Had a theory about the first scene of Gaim and what we know now.

Invess are created when animals ingest Lock Fruit, Lvl 2 Invess are created when humans ingest Lock Fruit. The first scene of Gaim has Baron with an army of Invess and Gaim with his own Invess army. What if what their standing on is the ruins of Zawame City and their army is all the animal and people that once lived there being overtaken by Lock Fruit and Helheim Forest?

I also think that the one chosen by Helheim is Mai, and that's why she turns into Mysterious Girl and time travels and all that. But that's an obvious one.

Random thought. Since the revelation came that Invess are People.. They haven't been fighting Invess, just other Riders.

Kouta fought an Invess in his first fight as Jinba Lemon.

I still say the first scene is what could have happened,an alternate future.I think it will be completely different.Mai was obviously chosen by the forest in the first scene of Gaim,but then why keep asking the question of "Who will the forest choose?"

If we know it's Mai,why ask it unless it will be someone different.

So when episode 12 aired I didn't post my 'theory' on Helheim being an ancient forest in another dimension connected and guarded by the Sacred Tree/Shrine and that the cracks that keep appearing and the danger of Helheim invading the world was all because of Yggdrasil tearing down the shrine and forcing the natural connection to Helheim to remain open. I thought the scene with Kaito and Mai was obvious world building. I've only seen the tree really only mentioned once though so I want to try and lay out my full theory because I have lots of other speculations but they all rely on this theory. Then afterwards I'll mention the evidence I think supports it(which has somehow become a whole essay XP)

My full theory is Helheim is an ancient forest in another dimension and that Zawame city is built exactly where earth is closest connected to the Forrest with the Sacred Tree being a central gateway/access point to Helheim. Once in the past their was a threat of Helheim expanding and invading into Earth wiping out all other plant life and animal life and the Takatsukasa Shrine and Summer Festival, especially the dance for the sacred tree by the priestess, was created to protect the earth and seal Helheim away.

The truth was forgotten over time though until Yggdrasil somehow got information on Helheim which made them decide to go to Zawame, a regular small town and rebuild it. They uproot the Sacred tree and put it in their new headquarters in the middle of town to use it to enter Helheim and destroy the shrine and grove around it to wipe away any memory of it and keep the public from realizing their true purpose in Zawame.

It isn’t until five months before Gaim starts that Yggdrasil actually breaks through to Helheim but it is their continuous chipping away, destruction of the one protection earth had, their taking samples from Helheim reintroducing the invasive species to earth, and unnaturally forcing the connection between Helheim and earth to remain open that not only kick starts the story of Kamen Rider Gaim, but will be the cause of the final threat that Kota will have to face to save the world and humankind.


My Supporting Evidence
1. Helheim is an Ancient Forrest.

1. If my theory is correct Helheim forest is at least as old as the Sacred Tree, which Kaito described as ancient(Episode 12) and comparing the tree to some different real life trees it could easily be 2000 years old( https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/109117 )

2.The Sacred Tree is a natural gateway/connection to Helheim

1. The one permanent crack(forced open by Yggdrasil) that we know is able to exist is literally opening up inside of the ancient tree(episodes 10,11,12, 14, 15)
2. The fact that Yggdrasil uprooted the Sacred Tree and they tore the Shrine down taking away Mai’s parents job right after they come to Zawame when Kaito and Mai are still kids shows that the Tree is important to Yggdrasil’s plans. As described by both Kaito and Mai, "When I was a kid, a shrine grove was here. There was a sacred tree as well as a shrine for protecting it However no one remembers that anymore. The Shrine was torn down and the grove was cleared away"(Kaito to Mai Episode 12) “The same thing happened to my parents(about loosing their ‘business’). Yggdrasil changed this city…so they couldn’t live the way they did before.”(Mai to Kaito episode 8)
3. This importance is highlighted by the fact that the tree is held in the base and center of Yggdrasil’s base of operations in the city of Zawame(episode 10, 11, 14, 15)
4. Yggdrasil’s name, logo, and main building are all based on a tree, the assumption is it’s based purely on Norse mythology but it could also be based on the actual Sacred tree in the Gaim world. After all Yggddrasil isn’t only the world tree, but is known for connecting the nine worlds. A possible indicator that the Yggdrasil corporation is using the Sacred Tree as a connection to Helheim because it was the original world tree.

3. The Shrine/Summer Festival was created to protect Earth from Helheim Forest invading and taking over Earth.

1. By now the show has made it clear how easy and quickly Helheim’s plantlife and wildlife can invade and replace Earth’s own. We have seen evidence since the first episode that spores from the forest spread the moment a crack opens up including the Fruit of the forest(Episodes 1, 8, 9, 12). Humans are drawn to eat the fruit(episodes 1, 9, 14) and creatures that eat the fruit become Inves( episode 14). Then humans who have been attacked and harmed by Inves that come from the forest have fruit growing from there bodies accelerating the growth rate of the invasive species(episode 13).
2. Despite this there is no known history of Inves, cracks, or planets from Helheim until years after the obliteration of the shrine and years after the last Festival and priestess dance meaning that they could of played a part in keeping such events from happening.

4. The cracks and the threat of Helheim invading the earth is all because of the Yggdrasil company.

1. As mentioned above the only known evidence of Helheim’s invasive nature is seen after Yggdrasil purposely destroys an ancient shrine and forest grove(something they are known to do to keep any evidence of Helheim from reaching the public). That and the fact that the first recorded human entering a crack and becoming an Inves by Ryoma is less that five months after his first study record explaining the effects of the fruit on earth creatures indicating that they had only actually broke through to Helheim barely more than five months before the series had officially begun(Episode 14), and we have seen how rapidly things have declined since then and how rapidly the problem is getting out of hand.

Anyone else expecting an eagle, a hawk, a squirrel, four stags and the dragon Nidhogg to appear at some point?

There's Invess of almost all of those Invess already but that doesn't rule out your theory.

Actually, you just gave me a new idea for a theory.

What if the reason why Helheim is invading Zawame is because of some sort of Dragon is trying to destroy all the realms? Heliheim needs help so in order to get it, Blonde Mai is the forest's avatar and the forest slowly creeps in to our world and eventually makes us have to get involved. That explains the possible destroyed city we might see off of that cliff that Micchy saw, since it could have been destroyed by Nidhogg. However, Yggdrasil and the Riders think that Helheim is attacking our world since the destroyed city now has the rapidly growing fruit plants covering it, making it look like the forest's fault. And also the Invess attacking people thing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who things Blonde Mai is possibly an avatar of the forest. ^^

My speculation on why the forest made an avatar is different, with instead of the forest reaching out to earth because the Forest itself needs help, but to give a warning that if humans continue messing with Helheim the world will be forever changed by whoever human the forest 'chooses'. With the reason the avatar looks like Mai is because she was suppose to be the next Shrine priestess to help protect/seal the forest.

Baron needs a powerup. He's been using Banana for far too long, and Mango isn't really helping him in power levels. He's not even a match for Bravo.

Honestly with all the new vehicles and rider types the core gimmick seems to have been lost somewhere.

It's a literal Baron Energy Arms. Gaim's isn't. Gaim uses a Genesis Core in addition to his Sengoku Driver. That silhouette for Baron matches Dukes Lemon Arms. Meaning Baron will get an actual Genesis Driver and access a real Lemon Arms unlike Gaim, who thanks to the core piece sort of hacks his way into an energy form.

Well this just got a lot more interesting, then. Now I'm interested to see whether or not the Baron faceplate gets a beard as well...

Is it movie speculation time yet? Because I got a theory on the summer/ series movie.

Also, is anyone else annoyed that the 3 levels of upgrades stuff carried over from Wizard? Seriosuly, Wizard isn't a horrible show, its just those stupid ass tropes and elements that carried that entire show to mediocrity shouldn't have transferred into such an excellent show like Gaim.

Well what ever the new Baron upgrade looks like I can't wait, though I would like it if they used the gimmick way more in the show.

I don't think Wizard was the first to have multiple upgrades for the main rider but I don't mind them at all. They are especially great if there's a reason for them in the story and not just to sell toys. Gaim needed Jinba to tackle on Bravo and the Energy Riders and Kachidoki will probably be need to take on Duke and the new breed of intelligent Invess.

Back on Baron's new upgrade I am glad to see the Rival isn't going to be lagging behind the power curve. Red and Yellow will make for a beautiful looking Rider and now Kaito will no longer have to worry about improperly using a lance anymore.

Not really, especially since I can only think of two Heisei Rider shows (Ryuki and Kabuto) that didn't have multiple levels of power-ups.

Has it been established yet whether or not the belt plates/base forms are pre-programmed, or somehow tied to the user? That's been bothering me for some time.

Ryoma Sengoku already said a few episodes ago that he programmed the belts with the call outs.

Well, that's understandable, though I find myself strangely disappointed.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm stuck playing catchup and haven't made it past episode seven.

The Sengoku Drivers with the yellow belts are tied to the users they first bond with, while the new ones that the KuroKage use are usable between different people. Dunno about the Genesis Drivers

I haven't been caught up on Gaim either but the show doesn't explain if the Riders are tied to the person(not the belts). Is Takatora just Kamen Rider Zangetsu, no matter which type of Driver or lockseed he uses? ( And is Kaito always Baron, Kota is always Gaim, e.t.c.)?

In episode two of Gaim when Maitries to put the Driver on, the belt won't go around but when Kouta puts it on it works just fine. Then at the juice place when they ask Sid about why the Driver only goes around Kouta and Sid says that the Driver is connected to the first person who uses it.Later on in more recent episodes Bravo and Gridonget Sengoku Drivers that have Silver straps instead of the yellow, and from what I could gather they are just more powerful Drivers.Now as for the Kurokage troops their Drivers have blank plates just like Knuckles, which means they are basically a third type of Sengoku Driver that anyone van use.

Now in the show, Gaim has used Ichigo, Orange, Suika, and Pine and he still remains Gaim, even in Jinba and Kachidoki the under suit is basically the same just in Jinba different crests and such.

The Eve thing is an old rumor that seems to have been waved off as just a rumor.

Yeah none of that info has ever been confirmed.

I find it funny that so many people are pushing for religious overtones in Gaim, considering Japanese media so regularly cheapens and utterly butchers Christian iconography in the place of actual depth.

As Gaim is a show with genuine maturity and depth, I really hope it doesn't lower itself to the cheapest device in the Japanese Media book.
