Daigo's the main reason I stopped watching Kyoryuger - I cannot fucking stand the guy. I'm really sick of him being so absolutely perfect and the other Kyoryugers existing primarily to be his personal cheer squad.

Ban is pretty much the originator of the "shouty Red" archetype. There've been a few others since then, most notably Jan from Gekiranger. I still think Ban pulled it off best.

Daigo got on my nerves, not for being perfect, but the fact they never did anything to prove it. The show just screaming in my face 'he is perfect' for twenty minutes doesn't count as establishing character.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that is not the Ash I know. The one I know had a blue and white shirt.

Switchblade, you should watch episodes 17 and 18 of Kyoryuger, because Grey makes Daigo's perfection a point for why he should not be a ranger.

Those were the last episodes I watched and the ones that sealed it for me. Daigo's flaw is that he's "too perfect" but then he decides that he doesn't want his friends to get hurt, smacks a dude on the head, and Gray joins the "man, you're awesome" club. That was the straw that broke the camel's back.

To be fair, Daigo is not the only reason I've given up on Kyoryuger - there's a lot of stuff on the show that didn't work for me, Daigo's just the most biggest problem. I honestly feel a little bad for giving it up (unlike, say, Goseiger), but at the end of the day I watch tokusatsu to be entertained and I didn't find Kyoryuger to be very entertaining.

His quest for perfection and lack of weakness stem from his issues with his father. He's insecure about travelling the path his father laid out for him and doesn't want to disappoint. op he compensates by being the best he possibly can, at everything. I think being "awesome/perfect" can be an interesting weakness. If you never have flaws you never grow, but he does have insecurities so there's room for growth there.

Well I watched the first 6 episodes to OhRanger a little bit ago and either I am distracted because I'm hoping DHL actually delivers my package today or this show is not as good as I once thought it to be.

Started back up watching Boukenger. I'm up to episode 5 now, and the overwhelming thought I had was.. How could they turn this into OO? Boukenger has plot, and characters.. and plot.
