So who watches the new Max Steel?

I haven't been keeping up with it since it premired but it's pretty much American Toku.

There is a new Max Steel?! Need to see that!

So I finally got round to watching part 1 and 2 of Max Steel's opening three parter and...wow! I loved it.

The series could do with some originality and some subtly but the characters were likeable, the comedy was funny, the snarky robot was actually fun rather than a nuisance and the action was spectacular. Even the CG animation was for the most part really great.

The weakest aspect of the show is the high school business which feels forces and tacked on, just like all the characters that come from that aspect.


And what is that, a kids show where death and conflict arent softened to irrelevancy?! Its almost like the show doesn't assume children are morons...crazy!

So I wont deny that I am a HUGE EMH fan but I went into Avengers Assemble with an open mind and even then, this show is fucking awful.

The voice acting is horrible, the animation is horrendous, the action is poor and all round it was just EMH but with all the flaws blown up a hundred times larger.

I liked it, sure it's not as good as Earths mightiest heroes but it was still watchable.

Also i loved the Hulk in it.

Yeah it's definitely one of my favorite modern cartoons, yeah it makes me wonder how a live action toku version would do.

That is probably because the voice actor for the Hulk is the only surviving cast member from the change from EMH to AA (unless we count Captain Marvel's voice actor who is now doing an okay job as Cap), and in turn the only voice actor with any life and personality surrounded by perhaps the blandest cast of all time, I've seen 4Kids dubs with more personality.

But yeah Max Steel is great.

Aw, they changed VAs?

It's either the cast from Ultimate Spider-Man or people I've never heard of who are so devoid of personality you'll assume it was done by Microsoft Sam.

Well I prefer Tony's new VA over his EMH voice actor, and David Kaye is perfect as JARVIS. I don't really quite understand everyone's problems with the animation either, I think it looks fine.

I'm not defending the show by any means of course, it still failed to do anything impressive. Eh, I might keep watching it and see if it gets better, because let's be fair here: Earth's Mightiest Heroes had a rocky start as well.

At least it's better then Avengers United They Stand.
