Life" or "Shonen Yo", it's a solid theme. Edit: Just finished episode 15 of Faiz. Wow, that was something. The things the episode brings up and the impact those things have had and will have are pretty big I think, I hope. It adds some really good drama, it makes this web even more tangled and twisted and I am loving it. |
Well, Pikamaster11 is going to start releasing the series subbed using DVD rips, so wait for him.

The Last Movie I am watching for now:
Decade/All Riders vs Dai-Shocker: I absolutely loved learning Tsukasa's background and finding out about him having a sister, his parents, and apparently being King of Dai-Shocker, crazy but still kind of makes sense. Also great to learn that Daiki stole the DiEnd Driver from Dai-Shocker too lol. Gackt as Riderman (even though he didn't have a suit) was brilliant, that was one of my favorite parts of the movie, the only part I wished would have happened was seeing him kick the crap out of all those members of Dai-Shocker, and get a modernized Riderman suit. Funny after seeing Fourze's first appearance, I got to see W's first appearance which was quite awesome, I need to go watch OOO's first appearance soon. Tsukasa was just so awesome in this movie. The Rider Tournament was totally awesome, I love seeing Black RX, Super-1, X, Amazon, and the others and all their fights in this. I think Black, Super-1, and V3 would have kicked the crap out of Decade by himself but you know it is a Decade movie lol. I wanted more of a fight out of J vs King Dark! Some day who knows, so question So was that some sort of Merged J-Cade at the end? Because J kind of transformed into Decade, and Decade was the belt, so I'm just going to refer to that form as J-Cade, especially if I play that form in the new game. I wish Shouichi had more than just a small Cameo same with Kotaro, but it's great that they came back even for such a small part. This movie did help me prepare for my next series, as I continue in chronological order after Super-1 with a Rewatch of ZX, then to Kamen Rider I put off for over a year, Kamen Rider Black! |
Just finished episode 20 of Faiz.
The almost friendship between the heroes and the orphenocs is a dynamic I am absolutely loving. It adds a layer of dramatic irony, and knowing that inevitably things are likely to take a turn for the worse when all is revealed, it's tragic in a way I am really appreciating. This combined with some fantastic action has really elevated the series for me. Not quite on par with Ryuki or Hibiki, but probably comparable with W and Fourze. |
Just done with PMLG's first Hibiki episode, it was really great!
The episode itself is eh...it's a very odd way into a series although it's probably the only time the show puts in effort into the monster designs, even if that is undermined by the poor editing. It is a very nice introduction to Hibiki himself, though and watching this while being ten episodes into the series as I am, sheds new light on some things which suggests Hibiki may have had more thought out than some posters give credit for. I still think it's a mostly pretty boring show, though. |
Watched 37 of Kabutoa and I loved the scene where Tsurugi asked who would solve the answer for him and Jiya volunteered.
Also the Hoppers are really interesting and cool. |
I just read about Miyuki Kanbe. Oh. Gonna be kinda sad watching Hibiki going forwards, given how her character is in the show and everything.

Kamen Rider ZX (Birth of the Tenth Special): This is my second time watching it, and I found it much more enjoyable because between the first time and now I have watched more Showa Era series, gained more respect for the Showa Era Riders, and read the Spirits Manga making me love ZX. There is too much explanation in the beginning but after that it's really good, especially with seeing Kazuya again after finishing Super-1. The music besides some of the new stuff actually was Super-1's which was nice because I enjoyed the background music from it. I love all the riders together so that's nice too. V3, Riderman, and Super-1 were great and so was ZX. I wish this was actually a series because I think Badan and ZX could have had a lot of potential. I love ZX's henshin, and finishing attack when he glows red, it's so awesome.
Black Episode 6: Alright 1 year and 1 month later I continue with Black. Very showa-ish right now, definitely reminds me of X and Super-1's first half of the series. Definitely starting to see the beginning to the Heisei Rider shows in this too with the fighting of just a monster of the week instead of Minions and the Monster. Kotaro like his predecessors is very intuitive in trying to stop the threat. I love the Black suit and I am intrigued with Golgom. Hopefully this series won't take as long as Super-1 did for me to complete. |
My internet flatlined for an hour or so, so in the meantime, I decided to rewatch Super Hero Taisen Z.
...I don't know why, but I had nothing else to do. It was leagues better than SHT, I think because it realized that you're allowed to have a crossover without the Gokaigers or Decade as the centerpiece >> It still wasn't good, but it was a decent action flick. Much better than I remembered when I first watched it... |
Black Episode 7: I extremely enjoyed this episode a lot. This was the first episode that I have really loved Kotaro, I just liked him before hand but now I feel he evolved with helping the people Golgom brainwashed. His interactions with Battle Hopper I really enjoyed. Battle Hopper was totally awesome taking the attacks from the Rhinoceros Mutant to save Kotaro and running over the Rhino Mutant. I love Battle Hopper he is so awesome, sentient bikes rule! The fights are pretty awesome too I love how his feet, and hands glow with Red energy as he attacks (reminds me of ZX), and how he glows when he henshins. Though where is the disclaimer not to watch this at night because his henshin sequence will totally fucking blind you from the how bright it is. For a guy called Kamen Rider Black he has one of the brightest henshin sequences ever. Definitely can't wait to watch more.

Trying to watch Black RX. But uh, I can only find a few episodes. Anyone able to help me out? I found the episodes with no subtitles... But that's useless to me.

And with episode 25 down I am officially halfway through my watchthrough of Faiz.
Things are getting interesting, more mysteries are opening up, and the relationships between the characters continue to be a great driving point for the drama and tension. There was a movie for Faiz right, when is it best to watch it? |

Alright well I'm 5 episodes until the end of Kabuto and man, who hires these Zect Troopers? I mean they can't even face against a basic worm, and then the "leader/more powerful" worms are just stupid. Like they could of been explained better, but oh well. Now I hope we don't have to see Daiskue again,me very scene with him is boring, I mean I love the suit, and at first he was interesting but got boring.
Now Dark Kabuto is gonna last for a few episodes and die right? Then in the next few episodes is Sasword gonna find out hes a worm? |
Agito 10. So Mana seems to have psychic abilities, that's cool. Nothing more satisfying to me than seeing Houjou get beat up, then run away like a coward. Hikawa is still my favorite character so far.

Next Gaim/ToQger is going to be next Saturday, correct?

Black Episodes 8 and 9: Since I've been having a weird sleep schedule and watching a Kamen Rider with good subs that's on Youtube I can watch more lol. I really enjoyed both episodes of Black. The one with the Cicada Mutant I enjoyed because I'm starting to enjoy Golgom being the evil jackasses that they are and trying to manipulate hurt people to do their bidding. I mean I hate Golgom, but I enjoy villains being good, smart villains. I like how Kotaro helped Yuri the Violinist realize that she was helping people with her and shouldn't try to destroy people. I like how this is more about Kamen Rider being a hero than a fighter but I do miss the action that both Super-1 and ZX had; Also, Super-1 was a hero too, hell the Junior Rider Squad, and Super-1 made themselves the targets most of the time so innocents wouldn't even have to worry about Jin Dogma. Still I just miss the fighting of the foot soldiers especially when you had a Martial Artist doing the fighting. I enjoy that Kotaro figures out the weak point of the monsters and most of the time that's what he's doing during his fights then gets up and manages to go on the offensive to destroy the monster.
Now the Wasp Mutant episode had a lot of other things I liked. One thing that stood out that I liked was Kotaro trying to warn everyone it's a plot by Golgom and everyone calls him crazy, and are like "What's Golgom." because unlike Dogma/Jin Dogma making a huge spectacle with their threats and everyone knowing about them, Golgom is much more subtle with who they take and use for their plans. I preferred the Violinist sub plot more than the Dancing sub plot from this episode but enjoyed it nonetheless. Black's henshin, and special attacks are still blinding as always but I really enjoy how they look. Also yay! Battle Hopper is in the episode. I want more of Battle Hopper, lol. I swear Drive needs a sentient vehicle. Always watching a good subbed series always makes it so much easier to get through. Black Episode 10: So Golgom being even more dicks to the humans! Causing car accidents, helping the people, and recruiting them for an evil Militia damn they fucking suck. Seeing the guy who owns the shop Kotaro works at was cool, and nice to see their dynamic especially with everything. I enjoyed Kotaro's plan to infiltrate them, and helped protect all the people who got misled by Golgom. Awesome fight scenes against the Lizard Mutant especially with cutting off his tail, and his plan of I'm losing so I'm going to turn this guy into roadkill with Battle Hopper. The Rider Punch to its mouth looked like it hurt bad. Loving this series more. Also watching it when I exercise at the gym helps even more lol. |
Just finished episode 29 of Faiz.
Damn. Been waiting for the moment it ended on forever. Hope all the build up pays off. Also, Kitazaki is pretty badass. |
Finished episode 30.
I hate Kusaka. I do. I really really really hate him. |

I finished Kabuto today, and it was a pretty good series.
Now I really loved the characters, but the mystery the story brought to the table was just great, even if it was a mess at some points. Each of the riders were great, suits, cool personality's and I just really enjoyed the action. Now I guess that the last few episodes could of been better, 'cause I watched the Lego Movie before watching the last episode. Now all I have left is Hibiki which I'm at 20 now, Wizard, I'm at like 27. So better catch up on those and see what I'll watch next. |

What other seasons have you watched? I am always willing to give Ryuki a recommendation, Fourze too if you want something lighthearted. Faiz if you want something the polar opposite. |
I like Kusaka too. For many of the reasons I like Micchy.
They both just have so many layers to them. |
Just finished episode 34 of Faiz and....HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

Well I watched episodes 26&27 of Wizard and it was pretty good. Now Medusa's sister becomes the orange Wizard right?
|
Black Episode 11: I swear Gen Urobuchi must have loved this series because so many of these past few episodes merged together create part of the plot of Gaim, lol. There was stuff about the strong surviving, dance teams, and with this episode people growing plants from them. I really enjoyed seeing Golgom struggling being low on fruit for the Mutants, it was just intriguing to see that they don't have everything working for them. I still love how he figures out the ways to beat the monster, and I loved him fighting some of the Golgom Priests too. That one with telekinesis is going to be tough. The water battle was pretty cool too. Still just loving this series right now.
