Rintaro's comment about them didn't seem like there was bad blood between branches. I'd love to see the majority of the Southern Base riders to be more rivals and the "Not evil, but not necessarily good" branch. Have them be the ones who're dealing with the war in a more "practical" way as opposed to Northern's "idealistic" approach. Maybe have one of the riders be actually connected to why Calibur defected. Like, maybe Calibur knew something was up with SOL.

Y'know, I was just thinking about that recently. I think final form weapons are a great idea and it makes sense for Saber to be the show that finally brings them back in fashion.

Anyway, I couldn't watch 14 yesterday like I planned since TokuFun haven't uploaded the TV-Nihon stream yet. Next week is Christmas and 16 will probably be pre-empted for New Year, so my new plan is to watch 14, 15 and Blades Retsuden next fortnight instead.

Most likely southern base riders debut after the defeat of calibur and preventing the first disaster. Every Christmas is the finale and new year is a reset for new toys.

I hope I'm wrong but I think faceplates are gonna be the new hotness for Bandai.

I think we'll see some type of new guard for the Rekka and a shield for a final form weapon.

They'll probably be rivals to me too. Think maybe like Scissors, Verde, Gai, Tiger & Imperer.

I did notice in preview stuff, the way part of the belt is open you can basically see the entirety of Kamen Rider Saiko's upper body. So we have a semi-idea of what he looks like. You can even see the little fists on his Driver.

What does the name "Saiko" have to do with swords?

Nothing!

Yeah, even the "sai" part being a reference to the weapon of the same name is a stretch.

According to twitter (https://twitter.com/eiga_natalie/sta...54388494548992) and google translate; his name is formed from Sai(最) meaning "Most", and Kou/Hikari(光) meaning "Light", thus "Saikou" would mean "Most Light"/"Brightest".

So his rider name is intended to more of a reference to his element rather than any kind of sword-

I prefer to just have Saikou mean "Ultimate light".

But in all seriousness, with all the sparkly effects on Saiko's weapon, you can't deny that the whole "most brightest" thing is very appropriate!

If they do another "your descendant from the future" thing like with New Den-O, future Kiva and Dark Drive, I really hope it's Light Saber.

Seems like opposite of calibur except we get the whole movie rider that's practically another opposite to saber more so than calibur. And now we have a swordman of light that brighter than even saber. He seems to be calling himself the sword literally , wonder if that's overseeing too much. He somehow breaks the 4th wall with tassel for a 3rd time. It wouldn't be a thing if tassel didnt phsyclsly manifest and showed up during the kento fight as well.

We gots some info regarding the auditions of Furuya (Storious), Saikawa (Zooous), and Takano (Legeiel).

-They're all 5 years apart from each other Takano is 20, Saikawa is 25, and Furuya is 30.
-They initially auditioned for riders but didn't get in. But was asked if they're interested in villain roles.
-Furuya and Saikawa knew each other about 3 years ago in previous works.
-Saikawa tried out an "onee" Storious and left an impression which left everyone in the audition room shakened.
-Saikawa also eats Cicadas
-Takano was doing a "cool guy" impression with the Megid boys, but over the course of them filming together, he wasn't really as cool as they thought. Saikawa mentions that his youth is showing.

Yeah thanks to the driver I guess we can predict what his upper body looks like and should be close to this.

I wonder if Saikou sword will be just a sword among others, a "special sword" like Ankokuken Kurayami is (1 of the first two created) or if it's literally the seiken itself. Can't wait to know the name.

I somehow expect him to be linked to Calibur somehow (Light and Dark stuff), so probably his sword is one of the first two created.
And since Calibur sword was somehow entrusted to Touma, I wonder if there isn't some kind of "Excalibur" plot around the corner. Like Ankokuken Kurayami could achieve some excalibur form by absorbing Saikou's sword light etc...

I can't help but wonder how it'll work with the Wonder Ride Books, which are what we usually use to see what a Saber Rider's form will look like.

Episode 16 has Reika as the one who turns the LOGOS Swordsmen against Touma, with Yuri’s tapping in to stop the conflict.

Episode 17 has Touma showing Yuri around and we meet the Southern Base’s equivalent to Sophia, Yuki (played by Hitomi Hasebe of Ultraman Max and Ultraman Geed fame), who was previously sucked into the Wonder World and became a Megid

Also, the suit actor for Saiko will be the guy who’s played every main Ultra from Max onwards, with the exception of Mebius.

Wow! Wonder if we'll expect the south's riders soon.

With so much characters, i would kind of prefer and liked if they ditch northern base and let them fight offscreen for a while with touma siding with southern base to train or fight with them for a while. It's like classic showa riders where they operate a dif places around the globe for saber is differnt dimensions. This way more time to intro and get to know the new cast. They can always do more spin off for their streaming service to talk about what the northern bases is up to.

It seems that in order to fight against the Megiddo, Saikou's bright light casts a shadow entity who obeys and moves according to Saikou's commands. This entity is Saikou Shadow, which is the figure in the images.

So Saikou does have the name of a sword! That sword being himself! I guess after King Excalibur was a sword that turned into a mech that used a rider as a sword, having a rider who literally just is a sword is a logical next step. And a sword with a mind of its own is also pretty fitting with the magical knight theme.

How long will the other riders stop pointing their swords on Saber?

For the former, that'll be a little while after the show ends, and for the latter, it'll probably be 5-7 episodes after all the riders are introduced, unless one doesn't show up until Q3.

Yes that might the case, but in the same preview, the "Kenzan" stand-in was Rintarou holding two swords and the "Buster" stand-in wasn't Ogami. Maybe it's sort of their "younger" days or something.
