When I compare all the villains in Yuuya Takahashi's works, I think the villains in the Geats series are not as interesting as the villains in Ex-Aid and Zero-One because of lack of future world details in the Geats series and a boring DGP villain background. Suel is easily one of the worst Kamen Rider final bosses in my opinion.
Some series examples, like Ghost and Gavv, have more interesting world settings for villains than the Geats villains. |

Unpopular opinion for Valentine's Day: Toei's Spiderman's Hitomi is Spiderman's best girlfriend. At least in live action.

I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion, but when it comes to Gotchard I think they should've held out longer for making Rinne into a rider. When the series was first introduced with the main characters having a dynamic as dual protagonists, I found their dichotomy of rider and experienced alchemist to be interesting.
Honestly, post-Gotchard though I think I like the idea of Rinne as the actual protagonist more. Sure wasn't the intention of the showrunners, but she always felt more like the main character. |

I've been thinking about this a lot ever since I started digging into the modern shows in the Ultra series... Generally speaking I think the New Generation shows are mediocre and retread the same, overly-safe narrative ground too often. I know Sentai sometimes gets accused of being too formulaic, but I don't think it has anything on the Ultra series and the sheer amount of "tradition" it gets bogged down in. Most of the New Generation shows tend to blur together for me, and the two that I can say I have positive feelings about and remember better, R/B and Taiga, are definitely on the quirkier side of things. I'd like to see Tsuburaya push the boundaries of their flagship series a bit more. But, I don't think most other fans feel the same way at all, which is pretty alienating (ha) feeling at times.

Dang, I'm only about 12 episodes into Geatz but I was really enjoying it so far. Bummer that it seems to go downhill (I only skimmed the convo so I could try to avoid spoilers, but I've seen this sentiment elsewhere as well)
