Finally caught up on Super since next week I can start watching the show legally and I know this arc isn't done yet, but my god, this may be one of the best arcs ever in the Dragon Ball series. It is far more complex and thoughtout than I was expecting from Dragon Ball in this day and age. That means there is also a timeline where the Earth stayed destroyed by Freeza's blast when he went up against Vegeta, HOLY ****!!! I'm super excited to see where this arc goes. Ha, get it, "super" exicited? I made a funny. :-)

After years, I'll finally try to finish the original DB, but when going to Z, I'm conflicted. Z or Kai? I heard that Kai's got pacing MUCH better, though I also heard how it 'stripped the soul of Z' despite how I'm certain that's nostalgia goggles

Kai is better than DBZ in my opinion due to better placing seeing there is not much filler. Most of the filler in DBZ didn't add much to the plot in my opinion. Not to mention the English dub for Kai is the best English dub for DBZ in my opinion. You can watch it Uncut on DVD, Blu-Ray and Toonami.

I find the old dubs from Funimation for DBZ to be pretty terrible in my opinion. They have bad voice acting, corny dialogue and bad dub errors in my opinion.

Yeah, go with Kai, at least as far as you can. Then jump to episode 200 of regaular Z and watch the Boo saga. Then stop at I want to say episode 287 (maybe 288) and watch Battle of Gods, Resurrection F, and then Super from episode 28 onward.

Buu saga Kai is already done in Japanese, but the English dub may be airing soon on Toonami.

The Boo saga in Kai is a mess though. It's cropped, has a green tint placed over it, it was poorly edited together and not enough was cut out, and the music was mediocre. Not to mention it seems like there are two different versions floating around.

The Funimation dub of the first Dragon Ball show from 2001-2003 is decent, but far from great. If you only like Dragon Ball in English, I suggest to watch DB and Kai dubbed. If you don't care about subs, you can still watch both DB and Kai subbed.

For GT, you can take it or leave it. I do suggest to watch GT subbed because I found the voice acting and dialogue in the Funimation GT dub to be awful. Not to mention the music replacement from Mark Menza is pretty bad too. From what I've seen, The Blue Water dub of GT is better with the Japanese music, better voice acting and the dub scripts look more faithful too.

Not to mention I always dislike the rap music intro that the Funimation dub of GT had.

The new episode of Dragon Ball Super was great. Seeing the episode in full HD on my TV looked really great with tonight's episode. However Crunchyroll using dub terminology for the subs does annoy me. They did the same thing for Digimon Adventure Tri as well.

They use Supereme Kai instead of Kaioshin and seeing "Supreme Kai Sama" looks off to me. They also used Evil Containment Wave instead "Mafuba" or "Demonic Containment Wave". Other than that, the subs are fine.

I loved how Vegeta and Goku were having a conversation during Zamasu's monologue, easily best part of the episode. :lol

Statue looks great, but seeing as the statue is just something that I can easily get at retail and the fact that there's no Season Pass truly makes this collector's edition perplexing.

I ended up canceling my pre order for this and I'm glad I did...in hind sight, the Deluxe Edition is just a much better deal.

I listen to Goku Black's voice in English and it sounds like SSj4 Goku but more angry. I was hoping for a creepy and ominous type of voice similar to the Japanese one.

I don't like the sound of that - it's immediately putting me off the English dub, and in general I much prefer the dub of Dragon Ball. Masako Nozawa's voice for Black is one of my favourite things in Super, its perfect.

I feel like Sean Schemmel could do a dark and gritty voice for Goku Black without trying to sound like a deeper version of SSj4 Goku. To me, I like DBZ better in Japanese because the voice acting, music and the dialogue is better. Kai is the only good English dub from Funimation in my opinion because the voice actors have improve since 1999. Most fans don't want to admit it because they are nostalgic of the Toonami Broadcast dub from 1999-2003.

You are from the UK, you had the Android saga-Buu saga dub with the Ocean cast. At least you guys are lucky to have he Ocean voice actors after 1999 which are better than the Funimation voice cast at the time in my opinion.

I was talking about in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2. Goku Black is a DLC fighter, both Hit and Goku Black have English voices in the game. I think most fans don't like the Japanese version because they are not used to it. Goku's voice may be off, but the others sound fine if you ask me. People are okay with Naruto, Digimon, Sailor Moon, One Piece and Bleach in Japanese, so it takes some time to get used too.

I've been a fan of the Japanese version of Dragon Ball since I was 10 years old. I remember finding about they edited DBZ down for kids on American TV and being like "Man DBZ in Japanese looks so hardcore". It's like if I was watching a different show seeing how the Japanese version had different music, different dialogue and censorship. Not to mention Goku in Japanese is more goofy and over the top while the old Funimation dub on Toonami made Goku to be a American superhero (See the Hope of the Universe moment in DBZ).

Seeing the other DBZ movies, GT and episodes of DBZ in Uncut Japanese on bootleg VHS tapes was so much fun back in the early 2000's. I did watch DBZ on Toonami (That's how I first saw DBZ back in 1998), but I still dislike the old Funimation DBZ dubs. I respect Funimation and the voice actor for improving over the years.

I like DB in both English and Japanese, it is more of the scripts that bother me over anything else. Well that and I hate Linda's voice for Freeza in the original dub. Chris Ayres is so amazing.
