So, I was casually attempting another Masuda Method shiny, this time a Snorunt because I'm kinda hyped for Mega Glalie, but I wasn't really expecting one yet, rather waiting until I could reset for a guaranteed pentaperfect egg to hatch on a foreign-language game instead (my current female was breeding with a male Yamask with perfect Special Attack, not Speed).

And after about ten or fifteen eggs, I ended up with a female 31/31/31/16,18/31/27 shiny Jolly Snorunt! I don't know the exact SpA yet, not that it matters, but the speed is more than passable enough even if it's not absolutely perfect! Sadly, it's got Inner Focus instead of Moody, so no fishing for stat boosts, but I can definitely work with this in-game and online.

Gotta work on a name now. I was going to reuse Yukora if it was a male, like the Glalie in my ORAS demo, but I didn't think one up for a female yet.

Actually not all Pokemon movies use them, some movies have had their own theme, I know this as I've seen about every movie prior to this one.

Anyone else excited for the anime special based on ORAS with May and Brendan?

I don't see what to be excited about for it. It's only 5 minutes long and people will say it's better than the normal anime and that it should replace it. Just like they did with the B2W2 one.

I dunno, I just really like the anime that follow the games more. The Red/Blue anime that aired was great in my opinion. I don't think it should replace the current anime, it has its own charm.

All in all though, I like the additions that OR and AS gave us. The choices, like Altaria, Lopunny, Pidgeot and Sableeye were pretty great, I think. I've always thought that the X and Y Megas should've been "less Garchomp and more Manetric" so I'm happy they definitely did that for these games.

I actually wish they'd just not revealed any past the first four or so. It'd have made the whole thing a lot less disappointing. Its better to hit us with a bunch of new discoveries in-game to distract us then mull over and be bored by them by the time the game gets released with no new stuff. I really loved discovering Mega Gengar, Alakazam, Manetric, etc in X and Y.

I must concur on both accounts. Discovering them in-game was more exciting, and if real evolutions are indeed a thing of the past, then giving them to more deserving 'mons than the already overused and overpowered ones should be how they go. I'll probably end up training a Beedrill for example, even though I never had aspirations to before, just because now it might find a use.

I agree, I loved discovering new megas and finding the stones. It's at least a plus their actually giving megas to the Pokemon who need a buff this time around.

Beedrill didn't need a buff. They already explained that it was a weak Pokemon on purpose.
Beedrill doesn't need a buff, it needs a miracle, and a hundred point boost isn't enough to salvage it.

It's design is a step in the right direction~

I've seen mega Beedrill on Pokémon showdown, it can kill almost anything. Protect to let it get its buffs, U-Turn and Poison Jab for its STAB moves, and Drill Run as its coverage move. If you don't take it out quick, it has the potential to sweep your whole team.

Purposely weak or not, I welcome it xD

As I've said before, I've already reserved a spot on my team for Mega Beedrill on sheer design alone.
