You know, I think the only thing that disappoints me about Geats is that we're getting yet another animal-based Rider in a long string of animal-based Riders (Saber still counts as while they make a distinction between mythological/legendary animals and normal animals, they're still ANIMALS).

We haven't had a strictly non-animal Rider since Zi-O, which may sound recent, but that was four years ago now. I miss seeing what wild motifs we'd get with Phase 2 Heisei like Fourze, Drive, Gaim, Ghost, and Ex-Aid. I guess we did get a long string of non-animal Riders, too, so it might be only 'fair'. But at least the non-animal Riders were a lot more interesting to compensate than just 'animals and something else'. Zero-One was 'animals and keycards', Saber was 'animals and fairy tales', Revice was 'animals and previous Riders', and now Geats is 'animals and Fortnite'.

I agree with you. I'm hoping the animal themes in Gaets are mostly just a call-sign thing and the various forms are other motifs. A bit like how the riders in Ryuki had the one animal to each of their identities.

I guess I don't mind it because the actual Riders and how they incorporate the animals into their designs just looks really cool.

I think Geats is the first protagonist Rider since Wizard who only have one animal theme (fox) in each of his forms.

Also, Geats in his current Forms is a variation of his basic Forms because his helmet design is still same.

The other Riders like Zero-One, Saber and Revice has multiple animal themes.

Just because Geats will only have one animal motif, doesn't really change the fact that Geats still has an animal motif, in a now-long string of animal-based Riders.

Like I'm very much excited for Geats, don't get me wrong, but I just kind of wish we'd get the crazy, wild, truly off-the-wall motifs we got before. Fourze and astronauts, Drive and cars, Gaim and fruits, Ghost and historical figures, Ex-Aid and video games. Ever since Zero-One it's been 'animal and a secondary motif', and I kind of wish we'd move away from that again. Not permanently, just for a bit, you know?

I think the sixth Reiwa's season will be quite innovative. Plus, to be fair, the Geats don't have any fox-related abilities (besides bike transformation) so it's a stretch to call him an animal rider. In this regard, by the way, it turns out that we never received a kitsune rider, so we are waiting for the Kamen Rider Yokai season to fill this gap.

Just because he hasn't exhibited animal abilities doesn't really change it from having an animal theme. It's STILL visually an animal, no cutting around it, no moving goalposts here. It shouldn't even be a factor here, considering how in other seasons they weren't always strictly animal-based abilities. Ryuki's Riders didn't, Blade's Riders didn't, Kabuto's Riders didn't... in fact, the only ones that you could argue had animal-based abilities are Build, OOO, and Zero-One, but Build's thing was mixing organic and inorganic halves together, OOO's were still pretty off the wall (I don't think in real life stag beetles can create lightning or lions radiate light), and same with Zero-One (tigers and bears do not have fire or ice powers respectively).

Like I'm excited about Geats' kitsune motif since we usually use wolves for canine-themed Riders, but I'm just kinda down that it's STILL animals and we haven't had a strictly nonanimal Rider since Zi-O (and I don't count Zi-O OOO Armor because that is first and foremost an OOO themed form, and OOO was animal-themed, and it's not Zi-O's main form). I know I'm being a little too defensive about my position on it, but like, I am still genuinely excited, just that I hope after this we won't get another animal Rider.

So I suppose this is a definitive deconfirmation on what we saw in the cast leak that said Tycoon's sister would be Dapan and Tsumuri would be Merry, unless they somehow get those powers later and we've been inadvertently spoiled on some late-series turn of events.

On the one hand, I was excited at the prospect of having three female Riders this early in the series. But on the other hand, it always did seem kind of unlikely. And hey, glass half full, I'm excited to see Nossan's actor as a Rider, and these character descriptions all sound like they could be pretty interesting.
