Well I've done two episodes of Agito. It does have some mystery I guess so far, but if I continue watching there will be more mystery right?

Black Episode 19: Birugenia is such a cruel villain, I already proved I can beat Kamen Rider Black so I am going to think of another intelligent plan to weaken him again and kick his ass. Which almost worked if not for some of Kotaro's luck working for him. I love that Kotaro couldn't skate that was hilarious too. Anyways that was a brilliant use of both Battle Hopper and Road Sector; Birugenia fights with a Sword and Shield, I'll counter with two Motorcycles. Still Birugenia is totally stronger than Kotaro right now, he needs to step it up so he can defeat him. Though not too soon I am loving Birugenia right now. Also glad to see that Kotaro, Kyoko, and the other girl are learning more about Nobuhiko. I can't wait for more. |

So I watched Missing Ace. It was...worst then the show in all honesty. I know it's only an hour long movie and won't be as good, but this was a let down to me. It's plot starts off promising with them having to reseal all of the cards and a new Joker with a bit of a rider war thrown in. But then it has this stuff about Joker basically body swapping and how Amane has to be killed because her father did some seal and this apparently makes her the only one to be sacrificed. What the actual fuck? You were doing just fine with the "Reseal everything with some rider fighting" plot, you don't need this sacrificial crap. Plus if the four king cards were needed to make the sacrificial card, how the hell did Kenzaki get it back to turn into King Form? And how come some of the Category Kings can't talk in human like they could in the show? The story is a mess by the halfway point and is brought down by an actual plothole. The only thing positive I can say about the plot is that it is paced rather nicely, but not even that saves it from how shit it is.
The action was once again good and like the show is the only truly good/great thing about the film. The effects are slightly improved but they still aren't great looking, and that CGI isn't fooling anybody. The music was good again and the acting wasn't terrible and the suits were pretty cool looking, except for the new green rider, his was terrible. So yeah, Missing Ace was an utter disappointment for me. Once again I know these movies aren't going to be as good as the show, but we have examples that they can be as good and even better such as Paradise Lost. This film however just stunk. The story gets stupid by the end and the ending itself concludes because of one big plothole, and it neglects some of the aspects of the show. Only the action makes it enjoyable (that and seeing pimp Kotarou) with everything else just being pretty bad. I'd rewatch the show but this is something I don't think I ever want to see again. Critically I give it a 2. On a personal enjoyment level, I'll give it 2, the extra half being for having one of my favorite suits in it. And now I am finally completely 100% done with Blade. The verdict stands, not a bad ride with the show, the movie sucks, I appreciate the characters behind the suits I like, but the feeling after finishing everything is meh for the show and blehh for the movie. |
The Category Kings couldn't talk because they didn't have established personalities in the show when they were writing the movie.
Its the same reason why Delta never appeared in the Faiz movie. |
Finished Kamen Rider Black.
Overall it was a really cool show and I enjoyed myself watching it. There were some episodes I really didnt care for and some that were absolutely bad ass. If I had one gripe with the show it would be Shadow Moon. For all the build up he got during the show he didnt really do all that much. He just stood around most of the time talking about how he will fight Black but never actually doing it :lol Anyway I liked the show but its definitely not in my all time favorites. |
When it comes to Missing Ace, the one aspect I thought it did very well was that it shows what happens to the Riders after the battle is over. A lot of them just can't adjust to normal lives after what they've been through. I mean, you fight monsters day in, day out for who knows how long and then you have to deal with an ordinary life. I kind of wish that aspect had played more of a central role in the thing.

I do think not having Moon turn into Nobuhiko more than once was a major missed opportunity. Quote:

I was waiting the whole time for them to engage in battle with Kotaro but they never did. |
Black Episode 20: That was a great plan by the Golgom Priests by trying to use Kotaro's kind heart against him, too bad they failed by getting involved. Though I think Kotaro would have called their bluff anyways because Yukari would have died if he died too. I'm so happy Battle Hopper didn't get forgotten, I love his use. I hope we get more Birugenia because he is a better villain than the Priests to me. Great to see Kotaro fight normally more too. I love good subtitles because they definitely make watching the Showa Era shows very enjoyable.

Black Episode 21: It's been a while since Kamen Rider has made this emotionally nerve-wracked from an episode! Damn you Golgom for messing with Battle Hopper and making me worry and close to tears because I thought he was going to die! Yes I am emotionally attached to the bike, but this is one of the few times the Bike feels like a character. I love how Kotaro treats both Battle Hopper and Road Sector with care and trying his hardest to save him. The Priests have definitely upped their game but I don't think they have the power like Birugenia to defeat him. I had no idea what was going to happen at the end with the missile, man this episode was fucking exciting for me.

So I'm up to 13 with Agito, and it's funny how kid Mana was reading a story about Momotaro and then to have her actress return on Den-O, with Momotaros.
Also in surprised so much is unknown especially about the murder, unknown and more. |
IM almost done with W. Sob.
Im on 45 right now and I just watched A-z last night. Oh man....I hope to god people dont die. Also kamen rider Joker needs his own spinoff. |
Agito 20. I barely understand what the hell's going on, but I still love this show. I'm glad they've toned down the blinding lights during his henshin, it was getting kind of tiring. They seem to only be using it where it makes sense now, instead of it being their go-to CGI substitute.

Black Episode 22: Very interesting episode, this kid was almost like a precursor to being an Agito lol. To see this kid trying to protect his father from Kotaro was interesting. I really enjoyed that Birugenia has made the Priests step up their game because they have been better villains even if not successful. I love that the Mutants are related to each other some of them and even want revenge against Black. Also I love the Power Stripes that's a neat feature to have and Road Sector is badass too.

A-MA-ZON!
Just finished episode 4. Really glad to have Amazon speaking more or less proper Japanese now. I mean, yeah I did enjoy him being the wild man, it made for a nice bit of something different, but after a few episodes of it we really did need to move on to having our hero actually speak, and that that also led to the cutting back on narration was a blessing. Story moved forward a touch as well. Not much, mind, but Amazon at least has a bit of an idea as to what the hell is going on and some of the forces that are at work, so that's something. And you know, the fight scenes, I like 'em. They're raw, they're dirty, it's like watching two animals go at it and I like that. They feel like just really brutal scuffles, real tooth and nail, literally, stuff. Really just having a lot of fun watching this season. It kinda reminds me of when I was watching Fourze the first time. While the mood and tone aren't exactly the same, as you can definitely tell that Amazon isn't really trying to be over the top goofy, and the music and some of the shots obviously show an attempt at being serious or dramatic, it's just it's age makes it come across..like a really old Japanese toku show. But yeah, just..it reminds me of Fourze because I'm just having a good, fun time watching it, and after having just finished a season as dark and depressing as Faiz, it's kinda nice to have one I can just sit back and laugh my way through. |
Black Episode 24 (Because I got confused on which episode I was on and watched this one before 23 lol): This was a very intriguing episode. The kids with the Black Symbol on them trying to stop Golgom were cool, it sucks they had to stay at the age of 11 for 10 years. It was great to see Kotaro take out some robots and the laser guns were nice. Nice episode of super heroics and action, I love this series.
Black Episode 23 (Mistake fixed lol): So this episode was Lord Helix gone evil with the Ammonite Mutant lol. Very interesting to see Kotaro fight against a Telekinetic mutant, it made the fights really different and fun, also great to see Battle Hopper kick ass too. I enjoyed the kid taking care of Marumo and seeing him helping the kid was really nice too. Birugenia still is a badass villain and probably could have defeated Black a lot sooner if he was the villain from the beginning. I find the Priests annoying and that Birugenia should take over soon. Well almost halfway done so far, and like always can't wait for more. Black Episode 25: So first the Battle Hopper focused episode, now the Road Sector focused episode. These bikes are probably some of the most story focused ones I've seen. Trying to create their own Road Sector was a great plan too bad they didn't make one that was Rider Kick proof lol. The Motorcycle battle was totally awesome too. The fight scenes in this episode was especially great here. Great to see Birugenia take the lead with the plan again, I can't wait to get to the true showdown between Black and Birugenia, or I hope that happens. |
On a 4 hour bus trip with plenty of time to kill so I'm working my way through more of Hibiki and am up to episode 25 now. Just past the debut of Hibiki Kurenai (at least that was the name I think it said), which was an interesting episode. I was a bit confused how it was more a heavy Todoroki episode than a Hibiki one, but I really like the no-nonsense attitude towards powering him up. He doesn't need any fancy gadgets, he trains and he gets stronger. Just awesome.
I'm still not really enjoying the Asumu stuff (I get the point of it, but the fact he's such a dull and charmless character does not make for good watching) but the rest of Hibiki has really hit its stride for me now. Sucks that the writing change is coming up soon - when is it again? 32? |

Phew, finished Faiz yesterday and honestly, I disliked pretty much everything about it. The characters were unlikeable, the designs were totally not my cup of tea, the music was okay, the story was... meh.
The only thing I really enjoyed about it though was the Hyper Battle Video. That one was awesome xD |
Perhaps not what am I watching, but moreso what I'm listening to, but how did I miss this song?!

I can see the designs being hit or miss with people, I really liked both the rider and orphenoc designs for the most part. The only song I really remember from it was Justi-faiz, which isn't my favorite opening theme but I still really dug it. The story, it wasn't an especially story driven series I suppose, and with the way the ending felt rushed to have any relevance... You know what, I just had a bit of a realization. Faiz and Wizard are really really similar in that regard. The early part of the show focuses on the villains trying to turn humans into more monsters because reasons. And then the latter portion tries to come up with some sort of endgame out of basically nowhere. There are other similarities too but I'm too tired and lazy to think about them right now. But yeah, Faiz was a great season. A bit overbearing and dark at times, but it was definitely a good ride. So, A-MA-ZON! has been a slow watch for me. Mostly because just being really busy at home and work, and using what free time I do get on other things. I just finished episode 5, don't really have anything to say about it at this point. I do like that it seems to tie-in to the next episode and that we're going to have one of the beastmen be a bit more relevant now, maybe. It's a short season and I'm honestly surprised I haven't just marathoned my way through it, I watched the last half of Faiz quicker than I've watched the first quarter of Amazon I think, and Amazon is only 24 episodes long. May need to watch a faster paced season after this one or something. |

Black Episode 26: This must have been fun for the little girl in this episode to beat up Kamen Rider Black, lol. The Buffalo Mutant and The Priests' plan were good in theory, too bad they keep underestimating Kotaro and his big heart that can help the people they manipulate get past the evil plans. Birugenia just needs to kill the Priests and try to take out Black himself, because this would have happened already lol. Though I love Kotaro a lot with how heroic he is. The action is pretty awesome lately Black has been badass.

I say Kuuga is my least favourite Rider show, but I at least watched the whole of Kuuga. Blade and Faiz are two Rider shows I've never enjoyed enough at any point to find the motivation to finish. |
